  1. Hi Andy I got it from a guy in Essex recommended by Topless called Ken. He said he knew Luke very well. He mentioned quite a few of the meets around the country that he goes to. He races a 240Z at classic events. Will any gearbox place be able to recon it ? What should I pay ? Cheers Mark
  2. Thanks for the tips. I picked the box up on Saturday. Spent all day yesterday cleaning it - and ruined my clothes at the same time as my neighbours Black & Decker Workmate:( Now I just need the ancilliaries............. Mark
  3. Guys Picked up my manual gearbox on Saturday. Thanks Topless for the recommendation. The place I got it from is an Alladins Cave of stuff. There were three TT's in various stages of break up. If there's something you need I can't imagine they haven't got it or can get hold of it. All I need now is the ancilliaries...........anyone got any ?? :D Mark
  4. Hi Guys (and girls obviously) Can anyone comfortably recommend a workshop to do a conversion on my j-spec TT from auto to manual. I've found a box (although not all the ancilliaries yet). Any thoughts on a going rate for the job ? Cheers Mark
  5. Morning Tim I work for a Japanese firm in the City. I can email some of the guys in Tokyo for you. What do you want to find ? You can email me at mbaigent@gnseurope.com for confidentiality if you want. Regards Mark
  6. Spotted a VERY clean red Z on New Malden roundabout on Saturday morning. Anyone on here ? I won't detail the number plate but you will know if it's you guvnor :) Mark Bayside Blue TT

The engine bay is the original charcoal grey. But I don't stop at traffic lights and lift the hood very often so that's not a problem. The paint was £1000 and the body needed a good bit of tidying up. It had had a frontal impact that the dealer I bought it off had hidden very well. On balance it was expensive but I like it. I've not seen another like it. Are there any others in that colour ? Mark

Hi Colin I paid £2,700 for my respray. It was a full colour change and SE did everything apart from the engine bay as this would have required the engine out. It's now Bayside Blue and looks great (there's some pics on the Brighton and Bolney meeting threads). I did think about purple (Gran Turismo 3) or a couple of other funky colours but then they can go out of fashion after a while or a a pain to repair if you have a knock. Whatever you choose - good luck. Mark
  9. Hey Guys Can anyone tell me if Skyline R34 or 350Z wheels fit the 300zx? Thanks Mark
  10. Bayside Blue
  11. I was looking on ebay in the States and there are loads of auctions for HID bulbs. Are these any good ? Mark
  12. I picked up an application form for the next Cannonball Run at the meeting on Saturday at Bolney. Is anyone else on here going to do it ? Has anyone done it before ? Mark Bayside Blue TT
  13. I AM IN LOOOOOVE !!!!!! WOW !!! HOW ?????? HOW MUCH ???????? WHERE CAN I GET DOORS LIKE THAT ??????????? Mark
  14. Hi there I don't know how to post a pic on here but if you look back through the General Chat forum there's a thread starting 'ATTENTION DARREN' there's a pic on there. My car is a 1990 Jap TT Auto now in Bayside Blue. Let me know what you think. I searched for ages to get one I liked and this fro me blows them all away - but each to his own of course. If it's on a Z then no matter what it is it'll look great. Mark
  15. Hi guys I replaced the factory rear spoiler with a Wings West affair that I love and filled the gap on the boot lid with a factory perspex cover which I'm sure a lot of you on here must have too. The thing is that this cover does in fact have a light built into it which the workshop assured me they had wired up. On the outside it is black as the Ace Of Spades but on the inside if you look there is a red lens. I checked the bulbs were ligting up and they do but you can't tell from the outside. Am I missing something here ? Should I remove a piece or something ? It seems daft to bother to create a light fitting if it is so tinted that actually you can't see if they are on or off. Any advice or experiences would be gratefully received. Thanks Mark PS I'm beginning to think that there must be so much artificial light at night in Japan that they never use their car lights (as witnessed by the terrible headlights)
  16. I'm trying to think of a joke containing the phrase 'Fill her up" but am failing miserably............
  17. Hi Stuart Wow this is quite freaky as I did my calipers on Saturday too and noticed that exact same things on my shocks too - in fact for a moment I thought I was reading my own post - that I didn't post ha ha ha :D
  18. I'd like to brag and boast that I had it sideways the whole time and really smoked it.............but I didn't. I don't know what he paid for it but it must have been £100K so I was very very scared  Some years ago I drove a Testarossa for a few weeks and that was like a London bus compared to the 360 - WOW !!
  19. Hi all Now don't get me wrong - wild horses couldn't part me from my Z and there are very few other cars I admire but a chance to drive a new ferrari 360 with the F1 paddle shift doesn't come along too often so I leapt at it yesterday afternoon. The sun was shining and the Oakleys were at hand. What a car !!! And quick like few others I've ever driven. It was all going great until I pulled up outside my house grinning like an imbecile behind the wheel after giving it a good thrashing around where I live - and KERBED THE ALLOY !!!!!! To his immense credit the guy was cool about it and just kind of shrugged that these things happen - but I wanted to die !! Anyone on here got a spare 18" magnesium alloy lying around ? It has made me think a little before I cough up for some 18's for the Z. Mark (Tw*t) :(
  20. Thanks guys I appreciate the tips. SE have done all my servicing to date and painted the car for me. But it's a loooong way from my home and I don't want to be stuck in the Dartford tunnel with no gears . A manual conversion is tempting Stuart but I can't find a broken manual TT anywhere. Any other suggestions for that ? Maybe get the parts from Japan ? Mark
  21. Thanks guys. Tim that sounds like a pretty strong endorsement. I've read through the instructions several times but often they don't convey the whole story. Anything to look out for when fitting ? I've seen a nice steering wheel in my local Halfords (cheesy place I know) that has two buttons fitted into the leather spokes that would be perfect. Any doubts that I couldn't use something like that ? Once again thanks. Mark
  22. Once the autobox is sorted I'm considering the Shift At Will kit available from an outfit in Sweden. It's on a thread on here somewhere but the details on my PC at home sorry. Has anyone got this or have any feedback they can give. The site has a video of the kit in use. It seems to be a perfect match between manual and automatic. Thanks Mark
  23. HI guys - and girls Can anyone out there recommend a good autobox workshop in the Surrey area ? My 'box won't select top except on overrun and the changes it does make are 'slippy' - if that makes sense. Any recommendations welcome. Mark PS My car was the Skyline blue Z at the Brighton meeting. Thanks for all the positive comments.
  24. I've got the details of the spoiler at home - about £550.00 - I'll post it tonight if you want.
  25. Yep that's my car. Wings West spoiler from Motorsport INternational in Ashford and the paint by SE Nissan about 2 years ago - £2700 ! And it's definitely Mark - checked with my missus :D
