  4. Thanks Groover, ive checked all drain holes and all let water out down by the lower wing-sill section so i think i need new rubbers. as for the alternator ill give that a go tomorow. apparently theres a diagnostic code thing actually on the gear box that you do a sequence to get the codes. i know how to do the ECU one, but apparently this test can tell you if theres something up with the electrical side of the gearbox. ( apparently) will check that out too tomorow. no doubt ill be back.
  5. Yeah ill try that, where abouts is it? lol ive done a lot to this car, but not so much engine wise all ive done is the plugs, oil , filter and fuel filter and some vac hoses. but anything else looks a total nightmare in there, very tight! do you mean spray WD around the alternator housing? as in the holes in the housing? it does sound like the alternator. would a autobox make that noise in park and while reved? One more thing, ive this leak where the ECU is located, and was curious if anyone else has had this problem? do you think it could be the battery tray area? ive changed the targa rubbers for a secondhand pair i had and they tend to let water in onto the seats. but not if i park it uphill its ok. is there somewhere i can purchase new targa seals? ive tried various rubber solutions to try and make it swell up but doesnt swell enough i think its just wear and tear, apart from that and my whinning sound she's starting to come together.
  6. Ok update I dont think this is gearbox related as I got in it this morning and while in idle the noise is present also when you rev it goes along with the revs alternator possibly? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. Hi Groover is there a guide on how to check the diff oil level on here ?
  8. hi, ive checked the oil and it doesnt smell burnt, its level and the oil is red-ish in colour. so that must be ok. ive drove it home now and the whinning noise has gone. so no idea what that was maybe something got stuck? i will for peace of mind change the autobox oil and clean the swarf magnets as well just to be on the safe side, thank you all for your help.
  9. Cheers Paul will look into it Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

  13. Transmission problem? Been driving her every day for the last month with no issues got in today and noticed a whinning sound coming from the auto transmission was fine yesterday does this mean its on its way out or could it be a top up? I know that gearbox oil shouldn't really get low unless theres a leak, this has just happened overnight which I find odd, hoping its something simple and not a gearbox :( Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  14. haha yeah i did notice that after id finished, wont make the same mistake tomorow though! ;)
  15. Hi, decided to give this a try with cheap vinyl before i use the good stuff, what do you guys think?
  16. Thank you Jeff, and eveyone else ;) why i could find them ive no idea. ;)
  17. I think theres confusion along the line here. This is my problem, my dipped beam ( lower) are the bulbs i need to replace, as the stock ones are crap, so i bought a HID kit but what i done was bought a H1 kit by mistake, so all i need is a set of H3C bulbs along with the plug part so i can just plug them in, the thing is the only place i can find these are on ebay either usa or china, surely theres somewhere i can buy them in the UK? thank you all anyway for replying ;)
  18. thats the bugger! thats what i need, for my dipped beam as its so crap and the HID kit i have obviously are wrong cos they dont fit properly which i bet is causing my bad vision from the lights. where can i buy these bulbs?? i need a pair! and it is for dipped beam, not for high beam.
  19. The only ones i can find are the wrong carrier fittment, pretty much the same as what i have which dont fit, as my picture i posted earlier, they need to be notched, one end a half cirlce, the other a half square, cant find them anywhere apart from the USA
  20. By looking online, my car as standard has H3C bulbs 55 watt ( groover , do these H3C bulbs still remove from the sockets) as i tried pulling one out and just ended up with a bulb with two broken wires, does anyone know where i can buy H3C HID bulbs from that will fit correctly into my housing. the HID's i currently have do not fit properly so that maybe the problem with my crap vision. The picture below is what i need for my HID's to work correctly. but only available in the states or china.
  21. thanks jeff, ill look into it ;)
  22. 6000k 55 watt its that bad honest i can even drive the car at night cos i cant see!
  23. Hi Jeff, the bulbs i need are the dip ones, not high beam, as the standard ones are crap can hardly see 10 yards in front. i did have 55 watt HID's fitted but cos the lenses are projection type the output was even worse. what would you suggest as i cant even drive the car at night as the lights are so dim .
  24. Thanks groover I did have a tug at the bulb but must be jammed ill have a go thanks for the input :)
  25. Hi been searching ebay for some 100 watt H1's as my 55 watt ones are crap searched all over ebay and all they sell is the single bladed Type, there are twin ones but the metal surround does not look the same as mine, my bulbs have a square notch At one end and a half circle at the top so that it sits snuggly into the housing does anyone know of anywhere I can purchase these? Kind regards Leeroy
