Windscreen Pillar Trims
I just cleaned, primed and painted mine, it depends on the level of finish you require and the longevity required. I made the mistake of using a yellow primer (all I had at the time) and once you get a stone chip it shows, so redid them recently with a grey primer.

It may be obvious but I want to check!
The temp sensor makes sense - thanks Jeff! I have just ordered a replacement as for the cost (£11) it probably worth replacing since it looks like it was 28 years old! Let's see if this works. The spark plugs are only 500 miles old and I checked all the coil packs at the same time (all were electrically fine). Fingers crossed!

So, what is worth checking over?

It may be obvious but I want to check!
The Zed over the past day has refused to start. Until now it started within a second of turning the key. Now it turns over but refuses to start. Smells of fuel and the battery is six months old. I use the Zed 3-6 times a week to commute to work etc., but I suspect the starter motor has just died. Thoughts?

Becoming a sole trader
I run a consultancy now, but I started in a way where I got frustrated at what I was doing so I went alone. The first year was the hardest - I think I earnt about £7k before tax! But then the second year was a vast improvement as I had a year of self-marketing behind me. It takes time get going, and I did make mistakes that you learn from - like being open with HMRC, accountants etc, and having a good accountant is perhaps the most important thing to organise as they will pay for themselves. Just be aware of your employment T&C's - as the conflict of interest area is something most companies take seriously.

Parts needed for the Zed
Hi all, Whilst the Zed is at the Paint Shop having some attention, I thought it worthwhile asking around for a few parts I know the Zed will need when it comes back in a weeks time. So, if anyone has any of these which they want to sell me, please let me know! Passenger side scuttle panel A smaller carbon cannister (pref R33 Skyline or similar) - needs to be smaller than current one as will be fitting larger SMICs The side pieces form the front foglights that always go missing! A loom and lights for the rear number plate - currently have an illuminated plate, but I can't get decent illumination at night with it, even with SMD bulbs! Need to revert to std. Or find a TVR number plate dealer! A decent condition drivers electric leather seat. I have the usual bolster wear...would like to replace. A triple gauge panel, as I want to install oil temp/pressure & boost gauge. Ebay doesn't seem to have any decent ones, yet I see cars with decent ones fitted to the radio surround trim! Hard pipe kit for the tt engine - in any condition, including silicone couplers. Any help appreciated! Thanks! Greg

Godspeed Intercoolers question
It looks like I have some work to install them then! I'd be interested to see some pics of the filament mod and where the washer bottle was relocated to. I might to tart up the front bumper at the same time at the paint shop - can't have nice IC's and a crappy bumper! :)
-
Godspeed Intercoolers question
I got them for $100 for the pair so they are coming home with me! I could have got a Greddy front mount instead, but I was under the impression SMIC's are slightly better suited to the Z than FMIC's (although its probably just a personal preference thing - each owner to themselves!)..

Godspeed Intercoolers question
Hi all, Currently working in CA atm and have found a few good Zed owners out here. One has offered me a set of Godspeed side mounted Intercoolers. Q. Are they any good and are they a direct fit? Anyone got them on a zed here in the UK? Any help appreciated, as I think they will just fit in the suitcase if they are worth bringing home :) Greg

What a difference a month makes.
A month does make a difference - I did get the Zed out for some drifty fun in the snow, which was....fun! Now it is in the paint shop whilst I am here away working in Palm Springs. Currently in the high 90's, most days! So, if the end of March was snow, end of April sun, what can we expect in a months time? Floods maybe end May??

Did the earth move for you?
I was driving at the time. Wouldn't have noticed a thing in the Merc anyway. A few of my mates felt the tremors locally, but it's not like a 7.9!

The rarest part on a Zed - a battery side scuttle panel
I have been looking for ages for a battery side scuttle panel in any reasonable condition. At the moment all I have is a gap where water can meet the battery on a blustery day! I wasn't wanting to fork out for a brand new one as it might not match the driver side scuttle panel Can anyone help me find one?

Rare parts thread
Oh OK. Then my zed has odd clocks! At least they work I suppose!
-
Rare parts thread
OMG - Aus. Well it has a boost gauge and looks oem tt as far as that its a series 1 tt. Just apart from the 260km/hr clocks. Surely Aus had tt's as well as N/A's?
-
Rare parts thread
I have 260km/h clocks - unbranded though. No clue where they are from, apart from possibly Japan as its an import zed. No markings on the rear either.

Rare parts thread
I have one of these on my Zed fully working. Currently have a normal registration plate in, but am investigating the TVR plates that are translucent.

Favourite Film Films
For me it is a series of 80's and 90's movies, plus a few modern ones: Directorially, I am a Luc Besson fan, so my fave movie is also a Natalie Portman movie - LEON. Jean Reno and Gary Oldman as well! Some of the dialogue is just brilliant. And then, the Alien trilogy (just like Si), Full Metal Jacket, Fight Club, Akira, Ferris Bueller, the first F&F movie, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, Goodfellas and more recently Lucy and The Ghost in the Shell. All the above I must have watched countless times. The first Alien movie still scares the crap out of me (I first watched it as an 8yr old)! Alien Covenant wasn't that bad really as well.

Sturminster Newton Meeting
Sherbourne is much closer than Coventry! But a trip to Coventry appeals - never been to the agm. Ah decisions!

Sturminster Newton Meeting
Barely ten miles away from me and I didn't know about it!

Newbie :)
Like any car, I always look at the service history. It gives me an indication of its use.
