  1. I'd need to find a pair of teeny-weeny Recaros to put in my one of these!
  2. No, he kept telling me to make an offer for them - when I did, he told me someone else had offered more so I'd need to offer more. I got a bit bored with that and the next thing I knew, they were apparently going to Italy. It looks as if they either didn't make it there or got sent back again....
  3. As I said before, the seller (if it's the same chap) messed me around back in 2014 and then claimed he'd sent them to Italy for over £300... but the pictures on that recent listing are the very same pictures that he sent me.... Hopefully they'll actually be delivered for you! They're rare inasmuch that there were less Z32s fitted with the optional Recaros than were fitted with the standard seats. But if you want to fit Recaro seats in any car, you simply can't do better than using Recaro's own mounting rails :thumbup1:
  4. I don't imagine there'd be any issues from our existing dogs - Marley (the GSD / Collie cross) is a proper wuss, although he doesn't seem too keen on Huskies for some reason... and Rocco (the Labrador / Whippet cross) will stand his ground against anyone and anything, but he just wants to be loved and secure. Awww. They're both rescue dogs and both very friendly with other dogs (except Huskies), as we have her parents' Dalmation bitch here every so often and it just descends into comical carnage! Honestly, my concern would be with the new dog, and not because it's a GSD or anything like that. When we got Rocco (we already had Marley), he'd come from a really poor background and all he wanted to do was bond with Fran. Nothing wrong with that, except he wasn't keen on me or Marley going near her... Marley especially saw some teeth in the first few days! Marley's nature is that of a pushover though, so Rocco got what he wanted and there was no bloodshed involved. But what if the new boy wants to bond with her...? Rocco wouldn't just let himself be pushed aside... could be trouble.... I think it's a nice idea but the actual logistics of having three dogs is more than likely going to stop this going any further. I just thought I'd find out what people thought. :) Oh, Andy and Dean: those pictures are to die for!!!!
  5. The rails that you've bought, and that I have fitted in my own Zed, were made by Recaro specifically so their Speed seats could be fitted directly into a Z32 as an optional extra.
  6. I think part of her reasoning is that I'm at home all day, every day... I suspect she forgets that I don't just sit around watching Top Gear though. I currently walk both of ours every morning so she doesn't have to rush around before work, but I can't see me successfully doing that with three hounds! It's all pie in the sky at the moment, and I'll make sure I get any deciding vote... I just think she's crackers...! I did indeed, mate. Sounds like your missus and mine would get on perfectly...! :thumbup1:
  7. All Recaro Speed seats share the same bolt pattern on the underside of the seat, Dan - aside from the actual trim on the seats themselves, there's no physical differences between those fitted as an option by Nissan and a pair of Speeds bought from a Recaro supplier. :thumbup1: Did you end up buying the ones you linked, Dan? I found them really easy to fit aside from one of the rear bolts on each seat. I found I had to dismantle half the runner to be able to bolt the seat up, then reassemble the runner afterwards.
  8. Anyone who was at JAE last year can't have missed the fact that Fran and I arrived with our two dogs in tow. They were, for the most part, supremely well-behaved and they certainly ate better than we did  They're both absolutely lovely dogs, each with their own distinct personality. :) Fran loves dogs. She properly genuinely is what people call "a dog person," and so am I. I've had dogs all my life and would honestly never consider living without one. They can, of course, be extremely limiting, especially if you want to go on holiday or for a cheeky weekend away. We wouldn't entertain the idea of putting them in kennels - been there done that and suffered the consequences - so it falls to asking her family to look after them. This is just with two dogs. So why, in the name of God, does she want to go and get another dog...??! Specifically, this one: Dogs Trust link Thoughts, please. :thumbup1:
  9. Please tell me they're smoked...!!! :D
  10. Mott The Hoople's drummer has passed away as well :( I think it's gonna be crap year for heroes... :( :(
  11. How I loathe the Confetti trim...!!
  12. I get what you're saying here, but I think you're possibly looking at the situation wrongly... This is a very prestigious show, which is partly designed to highlight "the cream of the crop" as it were. "Borderline immaculate" (as I put it before) would be a very nice condition for any of us to have our beloved cars in, but realistically, very few of them are. Case in point: Ian Greenfield didn't want to put Zebedee forward for last year's show because he acknowledged that were a few niggles that he felt (and I'm paraphrasing here) might let down the overall presentation... a stonechipped front end was one of them, I believe. Yes, these cars are designed to be driven and enjoyed, and most members do exactly that. The only car I can think of off the top of my head that doesn't really get driven anywhere is Jason Farrow's Beast and that has been built primarily for entering and winning shows. Everyone else's Zeds rack some miles up every year and some, like yours and indeed my own, live outside on a drive. That's not a bad thing at all (although a garage would be preferable, for me at least). If you're aware that your trims and interior look tired, then spruce them up and put your car forward. :) Plenty of people have tidied their own trims up, rather than buying brand new ones - I only bought new ones because I had the money available at the time and, ultimately, I'd like my Zed to be an excellent example of the marque in the future. :) In the case of the NEC show, presentation is simply everything. :thumbup1:
  13. It states in the listing that they were Recaro rails. They are, in fact, the factory Recaro rails for the Z32 as they're identical to the ones I have fitted in mine. I've also a sneaky feeling that the seller was the same guy I was in talks with back in 2014 who told me he'd sold them to a guy in Italy for over £300.... *uh huh*
  14. Sounds like I got "mates rates" all cocked up then!
  15. Same colour leather and Alcantara, mate - I'll be playing about with the design and layout though :thumbup1:
  16. Especially the Recaros! :thumbup1:
  17. It will be later this year as I'm redoing the whole lot...!
  18. Ta-dah!! Ta-dah!! Again! Close, but the website just lists guide prices as every job is different. Front and rear Z32 seats in straight black leather would be £1k, Danny :thumbup1:
  19. Worn trims and the like probably won't "pull their weight" under the kind of scrutiny that (I imagine) the show cars come under at something like the NEC... The likes of Si, Joel and AndrewG will be better able to advise than I can though. :)
  20. That's a shame, Lexx :( I really hoped there'd be something on this year in his memory. £45 to camp and stand in a field for 3 days, or circa £500 to drive around a beautiful country in a beautiful car.... Hmmm....
  21. Has it been in a fire....?
  22. For an auto or a manual...?
  23. "Borderline immaculate" is pretty much the yardstick for a show like this!
  24. If he's sitting on £25k of parts, I doubt that £20 to sell to a dedicated audience is going to be much of an issue....
