  1. Bolt I read it as air to fuel ratio, so a low number is not a lot of air for the fuel, rich in the midrange. And it sounds like you are underfire on overrun. Thanks Paul I could pop round we could test it then zed about a bit. If you didn't know it was rich you couldn't tell really it drives sweet and pulls well so I am quite happy, it had 280 HP twenty years ago and has 320 now so it's aged well. I'll get the other 50 soon.
  2. £20 sent via pay pal for my first membership :-) Thanks again guys it's about time I signed up.
  3. I don't have the proper tester, I will reposition the Hardpipes and have a poke around, you would hear a leak wouldn't you? I hope it's not the Selin dual MAF translator? It shouldn't be, any chance it's the 02 sensors. I want to get a proper ecu and remap done what what do you recommend?
  4. Front to back. Twin Apexi filters with a Selin dual MAF. Standard Smics with silicon and z1 Hardpipes. 14/15psi through a hks evc5 ebc. A eprom chip from zedworld fitted during a zedworld service which set the timing right and the engine is in good nick well serviced. Turbo back twin 3 inch Janspeed exhaust with decat. No dump valves, standard recircs and it has auto turbos. fairly standard. I don't think there is a boost leak or at least not an obvious one but I'm Gona re jiggy all my Hardpipes anyway they have a mish mash of clips atm so for aesthetics if nothing else. - - - Updated - - - Front to back. 5. Sorry they are portrait and a photo of a bit of paper but you can read them. It is running rich as hell? Dead O2 sensor/s?
  6. Check out the Birthday T shirt!!! I also got jubilee clips :-) - - - Updated - - -
  7. Ha thanks guys, a nice suppose! I have been quiet lately but I've been checking in. I need to put up my dyno print out for diagnosis and I am going to get the red wedge one step closer to perfection. Also I need to become a proper member, I will do that today who do I pay? - - - Updated - - - *surprise
  8. Reading that link, I fitted a Selin dual MAF with 2 Apexi filters and it was good but wasn't 30hp good! It revved more responsively in neutral had more of a 5Krpm rush and was a bit quicker. 10hp perhaps? Spooled a bit quicker but I did hard pipes at the same time. I am stuck at work btw posting at this time of night on new years eve!
  9. It may sound mad but I have a boost controller on the way special delivery and have a garage (evotune) prepared to fit it on Thursday/Friday. No melted pistons for me :-)
  10. You are right I'm buying a hks evc5 boost controller right now.
  11. I wonder if they could do it this week? Probably not as it has to be a couple of days to fit a boost controller right? If I could get it done before my track day it would be good. I will give them a call...
  12. Track day this Saturday at croft. Open pit lane on track 9 to 5, £220 105DB limit. I'm booked on it and there were 8 spaces left. I hope it rains my car will have a far easier time of it if it does.
  13. that sounds like a plan harby, wait out on exactly when we can do it ill have to speak to them. Its good to have somewhere recommended, I don't want some guy that does ford focuses all day long trying his hand at my zed!
  14. Yeah that's the one, which is why it's got to be +/- 1psi. I'm planning to take it on risk one last boost gamble before winter on the track day. I will let it warm up and cool down as always change the oil and plugs before hand keep an eye on the afr and oil temps. Had i not fitted the gauge i would have been booting it aboit oblivious to the high pressure. It will be off the road from the end of the month anyway. Jeff thanks for the offer I think I'll go for ebc, where can I get one fitted in the north east? Perhaps get it on a rolling road too?
  15. is that possible on a drive, reaching in from the top and what size should I use for 14 psi?
  16. My car has stock auto turbos, injectors and internals with 60,000 miles on it. A couple of months ago zedworld gave it a good looking over and got it running sweet also fitting an eprom and setting it to 13.5psi. The car does not have an EBC so I assume Jeff used boost jets??? After this I had the knock sensor fail and bypassed it, it only gets v power or equivalent. But! I just fitted a drift iridium boost gauge because the stock one was off the scale and in mm of mercury. It shows 17/18 psi. I fitted a Selin dual MAF and Hardpipes but it shouldn't be that high. How can I turn it down is it possible without buying a boost controller? (I will get one at some point) also will it die in one go or just wear out more quickly. What has brought this to a head is that I was thinking about one last drive this year being a track day on Saturday and I am having a heart versus head moment. Thanks.
  17. Thanks for the warm welcome and for pulling over to wait guys! Somethings wrong when I'm slowing down at my age!
  18. I will do my very best I should be able to make 2 pm. Look forward to it can someone text me a number?
  19. 07585 118 109 text please because I'm at work.
  20. Hi guys sorry I missed the post first time round but I'd love to meet up tomorrow afternoon. I'm travelling from Alnwick to Bishop in it tomorrow so Newcastle area is perfect.
  21. That steams, is a class idea. I'll pull the bugger back through then lol. It doesn't have a boost controller I don't think as there is no little electric box inside anywhere and I can't change it. I didn't ask at the time and I am learning as I go here so he must have used boost jets??? What I will do is get the afr going and see where I'm at, if it's lean rather than turn it down I will lift my right foot a bit and buy some injectors, onward and upwards :-) And possibly a boost controller.
  22. Great thanks for that I have all 3 through the firewall now. The boost gauge works a treat and I've ordered an oil filter sandwich plate to get oil going and I'll do afr when I can. BUT! It is showing 17.5psi. That's a bit high right, a few months ago Jeff at zedworld set it to 13.5. Would my Selin twin filter and Hardpipes I've installed add that much to it? Will it die on standard turbos internals and injectors? A bit worried.
  23. I am installing 3 drift iridium gauges below the radio. I am having trouble getting the sensor wires through the firewall, I have the boost one through and it doesn't leave space for the other two. I think I can see an O2 sensor just behind the turbo in the top of the exhaust, I have to intercept the signal between that and the ecu. I suppose this can be done in the footwell can anyone advise me. From what I know it is not a wideband so it is a... Narrowband? And I realise it will be afr on one side only. The oil temp should be easy enough, any more advice on getting through that bloody firewall would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom.
