Car Security Advice
You dont need to link into the nissans cdl relay at all because the nissan does NOT have a cdl motor in the drivers door (because normally you lock drivers door with key which activates a switch triggering the cdl relay which then opens/locks other door. You have to fit a motor into the drivers door (easy job) which is clamped to the cars lock/unlock system that is moved by the key. The alarm then operates this motor which in turn works the cdl Paul.

Car Security Advice
Hi Colin, there is no major probs in fitting a 650 to the Z. The turbo timer should be no problem and work happily alongside the 650 (the starter wire isnt used by a turbo timer because the engine is already running!) . The starter wire on the Z is a thin wire as it goes to a relay. You have to fit an actuator into the drivers door on a Z to work the CDL so the alarm pulls actuator down this working CDL switch in door which locks or opens other door. If you pm me your email address i w0ill send you the install guide for the 650 Paul.

Total closure - Wires?
Test to find out which wire goes live +12v when window is going up then CUT that wire. Then on the MOTOR side of the cut wire put the up wire from closure and on the SWITCH side of the cut wire put the switch wire from closure kit FRONT LEFT = GREEN or BLUE (age dependent) FRONT RIGHT = WHITE/BLACK Paul.

immobiliser/alarm on imports...
NO. alarm wont arm with ignition on. Best to go for an alarm with its own inbuilt turbo timer

immobiliser/alarm on imports...
Most cat 1,s will arm without locking after 30 secs if you dont arm with remote after getting out of car aswell as re-arm with locking if the door hasnt been opened and remote wsa pressed by accident or you didnt open door within certain time limit after disarming. Paul.

S5-R Snooper Safety Alert System.
I use a GARMIN C310i which is a touchscreen navi system with a built in GPS speed camera database and a LIDATEK LE-30 which is a lazer diffuser system which gives me six secondsd to adjust my speed if neccessary when it picks up the dreaded mobile lazer van. It has picked up every van that i have ever encountered and saved me from definate points on 3 occasions already  Also the passive lazer detectors on most warning systems are a waste of time due to the mobile van only needing .6 second to hit you and record your speed which means by the time you react to it the chances are they have already got you. Paul.

Clifford alarm
Clifford prices have dropped slightly since the introduction of G5 but £1000+ is still a lot of cash! Basically the AG5 is everything that clifford does in the one box, but a competant engineer should be able to instsall and setup in one full working day, so £270 is quite enough for me for a days labour :) Paul.

Clifford alarm
I thought youd have heard of them!! I went out to a mk2 astra gte last week whose owner had paid gap £1100 for a 650p with intelistart only six weeks ago. Car wouldnt start and alarm going off all time and vehicle kept cutting out, doors locking/unlocking. Found alarm thrown in and hanging down behind glovebox, siren loose under bonnet, bonnet/boot trigger not wired, power and immob connections unsoldered, and for some strange reason was running the locking through relays?? but wires wornt crimped or soldered to unneccessary relays but were just wrapped round contacts!! And that above is just one of many!!

Clifford Alarm Again...
The new SIGMA S30 Cat 1 is a fantastic system (made by Toad), and due to its small size and its tiny Li Ion battery back up siren make it ideal for the ZX. Has plenty of extra channels for accessory upgrades aswel, and like clifford it needs to be set up by an engineer on a dedicated Sigma handheld programmer. Paul.

Help - Alarm fitting, Ignition coil wiring
!!DO NOT CONNECT THAT WIRE TO ANYTHING!! It acts as a receiver, that is why you have to wrap it round HT lead several times so it acts as a pick up coil to tell alarm that car is running. If you bare back the sleeving on this wire you will notice that it is only a single strand wire and not multi strand like all the others. Connecting this wire to something could damage the car, the alarm or both!! I am an alarm fitter with 13 years experience and have seen this system loads of times. Best Rgds, Paul.
