  1. As usual you guys have surpassed with ideas. I will get back on the case in the morning and fill you in with what was successful or not. Thank you dearly.
  2. That's the plan for tomorrow, hopefully it will work. Tried unlocking and locking... tried a you tube reset and then the fob stopped working with the car and I had to use the spare one which again had the same issues. The only thing is I didn't disconnect anything to clean the bay apart from the air filter. Thanks.
  3. Another one, not sure many will be able to help unless with the car but after adding the metalwork back to car after cleaning I decided to start it and it wouldn't turn over or anything...then the alarm went off and the only way to stop it was to put my foot on the brake. Its now stuck on the drive in Park, with the battery off charging, just in case, although it was at 12.2V when read which should be sufficient to not cause these issues...right? Might have to call the auto electrician on this one, especially of I cant get it off the drive! Zany suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Steve
  4. And as I have said I will in future if the problems dictate, travelling is not an issue, money is not really an issue and Shrewsbury and Bristol are only a handful of miles for me as I live in the middle. At no point have I disagreed with seeing a specialist for issues with the car. I am nearly 40 and I'm a public School teacher at one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the country and reckon I have a fair bit of common sense and understanding. I know what I need to do. I do feel like most who are posting are treating the fact I had work done by someone else other the countries top specialists like its the end of the world...I have never said in the handful of posts that I wont see someone who knows theses cars and I have had the issue solved which was only a rusty connector. Thank you again for all comments and your help, I kid you not if it wasn't for you guys I would still be scratching my head and teh car would be dormant on the doorstep but please can we leave it now about using someone else instead of the recommended. When the car blows up because of poor CAM BELT work, you can say I told you so but until then I am happy that the problem was fixed and that it was a slight oversight which was solved within 24hrs!!!
  5. Fair comments, I had all the idlers and bearings changed also as they were all rusty. There was also damage to a few parts due to a previous person having a go at removing parts, gave up and reassembled. It started as a simple £310 change and then had to add on for the extra components that needed to be replaced. I will be using a specialist for future issues....I promise! I also know that the cosworth is different, I'm not that much of a car noob, I was just saying that he is very good with sports like cars and I trust him.
  6. Well ill be, someone on my journal thread posted a picture of the two sensors on top of the water pipe in front of the engine. Removed them, cleaned a bit, re applied and then boom... the radiator (front corner) stopped, the engine temp went up slower instead within 30 seconds and settled properly, the motor ran perfectly and the issues are all resolved. Thank you again, I needed some good luck and great advise before I lost my mind. Cheers guys. Is it weird to say I love you?
  7. HI guys, thank you so much for the info, well impressed. I know that I need a special specialist but the person I have been using for the CAM belt is a the go to man for Cosworths in Europe and I know its not the same car but when I called him this morning he had the same suggestions that you guys have outlined! He also said that they may have re- attached something that wasn't on before because it was faulty and disconnected. He is having a look, especially as I have just paid him nearly 600 for the CAM belt but I will definitely get it to Jimmer as and when these little issues are sorted and I trust the car to go more than 5 miles off my drive. I will tell my tech about the connectors and hopefully this will help. Electronics are not my forte. Thank you again.
  8. Cheers mate, after further investigation without taking anything apart and its seems to be coming from the front corner left (drivers side). Would that be where the fan in located...if so how much of a bugger is it to get to? Together we will crack this. Ill have a go tomorrow.
  9. I tried the card thing and the fan did stop with a touch of pressure but the roaring sound continued!!! Maybe its supposed to sound like that!
  10. Thank you. Another problem hopefully sorted.
  11. The viscous turns constantly, it's filled with a sort of wax and spring thing that once it hits a set tempreture locks up and spins at engine speed and will roar. Below this temp it runs at lower speeds. They tend to fail on, roaring constantly. Get some card and use it to touch the fan, don't use your hand. The resistance of the cardboard should be sufficient to stop then fan rotation. If not it's probably locked up. Spot on...ill try the card thing when I get 5 minutes today.
  12. Although I have read it has a variable speed but seems to be stuck on high...maybe that's what up.
  13. Not sure I understand what you're saying. Is it supposed to always be on and Ive never noticed or is it a problem to be looking into. The noise it makes when on sounds like a car that's sitting in traffic and the fan comes on to cool. Quite loud, you can hear it from inside the car, something ive not noticed before. - - - Updated - - - Not sure mate but I'm sure it didn't sound like that.
  14. Hi guys, since the CAM belt has been done the main engine fan is always on...when I start the car its on and when its warm its on, it never stops. Anyone have any ideas for this new problem.... Thanks in advance.
  15. Excellent, ill have a root around see what I can see... you guys are ace, thanks. - - - Updated - - - Same with all cars... they like making our lives easy!
  16. It is an 89 TT BUT it has a 92-94 engine according to the motor factors.....if that makes a difference. I will have a look in both places. Thank you guys for your help.
  17. Cheers dude, gotta give it a go... makes you feel all manly if it works!!!
  18. Bought one and should be here next week...small steps.
  19. That my friend is perfect.....Thank you. Easy to change?
  20. Hi all, been looking around for a while and decided to bite the bullet and just ask.... I am having low pressure issues in terms of when cold shows correct temp and then drops to 0 ish when warmed up. I have seen on here that you could try changing the sensor. Not being incredibly good at the mechanical stuff I cannot find a definitive image of what one looks like when out and on a table in front of me OR where abouts it is. I could also do with a bit of info on mechanical checking of the oil pressure. An idiots guide or image with a big damn arrow would be great too!! I know its a lot to ask but I will make it up to you all by attending a few meets when this badass is sorted! Thank you in advance. Steve
  21. Ill be up for this one too... I love Snowdonia.
  22. Today I painted the spare Cam belt covers (touched up what Danny did) added decals to the circular bits and will clear it tomorrow at work. Yesterday I Laser cut some press type pieces to temporarily hold the coil connectors down on the left bank due to them all being broken when I bought the car last weekend. 2 are fitted with the rear one not as of yet.
  23. Looking forward to it mate.
