I suppose if you have any doubts you could always replace the cats with some small silencers. I did that on mine mainly to keep the noise down on the Mongoose back end, but I'm glad I did now as I'm sure they offer a little bit of back pressure. De-cated six weeks ago and no problems so far, boosting at about 0.9 bar as well and boy did I notice the difference when the new exhaust went on, the change in the cars response was very noticeable. I'm pretty sure mine only comes on when I get all the dash lights on (is that position 1 or 2?), that's what I've noticed when I've had stuff plugged into it. Gaz

That's a thought but this is disconnected and the speedo works (and was in kph until I changed the R10 resistor). I have just had an alarm fitted and the guy doing it said the wiring behind the dash was a mess as it looked like someone had tried to fit or removed a turbo timer, so i wondered if it was anything to do with that. Went to replace the chip in my car with a DTA one only to find it's already chipped with a 'Central 20 Racing Team' chip, replaced it anyway as I want to delimit the car, but I noticed a nice story written on the sticker, it reads as follows: "The tachometer climbs rapidly up the scale and suddenly you feel it and you hear it. I assume it's a Japanese one labled as 'Central120 Racing team'. Made it a nice easy job to replace it with my new DTA one :) Also noted that a Yellow/Green wire was deliberately disconnected, anyone know what this wire is for or can point me to the wiring diagram so I can trace it. Gaz

Noticed a big change in the throttle response after the change that I put mostly down to the Jap restrictors being removed with the old exhaust. Gaz

Not bought from him, but for import duties if the parcel is picked up then it'll be VAT plus a handling charge from the Post Office of about £6. Bought quite a few things from the States and it's about 50/50 as to whether Customs charge you and it can also depend on how it's packaged and marked. Gaz

De-catted mine recently and have had no adverse effects apart from a noticeable increase in performance. I did opt for some smaller silencers in place of the cats, so that may hwlp with a little bit of back pressure. Mines a Jap import with about 75K (miles) on the clock. Gaz
