  1. I did not need to know this site existed, now I am going to be in a lot of trouble! :headvswal
  2. I suppose that sums it up! The engine that went in that Impala must have cost an absolute mint. Plus it only did 25 mpg! pretty sh1t for a diesel...
  3. I watched an episode of Pimp my ride the other day. It was a special "green fuels" episode! They rebuilt a 1965 Chevvy Impala and fitted it with a 6.6litre diesel engine and had it turbo charged and tuned to run on bio-diesel. They then sent it down the drag strip next to a Lambo Gallardo and it clearly won the race. Apparently this engine was pushing out 800bhp and 1400 ftlb torque!!! :wack: Personally I doubt those figures but there is no denying it hammered the Lambo. Now I hate diesels as much as the next guy but I would quite happily drive one if it had that sort of torque...
  4. looking realy good John. Can't wait to see it...
  5. that's a nice spec, with the brakes too it sounds like fun. Have you done anything to the suspension setup?
  6. I quite like the E30 bimmer :slap: and there has definitely been a lot of work gone into it!
  7. Who dragged this old thread up from the depths?
  8. I love it when Si is wrong! :nono: nothing personal you understand, it just puts a smile on my face... :D

Thanks...
  10. That's a shame Pete, I thought with your qualifications, if you were to pull a sicky nobody would doubt you! LOL next time eh!
  11. well they seem like reasonable excuses. Pete - you could pull a sicky!
  12. there is some interesting stuff on there but check out this excerpt "What "go fast" modifications are available? As with many cars, there are few major performance parts available for the non-turbos. Exhaust and intake kits, as well as computer chips are available, however they'll run you $1200-$1500 for a total of maybe 30 or 40 gained horsepower. If you have a non-turbo, and you really want more performance, I'm afraid the best conclusion is to sell it in favor of a turbocharged model. However, lots of companies offer performance packages for the Twin Turbo 300ZX. Many have multiple-stage kits available for the 300ZXTT. The "stage levels" of one will not necessarily correspond to that of another. The following is an exerpt from Stillen Motorsport's upgrade chart: (notice that the upgrades are cumulative) Stock 300ZX - 300 hp Stage 1: 320 hp @ 10psi - Performance Exhaust system Stage 2: 340 hp @ 10.5psi - Hi-Flow Intake Stage 3: 396 hp @ 13.5 psi - Computer Chip (My car is a Stage III) Stage 4: 405 hp @ 13.5 psi - Larger Intercoolers Stage 5: 418 hp @ 14.5 psi - Electronic Boost Control Stage 6: 450 hp @ 16.5 psi - Larger Turbos and Injectors Stage 7: 520 hp @ 16.5 psi - More tuning / dual intake Stage 8: 620 hp - Larger turbos and injectors Stage 9: Even more hp - Nitrous Oxide For the Twin Turbo, most owners who choose to modify the car stop at Stage III. This gives approximately a 100 horsepower upgrade, for a total cost of $1500 or so. The car retains it's sporty character and driveability, but turbo lag is reduced and 0-60 times should drop an extra .5 seconds. The difference in seat-of-the-pants performance is incredible, and well worth the money." This sh1t about stage 1, 2 3 etc just really winds me up. GGrrrrrrrrrrrr............
  13. There is going to be a fantastic Zed gathering on the 11th of this month. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: It is in the South East but should be accesible for quite a few of the other regions. So no weak excuses! Click here to see how Bad-Ass it's going to be...
  14. I think I may prefer this to the Audi!
  15. Another one bites the dust! Tis a shame, but glad you're OK...
  16. I saw an R8 up close and personal recently. They are fantastic looking cars, better looking than that AVUS. I really want one so I better start saving, £90k when all kitted up...
  17. I think it is a little complicated BUT what I can say is I have the problem when I am on my work computer running ie6 and no problem on my laptop running ie7...
  18. My turbo timer is set at 3 mins but most of the time I just drive at a slower pace for about 4-5 mins before I need to stop. Just use a bit of common sense. Personally I think it is safer for everyone if you turn your motor off when you are at the pump. I once filled up mu van in a garage in New Zealand and there was this fat old granny in the car next to me, smoking a fag while her car was being filled! I had to step in and tell her she might kill us all!
  19. There are a few really basic reasons why a boost gauge may not work but I think you made the right decision. Keep an eye out on the for sale boards here. you are much more likely to pick up a car that has been looked after, and occasionally you uget some real bargains...
  20.
  21. that's what I thought, but maybe Clarkson was exaggerating? I think it would make a good investment though. they made so few of them. Give it 50 years and that thing will be worth an absolute mint! Maybe a little bit girly of me to say, but I am not sure I would want that colour combo...
  22. Alright Steve? Don't know about HeXaking but what are you up to ? still racing around in BMWs?
  23. Why UK spec? do you want guaranteed rust? *picks an argument and runs for cover*
  24. That thing has got to be one of the quickest cars on the road. Well done mate, truly awesome...
  25. Ditto! You are all wrong! 19" screen and still have a silly little amount of the view obscured...
