Have just been into town for a few JD + cokes with the other half, went to get a chinese before coming home and saw a pretty tasty red zed going round st boltophs roundabout and then off up mersea Road. Haven't seen it about town before.

Best to use a hot air gun to soften the glue, or a hair dryer. Once hot, get a corner bit up and keep heating as you pull it. Problem is, the slower you peel it, the more glue it leaves on the glass. A lot easier and quicker with two people, one to heat and one to peel.

To be fair even the cheap units from HK are still pretty dam good. I had a flip out touch screen (think it was xtrons) and it was pretty jaw dropping how good it was and how many features it had. Unfortunately, I only had it a couple of months until some thieving tw4t stole my saph and torched it. But if you think about it, everything comes from the same factories, just with different badges on them. My boss deals DJ equipment, and when he went over to China to have some speakers made up for his own brand, they basically just showed him some that are already made for another company (well known budget DJ brand) and said they will stick his custom badges on and then have them shipped over in his own branded boxes.

Yeah, I have been watching this. Might put a bid in and use the engine to transplant into my n/a.

Thanks for your words of advice mate. Although I have come to my decision..... I'm guna keep at it :) I think I'm going to have to save up my loose change until I can afford a visit to our not so local (to me anyway) expert, Jeff. I will in the mean time, keep replacing parts of the fuel system, for example... Fuel pump ecu, feel pump etc etc in the hope the issue will be solved. I love my car too much to tear it apart even if it does keep p155in me off sometimes.

I'm starting to really think about just keeping it and plodding on with bringing it back to how it should be, both mechanically and cosmetically, just like I had originally planned. Maybe just buy an old sh1t box to get around in while its being sorted. I always have and always will love these cars and it would be a shame to tear apart a car that is in pretty solid condition, just because of a few minor issues. Think I may have to save up my pennies and then take it on the long trip to go see Jeff so a real specialist can shine some light on the issues.

If I do decide to start breaking mate, then I'll give you first refusal on the skirts mate.

I here what your saying Jeff, and if anyone knows what they are talking about, then its you. I haven't actually decided what I want to do with the old girl yet. I would love to get it fixed and keep it, but with lack of funds and no local garages that have the knowledge of working with these cars makes it abit of a nightmare. Also, my zed is my daily driver, so when things go wrong it is even worse as I can't just park it up and slowly work at solving the issues. I have asked for info on solving the cold running issue before but didn't really get any feedback, the garage I took it to half solved the cold running issue with a new aav but the problem still continues (not as bad, but it is still there). If I sold the car as is, I would get f*** all for it, probably less than what I've spent on repairs and parts. Where as if I broke it, I could probably make some of my money back, possibly enough to buy another zed.

Problem is mate, I've spent so much cash on garage bills and parts trying to get the current issues sorted (which still haven't been completely solved) that I am finally getting to my breaking point, especially if the big cloud of smoke means another huge garage bill.

Why have I never seen you about before seein as your in colchester? I have only ever seen another silver zed being driven by a bird around town but even she has disappeared.

I am asking this out of interest as I am only contemplating it at the moment. Its just I'm fed up now of the cold running issue, and today when I started her a large plume of smoke came out the back :( Its a 90 n/a manual Its got a full stainless exhaust (which for those who have met me said sounds the nuts) Jun front bumper Clear rear lights with 99 spec lines with matching lines running through the reverse lights. 18" azev staggered alloys Mid level spoiler Mono steering wheel Leather interior Etc Various new parts I also have some impul skirts and veilside rear bumper that I haven't got round to painting/fitting yet. Like I said, I am just asking as haven't made my mind up yet.

As title states, is there anyone in hull? Even better, anyone that would have a look at a skyline for me? Just to see what the condition is, how it runs and drives etc. Thanks in advance even if there isn't anyone.

i am sure that there is probably a thread like this already but i couldn't find it, so started another. I have just been watching a film called Macgrubber (quite amusing so far if you like films like hot shots etc) and i saw a familiar car in the back ground so took this poor quality pic on my phone for all to see. if you see any more zeds in films then i think there should be a sticky thread for all to see in the future.
