Little update. Had a little drive this evening with the hids in still and noticed that it wasn't just 1st my car didn't want to drive in, it was every gear but 2nd. Anyway, thought I would swap the old hid kit with the one I bought to use in my fogs, but it was doing exactly the same. So as a last ditch effort, thought, try the old shitty candle light bulbs that were originally in there and....... Hey presto!!! Problem solved! Still not sure exactly why the hids were causing such an odd issue, but like someone had mentioned, it must be down to the convertor behind the clocks. Hopefully I'll find some UK clocks asap so I can give the hids another try and see what happens.

I'm guessing the gearbox speed sensor mate. Apparently its a common problem, I had this with my old n/a. It didn't bother me as its not really that heavy when it stops working, just a bit dangerous when it comes back on half way round a round about.

I 100% agree, fix it!!! breaking it is the very last option!!!

I would love one of these to replace my One that has stopped working!! Although I would want it the same as mine with the 99spec lines continuing into the 4 clear chambers.

so what year did they change from series 1 to series 2? i have seen a set from a 92 uk tt and in the advert it says fits all up to 95. that was from andy300z on ebay, believe he is also a member on here.

can anyone help me out with this quick question? will the clocks from a 94 uk zed work in my 90 jdm?

As stated, I do have some of the red bulbs ( 221292357078 ) on the way to me, they should be here in a week or 2 so will keep you updated. Obviously you may not need red ones, I do as I have clear lenses on my brake chambers. Hopefully they will do what they are said to do, although I did buy 6 rather than 4 just to cover my back incase 1 or 2 get damaged on their long journey.

I have won a few times, although most of the time I buy two, 1 for me and 1 for the missus and she always has the winning one :( Once she won £100 on one I gave her and she wouldn't share it with me!

I have been in chats with the owner as I want the wheels, bumper, exhaust and interior. Just looking into getting it collected on a low loaderr at the moment.

So how do you remove the limiter if you have a JDM car with UK clocks?

OK, cheers for the info and help, I do have another set of ballasts so hopefully it will be as simple as Jeff's suggesting. Still want to swap for UK clocks though, so the question still stands... Will they bypass the speed restriction on a JDM car? Not that I want to drive that quickly :shifty:

To be completely honest I wouldn't know what I'm looking for as i had jeff fit it for me back in march.

Well I fitted my hid's at the weekend, one of the many jobs I have put off for ages, but now it has caused a very odd issue. When I don't have my lights on, the auto box selects all gears properly, up and down. When I have my lights on however, it doesn't want to select 1st and pulls away in 2nd ( or that's what it feels like anyway). I can manually select 1st and 2nd with the lights on, so makes me wonder what's going on. Its not the only issue caused either, as mentioned in another thread, my speedo needle also acts erratically when I first switch the lights on ( but this doesn't really bother me too much). As someone mentioned in the other thread, could this all be down to the convertor on my clocks? If so, if I was to replace with UK clocks ( which I am looking to get anyway), would this solve the odd issues? Also with UK clocks, I'm guessing they would mean I don't need the convertor to bypass the speed limiter? Sorry if these are stupid questions but its all got me a bit stumped at the moment.

I agree with si. The Jun bumper I had on my silver Zed was worse than that when I got it, but with a little work, was perfectly good again.
