Are you running Roy? Steve ;)
  2. LOL - nice one Charles. Show her who's boss :D :D :D
  3. Never done this before though... Car's behaved well for 7 years (apart from the PTU failure). I know you shouldn't floor it before the engine's up to temp, but shouldn't it be in safety boost until warmed up..? Steve
  4. No competition - HomieZ James! :D Steve PS. When's the next installment? We want more HomieZ!
  5. I live on quite a busy road and it's a bitch getting out of my drive sometimes. Yesterday, waited for what seemed like ages and eventually took a chance on a gap. Had to floor it to do it safely (I know... :slap: ) and the car didn't really launch well. In fact it sounded like the exhaust had fallen off (misfiring?). Got up to speed but still felt well lumpy. Got her down the road and pulled into a side turning and she stalled. Tried a rolling start and she fired up but then stalled when I stopped the car... Had a look around the back and no visible problems so started her again and no problems... Any ideas peeps? The engine felt very lumpy but has been fine since. Just wondered if there is anything obvious I should check. CheerZ Steve :) PS. Traction control was turned on but this felt much more severe than an injector cut.. PPS. Had a new series 2 PTU and doesn't seem like the same symtoms
  6. UPDATE: Modem sold - the science museum have just snapped it up! :D
  7. I've got a lovely US Robotics 14.4 modem you can have.. I'm open to offers - where shall we start the bidding? Steve
  8. Sorry Danny - they lied :( Steve

  10. Happy birthday mate! Have a goodun :smw: Steve :duffer:
  11. I had it up on axle stands when I noticed it, but I'm sure you would be able to see it with the wheels on the floor. Let me know what you can see down there... Steve :)
  12. Never noticed a problem on eithor of my UK cars. Here's what Nissan had to say about it... Steve
  13. I'll drop my UK brochure round tonight mate and you can scan it directly.. Steve
  14. Thanks fellas - that looks like the one! There doesn't seem to be loads of fluid coming out (no puddle on the garage floor yet) but will keep an eye on it.. From that diagram, what do you think may need replacing (or should I just replace the whole assembly)? CheerZ Steve
  15. Was under the car tonight and noticed a bit of a wet patch I've not seen before.. Seems like an oily residue around the connector concerned but the connector (a rubber sleeve) seems very loose and can almost be pulled away from the joint. Am I missing a seal/clip or something and if so what can I fix it with? Any advice appreciated as usual... Steve :)
  16. LOL - I'm pretty sure that's the turbo seals Mike - started to show about 2 months after decat! 80,000 miles on the clock. Don't know whether the oil seals going are because of the higher boost levels - guess it could be... Anyway, very rarely get any smoke. Only if it's been idling for about 10 mins especially after a heavy run. It was smoking a lot more than usual at Thor - honest guvnor! :D CheerZ Steve
  17. Go for the boost jets Mike - so much cheaper! I've been running mine for about 3 years at over 14psi and never felt the need to "turn it down". You just use the loud pedal to suit the conditions. Would still advise a boost gauge so you can keep an eye on things - mine only cost about £30 and works fine. CheerZ Steve :D PS. Still running stock UK chip with no detonation.. :hyper:
  18. ChrissyP & Danielle SMW1 & XCK1 Steve & Sarah We may have to shoot early as we've got to be back at Pease Pottage by 18:00.. Should be fine though! CheerZ Steve
  19. Used to get 200 miles to a tank of unleaded. Now getting about 250 to a tank of Optimax.. Cost varies, but I'd estimate about £55 for a full tank (81.9p a litre at the mo) Steve
  20. LOL :xxx: :D :D I thought you were getting all serious then mate! ;) Steve
  21. Put me down for £20 as well - good luck fellas! Steve
  22. I might be up for this with the family depending on start/finish time.. What time were we thinking about? CheerZ Steve
  23. Looks great Stu. I think that the JDM Zed in that colour looks superb. Go for it m8! Steve
  24. Jock got Halfords to mix up a matching colour spray for his import. Not sure what he gave them (chassis no etc..?) but I'll ask him to reply to this thread when he's on later... CheerZ Steve
  25. Sorry james - I missed that link. Looks good though and I'll be able to have a proper read later on today! CheerZ Steve :D
