  1. That would be a really confusing sentence to someone that didn't know what it meant lol On the high powered builds what is it that actually wares out that requires it to be rebuilt after a measly 3000 miles? I appreciate it's being pushed the entire time if it's doing track work etc but seems extreme. Is it a case of high performance parts but high rate of ware on everything?
  2. Yeah I was identifying my mistake bud :pinch::wink:
  3. Jimmers Z is near enough 500bhp and never heard of the engines he's done for people going wrong but not sure what they are putting out. What's the most common causes of failure? Are people just trying to get to much out of stock engines or not setting them up right?
  4. Awesome! By solid subframe you mean it has solid mounts to the chassis right? Is that a really harsh ride? Those tyres look mean and cost a pretty penny. Do 305's fit in the arches or did you have to modify the inner arch or are you a wideboy, there's nothing in your rides. Build thread anywhere?
  5. What suspension setup and tyres are you using Jaffa?
  6. How did you go about clearing the blockage Jeff?
  7. There is a workshop manual, I have the .pdf already but it doesn't really help if I don't get the right one for the year of the engine
  8. Cheers Steams, it was more the differences with years I was concerned with things like the fuel rail and the replacement of sensors given that there are something like 5 different types of TPS. It's not the end of the world I just thought it would be easier to know so I could order parts in advance
  9. True. I was thinking that knowing would make buying parts easier i.e. sensors, new injectors etc but if it's a mash up then i'll have to remove bits and identify them as I go I guess
  10. Hi guys, As per the title, it's an imported engine so no chance of finding out through the DVLA. Cheers
  11. When I read it the date at the top said yesterdays date. Today it says todays date.....
  12. I just got one delivered from Zedworld for £20. If that fails your heater matrix is probably blocked so you can pull it out and try and clean, or get another one or there is an option that Vodkashots told me about which is from a Nissan Primera from a certain year ('99?)I think it was, that fits and is alot cheaper than a new Nissan item.
  13. SWB twin turbo manual is the way to go. In my opinion cars like this are cheaper during the winter so get one now if you have somewhere safe to store it. If you are paying to store it I would just wait until you get back and spend the extra you saved on an even better one! Have a look in the Cars for sale section there are some bargains in there. Good luck dude!
  14. Happy belated birthday dude, did you have a good day?
  15. I really don't have a clue, I just came across that article when I was catching up with what the world has been doing. Shame it went shit, used to be such a good read when I bought it last.
  16. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/8279520/Remembering-Max-Power.html It's all over! I used to read Max Power and Revs religiously in my teens and early 20's, absolutely loved them
  17. Where in Dorset you from z32bolt? And yourself Murt?
  18. Cheers for that Mark, I thought that might be the case with the 1.5l per turbo as when I did some research into mine I found they were meant to be uprated turbo's for S14's. If a turbo was originally built to use a 270 or 360 degree bearing can it be upgraded to ball bearing? What were yours to start with and what are they going to be once refurbed?
  19. Can someone explain how you go about reading turbo charger specs? The bits i've gathered so far are ball bearing is best right? 360 degree bearing is second best? Lighter and balanced is better and staggered gap oil seals stop oil leaking into the exhaust at idle. The bigger the turbine the better im guessing but does a bigger turbine cause more lag. Fill me in, im new to turbos
  20. Is that for the pair Mark? Just do it, you'll only kick yourself when it starts leaking past and puffing blue smoke after all that research and hard work:yes:
  21. Thanks curleykev, I must be getting muddled, anyone know what the freeware is that's a step up from standard conzult as I thought it was Datascan?
  22. Very nice! Can you tell us where you got them and what they set you back? I know MarkDerby on here is weighing up different turbos and prices
  23. Im getting a cable and serial to USB converter to connect it to my laptop. Im planning on getting them from eBay unless anyone has one they want to sell? Does anyone have a link to download Datascan as all the ones i've found are dead? Cheers:thumbup1:
  24. How accurate is a cold compression test mate?
