  1. I think Jeff's point is clear. There are people who are breaking cars as they are beyond economical repair and there are people who are breaking cars for profit. It's easy to see who is doing it as they post things such as 'I have lots of bits available what do you want?' and, 'I don't have that right now but I have more coming in soon'. If someone is selling multiples of something and are not a registered trader then they should be asked to register as a trader. It's not like we are working on an eBay scale of people doing it here, it's easy to keep track. It's not like a £100 for trading rights is alot anyway, sale of a few basic items off the car will cover it. If all us members that require parts were to post up in the wanted section then that would give traders like Jeff the opportunity to give their price for a tried and tested item with whatever warranty.
  2. Not pointless if you've done the basic mods. A lightweight prop should give faster acceleration, quicker throttle response, less stress on gearbox especially syncromesh, as they are tougher they will last longer, torque figure at the wheels should go up as well. If you can afford one get one
  3. Yeah Zedworld ones were £150 from what I remember
  4. Are the one piece props balanced? What's the views on carbon fibre props, does the extra cost justify the benefits? Anywhere in the UK do them cheap?
  5. Cheers just found it. Im asking more for the knowledge than anything else, last time I lived in the UK and was into modded cars it was all about the twin ground spark plugs if you remember them lol
  6. Cheers guys, still interested in more info on this if anyone has any? The standard plugs are platinum right? Any benefit of iridium and what's the deal with the electrode diameter?
  7. I thought shipping worked in bands e.g 0-10kg/10-15kg with it not getting that much more each band you went up. I've ordered stuff from the States before and while adding to my cart the cost of shipping stayed the same. You could ask them to put a lower value on the customs docket or mark it as a gift to give you a bigger allowance, i've done this plenty of times. Bear in mind that the value written is the value insured for.
  8. Smart bumper but hurry up and get rid of those yellow bits! :hurl:
  9. I know there is alot of info on the site regarding plugs but I still have questions The standard spark plug heat rating for the TT is 6 right? When you increase boost pressure along with adequate fuelling you increase BHP. The purpose of a colder rated plug being to remove the extra heat created by the higher performance from the cylinder quicker right? So at what increase in boost/bhp do you move up to 7/8/9 etc? From what i've seen there are three options of manufacturer: NGK, which seem to be the most commonly used by Z32 owners - HKS, which are bloody expensive - Denso, that i've been told make alot of HKS plugs but are alot cheaper and have a different heat rating system. Is there actually any difference between them apart from price? Do we need Iridium electrodes and is it a case of the smaller the tip the better? Cheers guys
  10. Paintballing is great fun, paintballs hurt more on cold days as well
  11. Just got the second quote through of £681.12. Damn I picked the wrong trade!
  12. The first job was basically to wire in a system for a loft conversion that has already been layed out: Connect up 4 sockets and 1 light switch to the ring mains that go to the consumer unit upstairs, then wire in the consumer unit to the 40amp cable coming from downstairs. All junction boxes and cable are sorted its literally the ends of the cables need connecting. Second part was to turn some single power socket into doubles in the master bedroom, move a couple of them of which I have already chased out the sockets. Move a BT point and connect it into then rest of the system for downstairs (just connect the cable to an existing one). Im still waiting for one quote, the first was £465 with me supplying all the sockets and switches, chasing all cables and sockets that are being moved and removing the floor boards and carpet where needed. Sounds like alot but really it isn't the bulk of the work has already been done it just needs plumbing together mostly. Im not a sparky but have worked alongside them in jobs alot in the past and would say that is a maximum of one days work for one competent sparky, plus the gang boxes, 10 metres of power cable, 5 metres BT cable so around the £300 mark but feel free to tell me if im dreaming :sneaky2::lol:
  13. That is so true, I went self employed about 6 weeks ago and have work lined up till the summer already. You should be making a mint as a sparky judging by the price the I was just given to get a job done on the house im refurbing!
  14. Cheers, luckily I was just asking out of curiosity as it sounds a bit tedious
  15. How big a job is it to split the headlamps for a clean? Will they require new seals etc when reassembling?
  16. I liked reading that mate, im in exactly the same position now. I do sometimes wonder why I picked one of the most complicated twin turbo charged engines for my first project instead of a nice simple RS Turbo with a simple, single turbo, 4 pot CVH as i originally planned lol
  17. Just noticed the GoPro on his roof, any idea if that footage is out?
  18. LMAO, what a mentalist, love it!
  19. Who do you work for daztomo? How much does a corner weighting setup cost with you? I've got a question for you on tyres as you seem in the know. If two identical cars have different width tyres, say a 275 and 295 on the rears. Does the one with the wider tyres actually have more grip for acceleration and cornering? Both weigh the same so there is less pressure per square inch of ground contact so is the same amount of friction generated? Also, if there is the same weight over both sets of tyres, wouldn't that mean that the bigger tyre is less squashed as there is a bigger surface area so both tyres put about the same of rubber onto the road? Are we better off spending money on better compounds rather than trying to squeeze a couple extra cm of rubber under the arches?

Nah, it's just the contrast between the colours, won't look anywhere near as obvious when its all the same colour, looks ace
  21. If you replace the hatch with the carbon one how much weight will you lose? If it does cause you problems you can always get it weighed at a specialist that does corner weighting where they weigh the car on all four wheels at the same time and will be able to tell you your weight distribution and advise you accordingly. Doesn't cost much. Ideally you want 25% of the weight on each wheel, so if you do need more weight at the back you could put ballast lower and more over the rear wheels than it currently sits so even if you don't lose weight in the end you will have lowered your centre of gravity which can only be a good thing! You have the option of traction control on your AEM don't you? I have the same size tyres on my Z, the fronts rub on the arch liner, do yours?
  22. It's ace! When a mate did his paramedic training years ago they told him to do CPR to the beat of "Boom-Boom-Boom-Another one bites the dust". They also added to make sure you don't sing out loud.
  23. http://www.accusump.com Which kit did you get mate? How do they get plumbed in?
