I did search! For 'balance bar' lol! Cheers for the link:thumbup1: Z's in Norwich atm not running, just had a a few days to have a look at it and see how all the equipment has been plumbed in. I live near Shepton Mallet not far from Yeovil, are you based at Yeovilton now? Did my work experience there back in school, great fun it was! I'll have a look at the meet details and if im not helping my friends on their house i'll pop down. Cheers for that Has anyone got any info on the how my open crank case vents should be piped in?

Balance bar diagram and crankcase vent info needed
Hi guys, I've been searching the workshop manual and the site for a diagram of the plumbing from and to the balance tube. I want to know what the pipes going to the small nipples on the drivers side are for? My car is a manual TT. Vods thought my bar might be a NA version so if anyone can post a pick of what a proper TT manual one looks like it would be really helpful as well. When I was poking around my engine during the week I noticed there are two metal tubes, one on each side that are not connected to anything which I believe to be for PCV (positive crankcase ventilation). Where should they be connected to? Back to the plenum? Cheers

Spark plugs
Yeah was planning on a couple of the Iridium 7's to replace those two ruined originals for now until I have a running engine. Will get a brand new set once its all ready to be used. If anyone has an old pair of Iridium plugs that still have some life that they can throw my way i'd be grateful.....

Spark plugs
Pulled the spark plugs out my car, had a look at them and noticed there are two different types in there as per the photos. Four of the better type and two of the originals. Have a look at the corrosion to the electrode on the left, the other was just as bad. The corroded ones look like the recommended NGK plug of heat rating 6 for a standard engine and the others were heat rating 7 which seemed to have coped alot better. Both are NGK.

Rear big brake conversion advice
Did you notice a huge difference in brake performance when you did this conversion and do they feel good? Humongous discs for the rears!

Rear big brake conversion advice
K sport should be able to tell you what the clearance needed is, then compare it to the inside diameter of your back wheels.

Track day!!!
Brilliant present, well done to the Mrs! 87.5db seems quite strict. If you have an aftermarket exhaust you should try to go down there beforehand and get them to sound test your car as if it's to loud on the day you will have to buy/hire some baffles that go in the end of your exhaust to dull the sound. You just need to make sure there is something suitable for the size of your exhaust. Ask them what they suggest.

wife paid off
Have to agree with this but remember court cases are messy, stressful and expensive so avoid one if you can. They sound like a bunch of knobs does she really want to work there after the maternity leave? If you can get a decent payout and still get the maternity pay then go for an option like that. Remember they don't want it to go to court either as it gets expensive for them as well, cheaper to pay you off better. Make sure she doesn't get bullied into signing anything at work. Good luck!

Soooo miffed off.....
But label everything so you know where it should go back to!

Soooo miffed off.....
Can you just remove all connections to the system made by the immobiliser to get the engine running and then sort it at a later date?

Identify my bits!
Thanks alot John, Is the Emerald system the one I saw a thread about recently that you are designing a TT base map for currently using a members car? Are you familiar with Megasquirt? I've been helping a mate build a monsterous off-road buggy and one of the first jobs we did was installing that, the program I have on my laptop for it makes it look very tweekable. Cost him about a grand, is waterproof and gave him nearly everything new for the ignition system.

Identify my bits!
Well that's bloody stupid isn't it! No wonder I was so ****ing confused! So the fuel computer isn't plugged in because the Greddy unit is doing the job now. Thanks for clearing that up for me everyone and thanks for your time its greatly appreciated

Identify my bits!
Just want to check as my photos and thumbnails are in reverse order but the one that says Fuel Computer on the front is defo the fuel computer right? As my reprogrammed ECU is sitting on the floor and not plugged in does that mean there are normally 3 ECU's in the passenger footwell? Main ECU/HICAS and PS/Fuel controller? I remember reading about the steering changing dependant on the speed you are travelling, is that what that ECU does along with the HICAS? Im trying hard not to get into chasing big numbers but I love fast cars and as the car has already achieved decent power and has so much there already to help achieve it it seems a shame not to make use of it so im thinking 400bhp would be a nice start then another 100 when im bored of that!

Identify my bits!
1. 2. 3. I've uploaded the pics of the 3 units again and the interior pic. Just so im 100% clear would you mind confirming what 1,2 and 3 is please so there is no confusion. Number 1 was on top of number 2 and number 3 was on the floor. Yeah I see what you mean about it being easier to go back to standard then add aftermarket from there. How does a VPC work and what are you the different things you are actually controlling with the four dials? Is it imitating the MAF and sending a signal to the ECU so it thinks it's still there but without there being the airflow restriction of the MAF? Cheers guys Cheers
