  1. Solenoid sticking me reckons. Anyone know if these can be replaced and if so are they easy to do or is it easier to just get a new starter motor?
  2. Yeah I was thinking that would get bloody expensive if you were using primo oil each time. Did you buy an oil drum's worth of oil?
  3. When you do the 100 miles after the change do you just use some cheap oil as you're chucking it almost straight away?
  4. Would some of that not have come from the undrained oil in the oil cooler?
  5. If you think it is the solenoid give the starter motor a whack with a hammer and it should loosen it. I've done this and it works to get it started but ideally needs the solenoid replacing to be fully reliable again.
  6. I hope when you fire it up again in the spring you drive it straight through that window in a blaze of glory! Do you do anything for the time its in storage like pump the tyres right up to stop them flat spotting or does it not matter unless you're leaving it a very long time?
  7. Outstanding news mate! Well pleased for you!:thumbup1: Where did they insert the high pressure hose to blast the system? Through the thermostat pipe? P.S. Told you my money was on it being blocked (well I was right on half the problem lol)
  8. That does look smart! Did the camber come from being lowered more or did you have to adjust the cambers arms in, to allow the tyres inside the arches? They really are the sickest wheels! What's the colour they are called?
  9. Fingers are crossed for you mate!
  10. Thanks mate, just wanted to get a rough idea when I have to do it.
  11. So how many litres of oil does my TT hold?
  12. Dave you could try contacting one of the people on eBay who are breaking their Z, im sure that would be quicker and cheaper than getting them sent from OS during the Christmas period
  13. Have you considered the Meister R's that were in the group buy? How do they compare against the BC's? I know alot of people really rate them.
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=heat+resistant+orange+paint&_sacat=See-All-Categories Try asking one of the eBay sellers if they will post abroad for you. Do they not sell heat resistant orange paint in Spain? Could you try Spanish eBay? Happy Christmas dude! :hyper:
  15. Well you learn something new every day! I also didn't even know there was a gearbox cooler for the manual either. It's driving me mad not being with my car and being able to pop out and have a look at things when I see them mentioned on here :headvswal
  16. Do they have oil coolers as standard then? Mine is an aftermarket one so presumed they didn't have one
  17. I know Paihia, nice place but I think you need a boat to fully appreciate it! How come you moved back? Bit like living in the UK 20 years ago?
  18. How many litres does a TT engine hold if you don't have an oil cooler?
  19. Yeah did over 5 years backpacking around, 2 1/4 of them im NZ, most of that being in Queenstown! Epic fun to be had there! What were you guys doing out there? I used to go snowboarding at Whakapapa, nice little mountain that if you're lucky enough to get a day when there is no cloud and can actually see where you're going :scared: Im literally going to be to be carrying my snowboarding gear around everywhere with me this winter, I have serious withdrawal symptoms!
  20. And they are called PEPPERS not bloody CAPSICUM!
  21. I thought there was no water going into the matrix from the engine indicating a blockage inside it, or did I get myself confused? If you do (but hopefully don't) go down the engine rebuilding route let me know and i'll come and give you a hand if im up to date with work and can be of assistance
  22. Ah nice, I was looking for one of these not long ago but cheapest I found was about £70. Do you have a plan on what you going to do about the blocked water passage, or awaiting Jeff's response?
  23. Alot cheaper as well from what i've seen:thumbup:!
  24. Good plan dude, you do mean a compression test kit when you say block tester? I still think you should just flush the bloody system out lol, go on, get the washing powder out
  25. I can understand why plasticote might have made a fan unstable, it comes out very thick and inconsistent compared to a layer of spray paint. Mark, is that paint suitable for refurbishing roof trims? I was going to do mine with Plasticote until I read this as i've seen some excellent results from people doing it on various different cars.
