  1. Will do, i'll strip it back tomorrow. Im glad it's been to cold to paint now!
  2. Cheers Jimmer, that surface rust was literally dust there was nothing deep at all just where the battery and PAS had leaked in the past and it got sanded with a grinder. Would you still sand the primer back and treat it?
  3. Nice one chaps thanks alot
  4. I realise you just got it sorted but I fished this out anyway. Two hoses with heat wrap
  5. Im reading different things on how to prep old paintwork for new paint. So far i've thoroughly degreased everything. Sanded off any bits of surface rust then rubbed with thinners and sprayed those spots with primer. Now how do I prep the old paint so the new paint sticks properly? I've read about keying the surface with wet and dry but isn't that just going to make it dusty? With the way thinners removes paint it seems pointless to sand it then rub with thinners or is that the way it's supposed to be done?
  6. It's a wise move I reckon, it's worth it just for the stress and anxiety it will relieve. Fingers crossed for ya!
  7. Interesting info Noz. Can the standard ecu map be tweaked whilst on the rolling road to adjust fuelling and timing to produce more power or is an uprated map a prerequisite?
  8. So Leigh paid for a load of work to be done on the engine that wasn't done? Who is this Chris guy?
  9. Not good mate that's gotta pee you off! Is there any major damage or did you get away with just a blown head gasket?
  10. That stuff is great i've got some, I also use a fibre glass pen that someone who services lifts on here recommended which is brilliant but wear gloves the fibres stick in your fingers http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIBREGLASS-CARBON-FIBRE-ABRASIVE-CIRCUIT-BOARD-CLEANING-PEN-PENCIL-10-REFILLS-/270971223928?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_TV_Boards_Parts&hash=item3f1724bf78 To finish off I use some marine grade contact gel that Boldy recommended but can't find the link
  11. Fit a motion sensitive night vision camera like this one descreatly in the car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IN-CAR-NIGHT-VISION-VIDEO-CAMERA-RECORDER-CCTV-HD-DVR-TFT-2-5-LCD-ROAD-ACCIDENT-/271005727642?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f19333b9a
  12. Yep all good thanks Richard, i'll most likely be giving you a shout in the next couple of weeks as im due to go down there to finish up that job. Just tying up loose ends here atm
  13. Cheers Mark, I was searching for pintle caps and had no joy but just found them on Z1 as 'injector caps'
  14. Thanks Trond but we don't run E85 in the UK as far as I know. Yesterday I removed my fuel rail and have found two of the injectors have lost some of the cover off the end. Is this a problem, should they be changed? Can anyone identify what series my CAS is?
  15. Yeah that is mega wrong in my eyes, I hate people that knowingly do this sort of thing. Fair play for doing what you can mate:thumbup1:
  16. Did you get this sorted Rob? Any useful info to share? :detective:
  17. I live in Norwich now and yeah there are some nice cars around this way. I was in the local Aston Martin garage's workshop a couple of months back and there was well over a million quids worth of customers cars sitting around and on the lifts in there. Seen a few Zeds round here as well, a mint Lancia Delta HF Turbo, tons of Lotus' and a couple nice Ferraris. I work down in Beaconsfield sometimes and you can't look out the window without seeing a nice car drive past. Only thing that sucks about Norwich is it's not near anywhere and the transport links are dismal, really needs a motorway to the M11
  18. How come you're not going for a carbon fibre or GRP boot? One of the biggest weight savers on the car isn't it?
  19. Are you going to use those Grams wheels off the spare Zed? They must be pretty light?
