Let me tell you what makes this club so great....
Nice one Rolandas! Whilst on the subject of members going out of their way for other members, I am one of the people Mr Mattin has delivered parts to even after his round got changed he went two hours out his way to drop my turbos off for me. Sorry for not thanking you publicly already Paul, the Zed has been put to the back of my mind over Christmas :thumbup1:

What's a sensible boost for a 300zx on stock engine?
All you need to understand is that you need another Z....:tt2:

Parts Washer
Where did you get a new one like that for £60 mate? Is it safe with solvent degreasers?
-
So who reconises the new addition?
I like the meaty look of those T clamps they look so much better and more robust than crappy jubilee clips. Did you get them from SFS in the end? What did the set cost you?

Thanks for the info. At what point do we need to uprate the headgaskets? Can the standard Nissan headgaskets take whatever stock tubs can throw at them?

If a Zed is running an EBC can you still make use of the stock knock sensor to either alert you to knock or reduce boost like the standard system or do you have to map it taking into account conditions that may occur and make it more likely, like hot weather?

zed wont start
Yeah would be fine mate, like Brian said it's only to top up what the immobiliser/alarm uses so it's ample. I would go solar but if you go mains powered i'd get a battery conditioner over a trickle charger for optimum battery health.

You could try a solar powered trickle charger if you're leaving it for extended periods over the winter Gary

Another Insurance Thread
Got to ask this as from the sounds of things if you're not worried aftermarket parts being replaced like for like then you don't need to declare them from what Dave@FJ said but I thought insurance companies would do anything they could not to pay out in the event of a claim so having a load of undeclared mods on the car would make that pretty easy for them. What's the deal?

Another Insurance Thread
When i've called around for quotes I got alot of knockbacks but Sky Insurance weren't bothered by anything. Now insure my daily driver with them as they do a multicar policy

Battery type
Chris glad you asked this as I was just starting to think about getting a new one as mine is shot. After a quick search the most useful thread I found was this, if you find anything better let us know what you get. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?164793-Right-Battery&highlight=battery

finally got my car back
Really nice, I think the black piping really sets the interior off and makes it look alot more oem than some of the ghastly retrims that get done. Is that a red LED for the alarm on the right of the right hand control pod?

Targa roof is leaking like a sieve
Sounds like a good idea. If the talc doesn't do it go to a builders merchant/Screwfix etc and get a chalk line refill like this http://www.screwfix.com/p/stanley-blue-chalk/79406

Do you think it's worthwhile for what you and Bob do?

Might as well get the 2.5" intercooler/piping/throttle body setup

the Achilles heel of the z32?
http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298056 It's a long thread now but this fella from UAS on the Oz site changed the front pivot point of the upper camber arm and a load of other bits and reckons it's a whole lot better than stock for performance

One Piece Prop - yes or no
I was chatting to a propshaft fabricator about this, he said the issue with one piece vibrations isn't that you feel them in the cab it's to do with an increased risk of damage to the drivetrain from vibration frequencies travelling along it. Gearboxes can suffer and it can go through as far as the crank in high RPM applications. In a 2-piece prop the rubber damper around the centre bearing absorbs the vibrations hence why it's there. His opinion was that a lightweight 2-piece is the way to go for a performance gain without risk. Personally i've never heard of anyone having problems with a one piece so will be getting one myself for when it all goes back together Gibster-TT on here has a lightweight 2 piece, not sure where he got it from or if it was a custom job
