Idle Air Control Valve, will it fit?
So, in summary. It appears that the new, albeit second hand, will indeed fit without issue. Why the difference? older/newer designs?

May have answered my own question, fortunately I have a spare. http://www.importpartspro.com/ni30oemaavag.html

Idle Air Control Valve, will it fit?
Thanks Andrew. Will I need a different gasket to isolate the the two ports? (as opposed to just the single square orifice of the original one?)

Idle Air Control Valve, will it fit?
A little while ago I purchased a low milage Idle control valve, as I suspected mine had seen better days. At first glance everything looked okay. It wasn't until I compared them side by side that I noticed some subtle differences. My question is, although they are different, can I fit the newer one without any issues? The later one is the one that looks fairly clean as opposed to the grubby one I have just removed. Unfortunately, only the newer of the 2 valves have any part numbers on it. Pictures below....

I did notice them, but assumed they were an existing feature. So are we looking at a dual MAF and breathing type modification?

Error code 13
Nothing to do with the error code 13 i know, but as Joel suggested, I have been cleaning connectors etc' As I was at it, I thought I would check the resistance of each injector just to eliminate them. Readings ranged from 12 ohms to 12.4 ohms across all 6, so as I understand it, all are good? Nicely cleaned and greased now.

Bit of an update, I'll keep it brief. (possibly.) After 3 hours in theatre, all appears to have gone well. Even the postoperative ultrasounds and recovery period went smoothly this time. (no dramas) Initially, it was thought that the first operation had failed for some reason or another. (not unheard of) However, during yesterday's initial 3d scan and electrophysiology the results told a different story, apparently all the initial ablations were still in tact. So they next tested my heart under various conditions, firstly they elevated the heart rate to some ridiculous BPM several times, then lowered it to a virtual a standstill! Not pleasant at all. Anyway, as this was all going on without any sedation or general anesthetic, (so as to establish patient feedback), they decided to withdraw the internal catheters etc' thinking nothing more needed to be done. At this point I had to disagree, as my heart suddenly went into a strong bout of fibrillation. Fortunately they agreed to investigate further, and on doing so found an area on the other side of the heart that was short circuiting. (rarely heard of) So back in went the ablation tools and off they went again for 5 individual burns around the faulty area, talk about uncomfortable. Anyway, here I am sitting at home boring you all yet again with my exploits. Hopefully I will be able to drop my medication after a 3 month check up. See, I said I would keep it brief. By the way, thanks everyone for you best wishes etc' ps Apparently Russ, this now puts me in the 90% success rate club.

Pesky Apple EXIF tags Simon. I'm guessing the phone itself was upside down and the Apple software outorotated it when viewing. Unfortunately, Wndows doesn't recognise this tag and therefore displays the picture upside down. A modern day example of super powers not collaborating.

Thanks Steven, My connector was a bit grotty to say the least. I have since cleaned and greased it but to no avail I'm afraid.
