  2. I think the guy with the charger missed the point as he's asking 10k just for the car
  3. http://www.discoveryuk.com/web/wheeler-dealers/competition/ Sell Us Your Car! Want to flog us your motor and be on Wheeler Dealers? We're giving you the chance to sell your car to Mike and Edd and appear in a very special episode of Wheeler Dealers. All you have to do is upload a picture of your car, tell us how much you want for it and fill in your details. Mike and Edd will be casting their very knowledgeable eyes over the entries and in December they'll choose the lucky winner, shake their hand and strike a deal. That car will then be featured in an episode and given away to a lucky viewer next year! Just a couple of things to note: we have a budget of £10k to buy and restore the winning vehicle, you need to be over 18 years of age and the car must have a valid MOT for 6 months! Good luck! It would be great to see a Z on there!
  4. It's the same on my Insignia. Mine operates on all 4 wheels and does engage the ABS too so not too good for handbrake assisted turning either. Don't know whether it releases when you let go of the button, will have to give it a try later and see
  5. Warm but slightly overcast in Birmingham, nice when the sun breaks through the clouds :)
  6. How long until it goes bang?? http://www.mx6.com/forums/2g-mx6-forced-induction/194308-turbo-mod-6.html
  7. I've updated the vehicle list at FJ so we can offer classic policies on all Z's regardless of age. Don't forget to mention you're a member of this club! I would still be interested in putting a deal together for the club and becoming their affiliated insurer. If someone on the committee would like to drop me a pm we can discuss? Dave
  8. No probs, hope we can sort you out :) We're open Saturday 9am until 1pm and the same hours on Monday as it's a Bank Holiday Best number is 0121 561 6250
  9. ^^^What Sir Charles said^^^ Phone us for a quote and mention that you are a member of the club. I've set you up a discount deal which covers all ZX's over 15 years old provided that you are a club member. You'll need to provide your membership number
  10. Cheers Quavey, that's the one! Not quite £500 but it's cheap enough lol :)
  11. Morning Guys (and girls) Just picked up a little ebay bargain. Can anyone just have a quick check on HPi for me please? Reg Number is Y879 NNB - should show an Audi A2? Thanks in advance Dave
  12. Turning 25 should have a big impact on your insurance price as most of us classic specialists won't accept you until you turn 25. I know we insure a good few people off here for less than £300 if that helps? Provided the car isn't massively modified classic insurance generally saves a mint
  13. No probs at all mate, everyone on here is very helpful...I knew nothing about these when I bought one and still don't know much now but everything I do know is down to the guys on here. Yeh, i said that when i bought it.....and then got addicted, a 160bhp Insignia just can't compete!! Best guess would be just under 5 seconds....if you can get traction!! Don't go trying it on damp roads!!.....well, not until you've got used to it anyway!! :p
  14. Sorry Ian, got you guys mixed up! Would have made sense if the leak was PS fluid as if the level was low that would cause the HICAS light to come on. Had a search through some previous HICAS posts and have copied and pasted this for you....I can't claim credit for it as it's someone elses comments :p Check the fluid level yourself from cold. Fluid loss or leaks is the main cause of the light coming on. If OK check the connection at the actual cap top and loom connector. If thats OK then have a look at the main ecu connector under the pass side carpet. If they have done an ecu upgrade then they will have removed this to replace the chip and socket it etc. Maybe when they have refitted it they have overtightened the connector (held in place by 10mm?? bolt). If overtightened it can bend this connector and this can create bad connections! The main ecu will talk to the PAS/HICAS ecu thru this loom. If so slacken the bolt and make sure it looks good, straight and home. If that looks ok then check the PAS ecu as its close to the main ECU - its possible they have disturbed it, but unlikely. After that I would be looking at where the boost controller is plumbed in and where its wired into the cabin. Maybe if done close to the steering wheel they have disturbed the wheel angle sensor or something. My first suggestions are more likely though. Glad you've given it a go with the boost up. It changes the car completely! I wouldn't like to put a figure on it...some people massively overestimate these and it's not been on a rolling road to see. Similar club cars with similar mods are running around 350bhp so best guess would be somewhere around that Glad you're loving the car....look after her. If you pay your £20 and join the club you'll have access to the wider forum and be able to post wanted ads for parts....well worth the £20 IMO :)
  15. Hi Jason Glad you're loving the car :) That's strange....window washer definitely worked, it was MOT'd a couple of days before you had it? Prob a dumb question but you have checked there is water in it? Hadn't seen the HICAS light either....that's the rear wheel steer thingy. Someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to tell you why that's on i'm sure A leak of what? Not windscreen washer water? Too much coincidence? :/ Enjoy her mate....have you been brave enough to change the boost back to 'High' yet? Glad you've found the club, these guys are great and know everything!!
  16. Could this be my old one by any chance? She was sold to a nice bloke from Portsmouth :)
  17. Zedwizz - I could do with a set of these too if you can PM me when they're ready with your paypal details. Thanks Dave :)
  18. ^^^ Wot Anthony said :thumbup1:
  19. Every chance mate. Depends on what you class as minor mods. There are certain things underwriters don't understand, apparently boost controllers are witchcraft so they run away very quickly from those! If you want to PM me your details and i'll get someone to give you a call to organise a quote when it's due
  20. Sorry bud, give us a try next year. Only for over 25's at present
  21. Hi Jim Yes, we cover imports now cos...errr.....mine's an import :)
  22. Glad to hear we're doing something right.....all ZX's qualify for classic car insurance under the scheme i've just put together. :)
  23. Driving round like a loon?? Me?? :whistling: Was just canvassing for opinions.....the car rarely sees wet roads so dry weather performance is all that matters really. Jeff has offered me a very good price on some part worn Marshall Matrac's which seem to have good dry weather reviews so will probably go for these this time around. Thanks to everyone for their input :)
  24. Thanks Guys. I was leaning towards the Yokohamas but will have a look at the Falkens too Cheers for the advice
  25. Morning Gents Had the car up on the jack at the weekend to replace the starter motor (cheers to Baz for coming to the rescue) and noticed the rear tyres have become somewhat slick Have been looking at prices of replacements. Don't want to spend a fortune as MOT is due very soon and I have a feeling that will zap some funds. I've spoken to Jeff about part worns and he's going to have a look what he has but also looking at new ones....prices below for 255/40/ZR17's...what would you buy? GT Champero £91.95 Marshall £95 Yokohama £113 Toyo £130 Conti-Sport £180 Many thanks Dave
