  1. NCD doesn't come into it with classic insurance. I don't know whey yours has come out more expensive. Are you limiting your miles to the same level? Is your value the same? Modifications? Access to another vehicle?
  2. Given the title of this thread....i'm going into hiding!!
  3. It's errrrr 'Special' lol :D
  4. Honda Odyssey? Reliable as hell http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1995-HONDA-ODYSSEY-SHUTTLE-AUTOMATIC-MPV-7-SEATER-PEOPLE-CARRIER-/300653379867?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item460056811b#ht_596wt_932
  5. Oops  http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/s/1471840_police-officer-writes-off-loaned-40k-volkswagen-golf-in-trafford-park-test-drive-crash
  6. ^^^^^ This Go for something slightly away from the norm. Also putting a parent on the policy as an additional driver often brings the price down.
  7. Was that due to modifications?
  8. Best bet would be to give us a call and see what the costs would be before buying the car! Give us a call on 0121 561 6250 and use registration number HS02 TKT (350z GT) to get a sample quote. You'd have to have an unmodified 02 model to qualify for classic insurance Any problems drop me a PM or replace the 50 on the phone number with 97 Dave
  9. FJ will insure the 350Z as classic once they are 10 years old
  10. You'll have great fun mate I did the Sucata Run in 2010. Went out there in a 1990 Alfa Romeo 164 painted up in Blues Brothers style.....it made the journey just fine despite a screaming water pump and knackered tracking. Managed to write that off in Portugal (slight collision with another teams VW Golf) and then came back in a 1991 Mercedes 190 painted in Gulf Racing colours that another team were just going to abandon out there. We stopped on in Portugal for a couple of weeks before we drove back, was probably one of the best holidays ever :) You'll have a great time. Don't forget to post your justgiving link (assuming it's for charity)
  11. I thought that too. Obviously the bike had to be removed from inside the car in order for the bodies to be retreived. I'd imagine the interior of the car had a bit of a clean up too. I'd guess that the bike was pretty much unidentifiable (as a bike) after a collision so a few replacement panels were added so that it could be used as such an attention grabber
  12. I absolutely agree :) My company car is a white Vauxhall Insignia.....the look on some people's faces in the rear view mirror when they get a flash of the headlights because they're on the phone is often priceless.....it's one of my pet hates too along with lots of others
  13. I don't think the driver of the Golf was actually on the phone. The occupants of the Golf were an elderly couple and stories about mobile phone use have only recently been attached to these pictures. If police estimates of the bike speed are anywhere near accurate the driver of the Golf would have had no chance of seeing the bike
  14. This accident happened near Stockholm in Sweden back in 2003. The Swedish police do actually take this to various bike shows to warn bikers about excessive speed. The police estimated that the bike was travelling at around 155mph before it hit the side of the Golf. It's believed that the rider had only recently obtained his licence
  15. Another vote for the Octavia Estate.....had one for a short while as a company pool car and it was fantastic
  16. Dave. I don't understand that. What value did you put on the alloys and bodykit? Can you PM me with your surname and postcode and i'll have a look and see if we can do something for you. If you want to include a mobile number i'll text you when i've had a look at it
  17. We wouldn't cover on a Zed you as you're under 25 too. On the plus side there's not a huge difference in the cost for an NA or a TT so maybe you could get yourself a TT next year? :) Insurance is all based on statistics and, as Bird, rightly says, the age group you fall into is statistically the highest risk in any car With classic policies the difference between FC and TPF&T is also minimal. There are not as many underwriters that offer TPF&T cover these days so the competition between companies tends to be on FC policies which drives the prices down.
  18. That's always the issue with going to a non-classic specialist. I'd always go with an insurer that understands the marque, that way if ever you need to make a claim the whole experience will be much easier. If you've gone with the £337 price it doesn't sound too unreasonable depending on your circumstances.
  19. Thanks for the plug :) Black-Zed - If you PM me a contact number I can get someone to give you a call and go through a quote for you. We do offer club rates and, on a classic policy, you don't get penalised for it being an import. Otherwise feel free to give the office a call on 0121 561 6250. Don't forget to mention you're a member of the club
  20. http://www.newsbiscuit.com/2011/10/21/waitrose-withdraws-%E2%80%98essential%E2%80%99-range-after-finding-poor-people-in-stores/ LOL
  21. Legend http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270860318788 :D
  22. Footman James will offer classic policies on all 300ZX's regardless of age. You can get limited or unlimited mileage, agreed value and includes UK and European Breakdown Cover. Mine cost £220 before staff discount. We won't cover anything that's heavily modified, you need to have access to another car and minimum age of 25. Phone us rather than getting an online quote for the best deal 0121 561 6250
  23. Could the club look at having a stand at the Classic Motor Show next year? There were hundreds of clubs there and the event grows every year. I can provide you with the contact details for the event organiser if you want to have a display there in 2012? Dave
