  1. thanks guys was very close to getting rid of it but after driving it a few times my love was reborn! :lol: With the wheels i have always wanted the rota's and fancy a change plus ive had a busy few weeks in work so have some spare pennies to play with :) i should really spend it on the house but....................... :lol:
  2. Well i have gone from selling my zed to booking into the bodyshop for next week! Its going in for rear arches and front bumper and sills being tidied up. Plus im going to get my arse in gear and get the coilovers fitted, the de cats and if my budget goes to plan ill be looking at new wheels to :)
  3. You have probably got a couple of little faults which will make you zed run like crap. I had the same thing with mine and after speaking to jeff he explaned that the ecu will over compansate when you have minor faults, such as maf and will over fuel the engine to try and protect it. Mine was a combination of a bad maf and ptu wires rubbing through on the alternater belt. Also check for air leaks as its very easy to leave a jublee undone
  4. Have you tried running the car with the maf disconnecred? It will run in a default mode but wont rev above 2k
  5. Im 95% sure that indigo gt in merthyr deal with apexi. I asked them before xmas about getting me one for my zed but they where on back order till january

  7. Well following on from a few post im still have poor starting issues. I thought i had sorted it by changing the MAF but the fault seems to of returned. Ill start by saying what i have done. compression test all good. (170 all 6) replaced MAF S2 PTU No boost leaks temp senor changed last year but was from an auto factors new engine wiring loom cleaned and tested all 6 injector's and new seals new battery I have noticed that the car seems to start better when in the garage but is harder to start when outside. The engine turns over fine (not slow) and once the car is running it runs lumpy for about 15-30 secs then clears its self and runs fine. strangly if left for say a week it seems to fire straight up but if over night its harder to start. also has blue smoke on start up not a huge amount. Am i looking at steam seals? Any help would be great as its doing my head in now.

  9. not needed to one on my zed but i have done a few on suzuki sj's. sj410 to a sj413. sj413 to a 1.6 vitara. another sj413 to a 1.7 isuzu turbo diesel. Have also done a transit and have done a head gasket on a supra. Think i need to start buying decent cars!
  10. are you getting sudden loss of power if so you probably have a boost leak somewhere. Otherwise as groover said air flow meter

  12. Well after a bit searching and bleeding the system i have discovered that the UJ that goes on to the rack seems to be my fault and is giving me hard steering. I have wd40 up the joint and at the mo all seems well My question is, is that all i need to do or will it go back to the way it was and i need to replace it? hope that makes sense.
  13. yeah my timing is good had a conzult on it a few weeks ago and was at 15tdc. and yes only when its cold and i may be being dumb here but dont know what you mean by auxiliary air device? is this the AAV unit?
  14. nope been blanked off I have had problems with my maf but i cleaned it and sprayed it with wd40 and the car has been fine since. would it stop the car starting? yep its coming up code 55 is there a way of testing it?

  16. Following on from my previous post i have done a compression test this morning and pleased to say all 6 are at 170 or a couple either side but non of them are down on compression. However i still have the poor starting problem and all 6 plugs are black surgesting over fueling. Anyone point me in the right direction on what could be causing my poor starting? No boost leaks new engine wiring loom all injectors tested and all have 12 ohm resistance new injector seals please help its doning my head in!

  19. I have been putting this off to be honest as i probably wont like the results :lol: but i think this will be my next step. In regards to the connections and injectors they should be good as i have put a new engine wiring loom in and recently had the plenum off and cleaned and bought new seals for all the injectors. And yeah the revs do come good and it runs great once its started. With the blue smoke am i looking at rings? oil steem seals? etc? and will i be able to tell with the compression test results?
  20. No it turns over as it should just doesnt seem to fire for ages but then eventually it always starts. But when it fires up after cranking a bit it runs lumpy for few secounds then clears its self and runs fine. Also has bit of blue smoke but not ever time.
  21. i dont think its battery as i only replaced it a couple of weeks ago.

I have been having poor starting issues for a while now and i discovered yesterday that my S2 ptu wires had found there way to the alternator belt and the green and orange wire had worn through and was touching each other. Anyway I cut and re soldered the wires thinking I would solve my poor starting problem. However i still have the same poor starting as before. My question is with the 2 wires touching could i of fryed/screwed the PTU up or is there other things that would be causing my poor starting. Thanks
