  1. Yep, they do like to change things around a bit ! Some had told me that they were different, and others thought they weren't. So when that one came for sale I asked for measurements to confirm. For once something that wasn't hard to adapt :) Ok, I know it isn't rocket science, but maybe someone else will be in the same situation, at least they know its not hard to do now ;)
  2. As I recently changed my seats to leather, I wanted the armrest to match. As a SWB armrest in leather seem hard to find, I plumped for chancing a LWB one and making it fit (they are about 20mm longer). As luck would have it, Mackam Maz had a LWB one up for sale in good condition and at a nice price, so I thought I would see what I could do ... Thankfully, for once, Mr Nissan kindly didn't redesign the whole part ! After disassembling we find all we need to do is a bit of hacksaw action and we can fit the LWB top section onto the SWB base with very little problem :) Peel back the leather and mark it up: Cut it off: Trim the leather: Tuck it all back in with a bit of adhesive, and punch through the hinge screw holes (as they are virgin holes, it helps to screw in the ... err ... screw to tap out the plastic while its easy access ;)): All done ready for re-fitting (looking better than the cloth even now!): And in place:
  3. Thanks Paul C, that explains it all, maybe I should have looked in their first
  4. Oh ! I assumed the front and rear camber was adjustable on stock components, to a degree at least. It would appear not, at least at the front ? :o
  5. +1 should have enough to get a good case by the sounds of it, although its a hassle :( Chin up Janus, and hope you get it sorted soon.
  6. Oooh nice :) is that TK3 ? The plan is for a full cut and polish on mine once I get my boot resprayed, but I keep finding other things that cause me to too dip into the respray funds :whistling:
  7. 068 as mentioned, mine fitted perfectly :) Many thanks to a few club members ;)
  8. Good point JS :) Although I imagine they would be the same ... not that I understood what the tolerances are measured in :blushing: but I got the info I was after :)
  9. Excellent, cheers :D
  10. I still have stock suspension, I was just after knowing what is the correct amount ie: -0.5 front 0 rear etc. When (how ever far down the road that is) I get to lowering the car a little, I don't want to go beyond what the stock camber arms can take. I presume -20mm is about max, then obviously I will want to adjust the camber to ball park before I take it to get properly aligned. Having little trust in some of these places, I would like to know what the settings should be ;)
  11. As there are many mentions of correcting camber when lowering the car etc, I was wondering what are the correct front and rear camber figures for the Zed ? Presumably as the ride height is decreased, you get more negative camber ?
  12. Why would they, thats a Subaru :tongue_smilie::lol: Crazy price hikes though ... perhaps someone should start a sticky with alternative known working/fitting parts such as Boldy pointed out ?
  13. A ZX10 and that Zed ? ... man, you're making me green ;)
  14. Penetrating oil has to be worth a shot (apparently WD40 isnt that effective at penetration), "PlusGas" is meant to be pretty decent.
  15. If it's in the garage, sorn and dont insure, keep hold of it for when things are better financially :)
  16. I got some front Brembo pads off ebay for a good price and they have been fine. Although, for some reason the Brembo rears cost substantially more ! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRONT-Brembo-Brake-Pads-NISSAN-300-ZX-Z32-3-0-Twin-Tu-/270669758062?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f052cbe6e
  17. Thats some beastie ! As above whats the total spec ?
  18. I take it youve seen the PH ad ? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2953846.htm Worth looking into I would think :)
  19. Yeah I would second that generally saabs should be reliable cars, I had a couple in the past and they were no trouble (well one had a leccy window motor fail but otherwise no prob, and that one was closing on 200K miles). As for your situation, its easy to see why you feel so helpless, but thats what they are relying on. Keep trading standards updated with everything, they are your best chance (legally) ;)
  20. I'm with them on a reccomendation from Marty too, cheapest I could get, but not that cheap ! I am wondering if its to do with recent car history (not having had a rwd sports car for many years), being as I am a low risk driver in a low risk area, hopefully it will go down next year !
  21. +1 to what everyone has said, get the conversion and the retrim you wanted done, and keep it !
  22. OMG that is absolutely lush, love it ! Welcome BTW. Great place here, full of helpful and knowledgeable people, as well as some fruitcakes of the best kind, all top stuff
  23. Especially when its a 99 spec and quite possibly purple
  24. Oh yes, those volks will look great on it :)
