  1. I am running a oil catch can system and done away with the pcv set up completely, i have a breather catch can with 2 inputs (1 from the left back rocker cover and one from the front right rocker cover feeding the oil tank), then the oil catch tank drain goes to the sump, (below oil level or the crank pressure will blow back the dirty oil into the rockers), Have done this on many a turbo car and had no probs. have been running this system for a few weeks now and had no probs so far, i check the tank a couple of time a week to see how dirty it is and i dont think a drop of oil has even been in it ?

  6. Have a word with chunk he has a complete harness for sale, and yes its well worth doing, co's so many probs are due to faulty connections and broken cables...Do it if your engine is out and you can afford it.
  7. Most prob down to detting ? what boost you running ? I have just done a big end and mains rebuild with the engine in the car for a friend, the longest part was waiting for the correct bearings (from mike feeny) , but even if you order direct from nissan you will still have a wait. The only problem by doing it this way is you dont get your crank reground ? and if you have been running it for a time with the shell gone then you will need a crank re-grind. As the others have said if you had a rebuild check what was and when it was done, you might have a claim ? If you do decide to have a go and you know what size the bearings are give me a pm i might be able to help with the bearings ????
  8. why do you want to remove it ?

  15. Hi taff, i thought that all the catch tanks had a breather type lid, because it must breath to atmosphere. As with the tubs, thats wot peter done to the T3.5 on my Silvia, and i had no over heating probs, so i thought i could do the same with the Z ? but i am not to sure about the oil supply to the tubs, if its up to the job.

  21. I will pop into the shop tomorrow and get one of them and the air ratchet as i can see that beign very handy. Thanks Guys QUOTE=Paul C]http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=000310848&r=2017&g=103 this is what you want, as said - air ratchets are not suitable for this sort of thing. are bloody good for dissasembly work once the bolts been cracked off. but you tend to crack the nut/bolt undone 1st. depending on how much you want to spend you may want to pay out for a more heavy duty one than above, Clarke aint that great TBH, but prob ok for the occasional home use :)
