  1. hey there, firstly i would probably go for a micro pc if you can afford the purchase, as it will make your life a lot easier, something like this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/227257 and mount it in the glove or somewhere. and most deffinately run the cabling, then dynamat (or similar) then fix the cables. will you be amping your other speakers? if not then a 5 channel amp is more than overkill, if its just the sub, get yourself a decent monoblock amp. with subs you have to remember theres a lot of physical movement going on when its banging out some 'phat tunes' lol. so the speaker needs to be secured well to its plane or surface. most speakers (subs anyway) are designed to operate in a partially enclosed environment, usually completely sealed either infront or behind the speaker to generate back pressure, without this back pressure most subs sound very flat. so i would really reccomend boxing your sub unless its specfically designed to run free. theres 3 main types of enclosure you could use (and again different subs will work better under different conditions) Sealed Ported and Bandpass each will behave and sound differently, i myself prefer the bandpass boxes, where the speaker is tucked away behind some (usually) perspex. it gives a very deep basetone :-) have a look here for more info and great box calculators http://www.ajdesigner.com/speaker/index.php and if you need any more help etc pls feel free to pm me :-)
