James take the leads off the coil caps but leave the leads on th einput sideof the PTU and test again for your 4.4 volts , do a search for ignition wiring their are a few scematics on here and systematicaly take off the connections one at a time , the earthing on a zed is very peculiar and is not at as sraight forward as a mondeo or escort os some such , many strange faults have been cured by the addition of a grounding kit ...im 4000 miles away from my zed or i would have looked to see if i had the 4.4v feedback you are getting Steve

perhaps its because at the moment they are so cheap , they attract the pre pubescent pimply pratts in back to front caps and burberry who have no intention of maintaining and keeping them in their true glory but just think "cor free undrid ponies" and it only cost a grand ...they then procede to stick spinners and caz and dave windscreen banners on them , put on ludicrous melted welly body kits and raz the nads of them till they break or they crash them ....i think that is the image that is being refered to , a particular brush that i for one do not want to be tarred with thank you very much .........

its a beasty perfect touch have just tweeked the first UK R35 to 562 bhp with a simple boost upgrade and oil change ............does it really matter what the inside or outside looks like with close on 600bhp easily achievable ....for that kind of money ....?? for me not ..

the carbon kitted R33 on the cover belongs to the guy sitting at the next desk to me , its now undergoing a 1000 BHP rebuild with a 200 Nitrous shot ....ive had a ride in it was stupendously fast as was with 650+ bhp will let you know what its like as he is popping round to take me for a spin when its built in two or three weeks time :)))

build up to it slowly .. a 600 is big enough ...the kwaka ZXR 600 or ZZR 600 are both very comfy capable bikes not as "edgy" as the suzy or harsh as the yam but not as good build quality as the honda CBR 600 .....the ducati 748 is around the same power at the jap 4 pots but is a twin with good tourque and an amazing accompanying sound track
