  1. Can anyone point me in the direction of the pictures/explanation of where to cut and weld the mounting lugs. I know Andy P did the job I have looked but cant find the info Please........
  2. Indeed. Pete doesnt do "family model 300ZXs".:tt2: The spoiler is interchangable I believe Tailgate and glass are different.
  3. Day 2 of my tailgate conversion. Used the template I made from Bob's car to mark holes. Drilled holes .Test fitted spoiler....all good. Gave the exposed areas a quick spray........ Not impressed with Halfords paint matching skills :scared: Spoiler and perspex strip fitted. Forgot to paint the silver gaffa tape covering the holes from the original 89 type spoiler:whistling: This car now goes to the back of the queue Tailgate and spoiler to be painted properly ...one day. I might de wiper it too.
  4. Have a look at a few of Tracey Buckley's photos.... There are lots n lots . They give a very good sense of how close it can get on track! There is a familiar looking slicktop on the first page. I COULD claim to be overtaking the red Vortex but.............................. https://www.facebook.com/Tracey-Buckley-Photography-354736651391419/photos/?tab=album&album_id=503948303136919 Referring back to tyres etc. If you look at my car here in the middle of the tight 4 apex right hand complex you can see the pressure on the front left tyre. Im not in any way attempting "big up" my own car but the flat cornering attitude is evident in the photo also. The car is very stable and progressive on track.
  5. Yep! That pretty much sums it up. And as all I do with my car is some track and occasional dry weekend outings Im very happy with them.
  6. Like other similar track day tyres they have NO wet grip to speak of.. If you end up at a track day and its wet with standing water then you might as well not bother going out. Normal mid range road tyres will be loads better. Thats the downside! On a dry track they are very stable and progressive. You just need a lap or so to get a little heat in them. They will then be fine for a typical 20min session. As you can see from the picture and video Three Sisters is very hard on tyres but these dont chunk or tear. You can of course see signs of graining and wear. I see others at Three Sisters who virtually destroy road tyres in a day there. On the DRY road they are fine. On a damp road caution is needed. On streaming wet roads especially motorways they are dreadful. Aquaplaning at 50mph is a real danger as they have no provision for clearing water like normal tyres. All based on my experience in the car. Not what I read on the internet or heard down the pub:innocent:
  7. Yes I did. As said before grass roots motorsport is alive and well in the UK. I fully understand that Events like this not to everyones taste and that many members would not treat their cars as I treat mine. I just post up what Im doing so a few like yourself can see what Im up to. The fact that nobody else comes along in reality doesnt matter. Iv met some new non 300ZX owners who go regularly so Im starting to feel part of the scene at Three Sisters.Im not the only OAP either!! I have to say the organizers are a good bunch too. It reminds me a bit of going to York Raceway to do quarter miles. A different discipline but the same casual/friendly down to earth atmosphere. Maybe its a "Northern thing"??? I dont really do traditional Classic car type meets nowadays as I have had my share in the past with my 240Z. I would always come out for a bit of a drive/meet/pub lunch type day but nothing like that happens anywhere in the Midlands nowadays.
  8. Tailgate lower skin/spoiler. V1 Bought and fitted by the previous owner of my car from Luke at Z Centre. This is the single skin version and it has a slot for a brake light. There is an light fitted(And working) in it. Easy to remove and fibreglass in if not wanted. Sold as removed by me. See pics. its COLLECT ONLY. No Couriers.Im not wrapping/sending.Located close to M1 /Nottingham. J26 Make me an offer. I need it gone asap. Email me or call please. I dont have the time and patience to have a long on line/Forum debate about a bit of cheap used fibreglass. 07778 411568 pmaczc@madasafish.com.
  9. Yes he is referring to that box. Looks like time for a replacement
  10. Although I may not look very quick ...... and maybe Im not....... BUT I am trying very hard .:scared: Check out the front left tyre..... Three Sisters is all RH bends bar two. I might need to put a touch more negative camber on for next year!!! And buy some more tyres as I have already swapped these over on the rims due to completely trashing the other edges when they were on the outside.
  11. Today I made a start removing the tailgate skin than was fitted to my spare slicktop when I bought it. A nice surprise under it.... NON rusty metal. Some of the square holes to fit the perspex strip pegs are not drilled but that can be fixed. Trial fitted srip without them. I also got the horseshoe style 95 OEM spoiler out of the loft so I can get that fitted. Will put tailgate skin up for sale if anyone wants it.
  12. SWB systems are always available from the US.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-1990-1996-Nissan-300zx-Turbo-4-Dual-Burnt-Tip-T-304-Catback-Exhaust-System-/311618542505?fits=Model%3A300ZX&hash=item488de99ba9:g:jnIAAOSwH6lXQ3ST&vxp=mtr A virtually identical one to your link Gary..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Manzo-Stainless-Steel-Catback-Exhaust-Muffler-Fits-Nissan-300ZX-Z32-2-2-90-95-/380890159348?fits=Model%3A300ZX&hash=item58aed298f4:g:b-EAAOxyBC1SBCA1&vxp=mtr
  13. Some video footage of the action. Its pretty long and repetitive and the drfting takes up a lot of it. Just watch the first 3 minutes.... it will give you an idea what goes on. Look out just after 2min 25sec. Black BMW Green Puma. White BMW Red Toyota and then a black/orange slicktop.:thumbup1: Followed by a MX5. The black BMW and the Puma are quicker than me. The red Toyota is similar in times and driven by two of the other "senior citizens" who go regularly. The white BMW and the Mazda are slower than me. This vid might persuade some of you to join me......but I suspect it will put most of you off completely.
  14. Well done.:thumbup1: Onwards and upwards then:yes:
  15. Most of the ones I see at Japfest etc are normal(ish) road cars that their owners use on track . With the usual upgrades they make a relatively cheap reliable track car.
  16. Sunny weather for the drive up to Wigan and home also. A little early morning mist at the track soon cleared and a busy track day got underway. I had three good sessions on track including a passenger on the final one. He seemed to enjoy it and sat in with me in preference to his mates BMW. The pace in general was fast and furious today with almost perfect driving conditions. I had to come to a very sudden Red flag halt signal caused by a white BMW spinning and blocking the track for a moment on the exit of the tight 90 right downhill!! A bit unnerving... probably for him as well! There was a display of machinery from "Extreme BHP" present along with the usual ecletic mix of cars. A white 240Z arrived just as I left. I was on track with a blue 350Z There was a mint S15 Silvia parked next to me at one stage. Check out the pics.... My faves were the Moonstone Cosworth (identical to one I used to own) and the Delta Integrale. No 300ZXs .... but maybe next time???
  17. Or alternatively just call me. Number as above post by me.
  18. They are recessed plugs not hex bolts.
  19. What style/type of injector plugs do you have?? Early ones? Or these.......http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?183929-Injector-connectors-Late-style-Used
  20. Nobody really knows as nobody has said they have ever encountered this "situation" There are some clues tho... Look how difficult it is to sell Cat C and cat D cars in the UK. They are alway difficult to sell and sell well below market value. Here is a question... why would anyone contemplate buying an imported car with an altered Vin number and an unknown and uncertain history when they can buy a similar car readily with a 100% provenance?? So far you havent told us what happened to it in Japan. Is it a rebuilt write off, stolen recovered etc etc? Or is there some other reason why the Japanese authorities sanctioned a new and non geniune Nissan number?? Was it seized for tax evasion? Was it marked "for export only" etc etc???? Me neither.
  21. I like the reg plate........
  22. You can deffo get your money back...and a bit more. Manwell conversion NA back end diff subframe etc. Eng runs so MAF, CAS, PTU starter, alternator all work. NA power steering. Plenty of other parts. too. Look carefully at the seats... easy to dismiss it as vinyl but it has creased nicely so "could" be leather.????
  23. Google is your friend..................... http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9mSs3AfttZX1VUAARNLBQx.;_ylu=X3oDMTBydHRqMjgyBGNvbG8DaXIyBHBvcwM1BHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--/RV=2/RE=1473717920/RO=10/RU=http%3a%2f%2feasyautodiagnostics.com%2fmisc-index%2fnoid-light-tool-review-1/RK=0/RS=TX00JQHUXMGHSDiwaK2m9.NAkMg- Simple and cheap......... A bit like me really:thumbup: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SALE-SEALEY-VS213-NOID-LIGHT-TESTER-TOOL-KIT-6-PCE-FUEL-INJECTOR-TESTER-FAULT-/131926597786?hash=item1eb770209a:g:SHYAAOSwgmJXyUM-
