  1. Masking tape is just fine. It doesnt get incinerated. I used to use it all the time. Im not sure about the glue/mastic stuff holding the plate on?? I just painted mine .Easier...cheaper.
  2. I didnt "think" there was any but you have just confirmed it.:thumbup1:
  3. Personally I would just connect up the new fitting to the CC.. Im not sure what goes on inside the tank?? Maybe someone else does?
  4. Simple to repair. remove pump assembly. Buy an ally fitting with a push on barb and threaded end with locknut.Drill hole where pipe used to fit. Insert fitting. You will haave enough room to get a socket or cranked spanner to tighten it.Push flexi pipe on new barb fitting Job done fitting....may not be correct size....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-8-NPT-to-5mm-6mm-1-4-PUSH-ON-BARB-TAIL-Hose-Pipe-Fitting-Adapter-Fuel-Oil-/271266095153?hash=item3f28b82031:g:PVcAAOxy3NBSdWOh
  5. Yep thats correct. You need a license with category B+E like mine. What a sensible idea :thumbup1::thumbup1:
  6. Almost certain. A permanent arangement as proposed will be classed as a car + trailer. No doubt if you write/email the DVLA they will clarify. Im sure drivers you see taking a little car behind their motorhome all have Historic class C licences which allows them to do so. I have surrendered my rights to class C this year due to age but retained my class B rights so B + E allows me to drive a vehicle up to 3500kg + "a heavy trailer"
  7. Dont bother with calculation. The springs you have dont work. Just throw them away. The fact you already have the Stillen Sway bars is great. They are one of the best suspension mods you can do. IMO Now just get a pair of 4kg springs and get the 6/4 set up fitted. Your car will be great. Trust me!! and trust Joel!. Fully adjustable damping is useful but something you can do without ATM
  8. Dont bother fitting the 8kg ones just buy a pair of 4s and go 6/4. Your car will ride lovely like that and will handle better/ corner quicker without jumping and axle hopping everywhere. If you venture on track just click up the Meisters to about 2/3 max. Job done.....:thumbup1: Smooth fast sure footed road car and competent on track IF you ever get out there.:whistling: All of course IMHO.... but based on experience!!!
  9. SWB and LWB cables are different.
  10. This I gotta see:scared:
  11. Im assuming you know that you will need to weld some seatbelt mounts onto the B pillar???
  12. As I remember belts swap over... Getting then top covers for a SWB door will be a challenge. Getting your original ones with holes recovered in leather/vinyl is probably easier
  13. From a practical point of view IMO its a no contest. Series 2 onwards(B pillar) wins hands down. My first slicktop was ser 1 and then I bought the 95 version S and drove that . So I have experience of both. Now of course I have harnesses in my current slicktop which are a bit of a PITA ....but neccessary.
  14. Im going to pick up on a minor flaw in your description Chris......just to explain what occurred. I didnt actually "drift" round that island. "drifting" implies some degree of sliding, skidding and tyre spinning. When we went round the island I drove it round. I was in control with no loss of traction. You did of course hear the tyres "chirp" in protest but that is normal . Of course it was all over in a flash and we were then headed back up the bypass having completed the full 180 turn before you realized what was happening. It was difficult to tell who was having the most fun!!
  15. Well not really. :innocent: I did drive at 30mph ish untill we got to the bypass. THEN I nailed it!! I love the "lay-by" bit and "the island" cos nobody knows apart from me whats coming up next!.:lol: Glad you enjoyed it. Slicktops rule!!
  16. Thanks for that Joel. In all the time I have used the car I dont ever recall seeing any video of it.. So for me that little clip is very significant.
  17. Mine certainly are bedded in so it will be interesting to see if they produce much dust/squealing as I continue to use them. As you say I wont be bothered about some extra noise. Im sometimes tempted to leave my helmet on when I drive home from the track:innocent: as it is pretty deafening most of the time.
  18. From my first use I can say they do what it says on the label. A good response cold and I didnt feel any fade today on what is one of the fastest UK tracks. I "think" after some hard use they may squeal on normal slow speed a bit?? I will need more days out to be sure about this?? I have to say that my 350Z gold Brembo set up is epic and gives incredible stopping power even from 80/90 mph, which is about what I can pull down Wellington straight. A quick Twin Turbo will pull more than that but I still feel the 350Z set up is more than enough for 99 out of100 TTs
  19. Not from me....I dont own a go-pro thingy. I dont think I could be bothered with the hassle. Maybe one day....... I only took one picture of our two cars at the same time as Ian. He has posted up first so I wont bother duplicating it!! We were on separate sessions after lunch so maybe he has a pic of me on track???? Or maybe not. I
  20. Yes you have Joel  but if your choice is to spend time detailling etc and ending up in magazines then its OK . Im home safe...and the car..... and I have had a great day.:thumbup1:
  21. and one of these.........https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/draper-2-tonne-low-profile-trolley-jack-with-q/
  22. Just get some of these. .........
  23. Put £40 worth of V power in.:thumbup1: Went for a little test run to check the fuel was OK. Tore thru a couple of country lanes like an idiot. Did a few full rev launches down a quiet industrial estate road(Dead end road) like a chav at Maccy Ds:laugh: Checked that new discs and pads were fully bedded in my leaving braking very near the dead end.:scared: Very pleased all round ....so came home and put helmet in car ready for tomorro:thumbup: Drive it like you stole I say........dont waste time polishing.
  24. You will always be behind with your car now coz you have carz and bratz to look after:biggrin:
  25. Will be in the tracktime paddock. Normally on the RHS just before the bridge over the track. Are you coming in the 300 Joel???
