Exhaust systems.
Without doubt this is good value for money but ultimately its a piece of Taiwan tat made and polished specially to look good on ebay.:x: It certainly wont cut the mustard on a 500 to 600hp car any more than the system that you enquired about from me.;)

New battery!
You will end up with the terminals at the front on a 069.

New Toy.
LOl!!! Not really mate. I have been "umming and ahhing" about getting one for ages as Im sick of having to use the wind up Nissan Jack first before I get my 3 tonne trolley jack under the car. Also ally one is loads lighter and easy to pick up. Unlike my other one. seeing your thread and the comments about availability just made me go n do it. And actually I think the one I got is better than the Machine Mart version. Its bigger with a bigger weight capacity. If you were anywhere near I would gladly pop round and help you but........you aint.

New Toy.
Point noted. I always pop a couple of axle stands under as soon as I jack a motor up;)

New Toy.
Err No!! They come already "blinged" in the box 1814KG max capacity. Max lift 508mm I will be giving it a "test drive" tomorrow!!;)

New Toy.
With recent talk on here of jacks etc I thought I would treat myself to one of these fellas after my mate at his tyre fitting bay bought two. I believe he bought them at Costco 89 mm entry height...... so no more nasty Nissan sill jacking at my place... WooHooo:dance: Oh yeah it cost me £83 all in and I did an extra half day at work this morning to cover that:D

cheap brakes (willwood)
Rally Design have been around for a long long time. They are good at what they do., But £560 for a pair of calipers without pads, bolts or any mounting bkts or discs etc doesnt seem cheap to me given the amont of other stuff you will need to buy and then work out how it all fits together with the right clearances etc.

leatherette retrim on e-bay!!!
First of all let me congratulate you on getting yer mota back on the road:bow: But secondly may I politely ask you why you want to fit a vinyl plastic seat kit to such a car???? Nissan stopped fitting vinyl covered seats in 1976 when they introduced the 260Z facelift model. Prior to that Zeds had vinyl seats like in my 240Z. For the sake of originality most 240Z owners (like me) stick with the sweaty, hot in summer, cold in winter plastic but I fail to see the reasoning in reverting back to a seventies style materiel in anything produced after the seventies???

The dreaded rust !
Plenty of people good enough to do it Paul.... the trouble is most skilled welders dont work for beer tokens. If you pay in peanuts then you usually attract monkeys or so the saying goes.:x:

looking for a zed.......is this a good one?
Its an 18 year old car that has been driven all that time on salted UK roads. So an "on the ramp" inspection would be a must. IMO. there is no question it will be rusty. Its just a case of how rusty. AG2 is a lacquered red so it shouldnt fade too bad. Check to see it is lacquered cos if not it may have been resprayed.

A quandry.
Exactamente!! A club is about its members not its cars. They are just what brings us together.IMO

Z day at Santa Pod
Saz, dont equate RWYB days with the big Jap shows etc at The Pod. There are no public on RWYB days only owners and there cars + partners. family mates etc. Its quite common to see ladies having a go for the first time in partners cars etc. Nobody is worrying about anyone else or laughing at mistakes etc. The big shows are different. There are loads of public watching. Its not for the shy or nervous to launch in front of a crowd. And the big power "shoot out" cars do have special treatment and their own practice slots. I love running in front of the crowd but I can understand those who dont. I am sure if you come along, even if you dont run on your first visit. you will see what Im on about. Remember its a social day out too. Bacon butties. Fry up lunches etc in the cafe are part and parcel of the day. For those who want a bit of "tech talk" and advice there is always some of that too. The York Raceway is another venue. Its more basic than Santa Pod both track wise and facility wise. But it has a great club/amateur feel to it that more than compensates IMO. Even in the RWYB classes cars are lined up to run in class order. starts with the small engine hatches(pocket rockets) and moves up car/engine wize. Good for 300ZXs as they run the NAs in a sepatate class to the TTs. We aint ever getting our own private day at the Pod so just get down to a couple of rounds of the Club challenge.

Z day at Santa Pod
There were only 40/50 cars at Santa Pod on Sunday. no masses. no chavs. and virtually no big power cars. There is a regular crowd from Z club who go and newbies are always welcome. Several of us have a number of years experience and are always on hand to assist newbies. New comers are always encouraged and we never put down anyone for slowness etc. I saw a couple of ladies in your age group Saz running Peugeot 306s in stock form. They were having the time of their lives. Nobody was humiliating them or even paying any attention to them. It just isnt like that. Big power cars and owners dont "take over" the plce. They queue up in turn like the rest of us. Most of them are so involved in setting up their cars etc that they pay no attention to other runners. The opportunity to come and have a go is always there at all six rounds. All you need to do is turn up.

Z day at Santa Pod
IMO this wont happen any time soon. The 2008 Z Club Drag challenge is already under way( Ist round last Sunday) Its a struggle to get more than 10 people to turn up for these events at £30 a day let alone persuade enough people to turn up during the week to make such a day viable.

ZX as track day car
Im guessing by the tone of your post that lowering your motoring costs is what you are looking to achieve. Sadly running a track day 300ZX will be more expensive than having a stock road car. also buying a diesel car doesnt save money unless you are doing huge annual mileages. modern petrol engines are almost as efficient as diesel ones. Remember diesel is more expensive to buy . diesel cars are more expensive to buy and also to service etc. Track days are great fun... but they are not races . the up side of them not being races means that expensive stuff like bag tanks, cages and built in fire systems are not needed. The downside is that they are non competitive so after a few boredom will set in. Thay are not cheap either. look at Bookatrack.com to see typical prices. Buying a trailer will cost a fair bit. The 300ZX is a big car and needs a full pro spec 4 wheeltrailer . That means a decent size vehicle to tow with. you need to look at towing capacities and weights before buying a tow vehicle. You can insure against damage on track but it is normally very very pricey. At the very minimum you will need to seriously up grade the stock brakes. R33GTR or 350Z brembos are the minimum level. the suspension too on an old car like the typical 300Zx will need a full rebuild/upgrade. Track days wear up tyres at a high rate and ordinary road tyres dont stand up to that sort of abuse too well, so you may need to add a set of "track day tyres" to your list of stuff to buy. I would guess an opening spend of £1500 to £2000 will get you up and running.

Got to be worth something to someone???
Was on ebay recently. looked a total shed. But at £300 it will break nicely.

Brakes
Depends how good you are at making adapter brackets. Z32 calipers have 100mm between the centers(approx)

New Exhaust
LOL!! You can try bud. IIRC I paid £395 FITTED in 2005 so I still think that their current price is very competitive. There are cheaper systems available Im sure if you shop around but IMO cheap dont equal good.:nono:

New Exhaust
Yep they will make and fit for you to whatever style you want. I was the original SWB customer who first had one made from scratch when they discovered they couldnt adapt a 2+2 system. I have just fitted it on my second SWB car a month ago. several other forum members including Apache have had them done.
