  4. Just found this in another thread: hi there i have just got a 300zx when i got it the boost was turned off via the bov so i turned it fully on with doing that as soon as i got up2 4500rpm the clutch would just slip so i turned it down so its about half way and its fine and revs well up2 6000 ive been told its coz of air in the clutch and it needs bleeding please help regards matt Matt that is a boost control valve and as Jeff has just pointed out to you if you start turning that valve up you will be buying a new engine or new Turbos. It may be the case that that is the reason you have soot or burnt oil on the rear of the car. You may be forcing the oil past the rear turbo seals and burning oil. you need to turn the boost level down to below 9psi to start with and see how things are. Also you need to find out what supporting mods are fitted for bigger boost pressure. If you blow your engine Im looking for a spare engine for a forged rebuild ;) Allan Allan
  5. The little blue tap sounds like a manual boost control valve. When you tightend it down you have increced the boost pressure and so the hp, which in turn has made the clutch slip because it wont take the excess power. What do you think jeff? Allan
  6. Try this one! Pictures are a bit old things have moved on a bit further, but the basics are still the same Allan
  7. Yes the wheels are the same as my old ones, before I got the Stroseks, John had them them and then damaged them. I did not realise he bought another set, I thought he refurbed my old ones, But here is the dajavou
  8. Every coil has a resistance in this case 4ohm or 2ohm. If you measure the resistance and get 4ohm the voice coil is not damaged if you get no resisance the voice coil is open circuit
  9. John look in my rides to see where I put the number plate
  10. There is 0v at a star point on a 3phase circuit but I still would not put my finger on it to check!!!
  11. Have you done what I said? take the driver out of the enclosure and put a meter across the terminals and raed the impedence, NEVER put a DC voltage across a voice coil! Allan
  12. mmmmmmmm bit of dajavoue me think!!!! :)
  13. Have you taken the driver out of the enclosure to see if one of the wires have come out of the connectors. if that is ok you will have to check the voice coil has not gone open circuit with a meter. Allan
  14. Are you on the lowest point on the teins? -50? on the back end
  15. Sorry Alan thats gone right over my head:confused: Allan
  16. Dropping it to the floor to get the right stance with the wide arch kit on. -50mm rear and -35mm front. Every time I see a stone, bump or hump I cringe as the splitter on the front scrapes over everything! Getting it on an off the drive is a chore in its own right. Having the paintwork perfectly flated every chip leves the car going down hill from when it was done. I am even scared to drive it due to possible damage and cost of damage. What a fix to get into, still wouldnt be without the Zed, UNLESS I get the right vert to widebody :-) Allan
  17. water ski-ing
  18. You cant get the invertor for the kick plates. They were sold by Smithy but the guy who suplied the inverters and indiglow plates disapeared. Danny from DTA was trying to get new inverters and plates to repair the ones that went wrong under garentee but to no sucsess. Sorry you have red lettered sill plates like the rest of us. Allan
  19. Well what a day! The Bank of England has lowered the base intrest rate by 1.5% and Asda and Sainsburys have anounced that they will be cutting the price of patrol at their forecourts by 2 pence a liter, What next? Allan
  20. Sorry its Owen developments not Norris (me being forgetful)
  21. Dave I rang him twice to check out what was being said then rang Norris and they comfermed that the t25 was not avalible as a new unit, I pointed them towards the various sites in the states but still told the same. Someone must know the truth LOL
  22. Bearing in mind you still have cats, your turbos will most likely to be stock and 4 stud. I dont think enyone would upgrde turbos an put the cats back on! LOL
