This is the diverter valve of an ariston combi (might not be the one you have) there is a diaphram in the round housing the becomes pitted or the pin shaft gets stuck. but this is what you are looking for in the boiler. if its less than a year claim on the warentee Allan

Defo the diverter valve sticking! i expect the diaphram is getting old. You can get a service kit for it from the control centre im sure. but are you competenmt to fit it, if you you dont feel up to it get a heating engineer wont cost a bome to do. Allan

You fit 60mm wheel spacers, or have -31 offset wheels as I did. Allan

Do you have a combi boiler? if so it is more than likley the diverter valve, if you have on open vent system it will be the motorized valve.

Get it on the PC and do a test.

Yup, you need the workshop manual to get the readings for resistance and testing method.

Its been a few years since I had a speed sensor in my hand but I recall the sensor is a sealed unit, you can get the pinion gear off but thats about it. also be carefull putting it back in as the pinion is only plastic and you can get it wrong and strip the worm off it. To be truthfull you will get sick of getting under the car to get it in and out. Just get one off one of the breakers and have done Allan

Sorry miss read the first bit I thought you had the door key. Then you will find that the aftermarket motor link will be at fault (come undone/ broken) you really need to get a door key sorted somehow or your going to be up shit creek if the battery dies on the car. You will find youself crawling under the cat to get a lead on the starters positive conection to get power in the car to open the central locking one day. NOT a nice job!

Anyone have a link to do old driver update scans that are free and safe! I have an old pc that I am loading windows 2000 on but there is no driver on the disc to do the mother board chipset/video drivers. all help would be welcome thanks Allan

If the fob is u/s and the plastic clip is broken.then neather will open the door it will give the situation you have, as David said look to see if your passinger side operates when you turn the key in the drivers door. Allan
