  1. I'm in the same position and really want to transplant the engine into something retro. Someone on the other Z forum is putting a VG30DETT into a tranny van as we speak. I'd love to put it in something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170859041999?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 ...for an awesome Jeepers Creepers / Driving Wars / Death Race type truck! But I guess its really shouting out for a loud V8!!
  2. single grey connector plug? starter motor red plug is speed sensor next grey plug along on the gearbox (quite high up) is neutral switch, which needs connecting up then wiring altering at front of car, as you only need to use 2 pins. The last plug isn't used as its for the overdrive on the auto. IIRC LOL HTH
  3. heard plenty of beeps coming from your unit so guess you had fixed it :)
  4. Nah dave not yet, the knock sensor fault puts the car into safety boost mode or at least I think thats what I've read before, but now the AVCR is fitted the standard boost solenoids have been unplugged so it shouldnt affect anything with the fault, or so I reckon?
  5. Well I found the fault, was down to a bad earth! Now running 15psi quite happily and is the best the Z has ever sounded/driven/felt since I got it! Next up... Get the Greddy turbos and 555cc injectors fitted that I have in stock! :thumbup1:
  6. Your Z is stunning Al, you know that if you sell it you WILL have withdrawal symptoms... why not book it in at zedworld for a once-over and have a look at those two issues? if they were fixed surely you'll be able to enjoy it more. If you sold it and got something else, you'd only start being paranoid and find lots more faults with it or things that aren't to your liking... its a vicious circle, lol :)
  7. cheers dazza, yeah the poor thing was rotting away so was good to finally get it fitted, think its looked out from the garage at about 6 zeds since I bought it lol.
  8. Well after spending 2 years in the garage, my Apexi AVCR boost controller finally made it onto the Z yesterday!:huh: The install went fine and I set the controller up as per the instructions I found on a Z site, but today when testing on the road it was reaching about 0.5bar then after that it was hesitating and spluttering. Could this be down to a boost leak somewhere maybe? I didnt have an inline filter for the boost pipework but google would suggest that many people run without them. The car has no misfires or other running issues however I did notice that my Blitz engine monitor picked up a fault on the knock sensor circuit... this wouldnt affect things would it? thanks for any input! just want my car to run right and go well lol :thumbup1:
  9. Happy birthday Dave

  14. Mine is mid '93 so no good here either.
  15. Had a think what the problem was on mine, I took the steering wheel and clockspring off, the cable had snapped right next to the connector due to years of turning. maybe worth a look?
  16. welcome dave. looking forward to pics!
  17. I think he makes stuff up since he banged his head on his Z lol.
  18. Forgot about the insomnia thing. At least the forum will have a 24hour security guard now.

  21. whats happening with the plate from the car?
  22. Are you sure its not 'Thanks in retard'?
  23. throttle pedal? why you changing that? is it different?! I've heard you can peel back the arch liner to gain access to it, thats the stage mine is up to but all I can see is this big blue relay looking thing with two connectors going to it side by side. Oh and what glue did you use to stick the clutch and brake pedals in with?
  24. you done the wheelarch wiring change yet? is it the big blue relay with two connectors going to it?
