I took the chance and bought mine with a seized turbo for £800. Had the bits to fix it already, so has been a bit of a bargain UK manual TT. Got about £800 of bits to fit to it, this is where the fun (and spending) starts.

I jacked the rear end up the other day on the rear tow eyes, was really sturdy but is this not advisable for future use?

Its not the viscous is it? If it is the power steering pump then you'll probably need to undo the 2 rad brackets and lift the rad out, but its accessible from there.

found out some interesting trivia about the plane from the bombing the other day... I knew it was in a scrap yard about 20 miles from me (saw it years ago) but found out that they are getting £850 a month to store it there!!!!! :shock:

After taking the plunge and buying some 'uprated intercoolers' and not knowing what make they were... seems like its paid off and my luck was in, so I now have a pair of ARC Intercoolers :dance: pictured with standard ones for comparison. I hear ARC are pretty good in the intercooler world, can anyone confirm this? I found a price of $2131 for the pair brand new :shock:

has he told you how much he wants for it?? wouldnt expect it to be any less than £50k. Probably closer to £100k...

its worth doing them all to at least eliminate some of those pesky pipes in the engine bay! :smash:

Oooh check you Dave ;) I had to buy my 3rd console as the others packed up but I have a black elite model now :D I take it the one you have been offered is a 'Premium' and not an 'Arcade', if its the latter then it wont come with a hard drive.

Yeah left the a/c pump on whilst we lifted it out, but its coming off tomorrow as I'll be doing away with the a/c. The oil line certainly seemed ok from a visual inspection, we had a good poke aroung to make sure there was nothing obvious :)

Finally got round to dragging the engine out of the red zed today to get the drivers side turbo replaced. Came out easy enough but don't see how you lot can do it in an hour or two :confused: Turbo was well and truly seized, wasn't oil starvation and certainly wasnt bearing collapse. What usually causes them to fail? Check out the Technicolour Dream Rope © :rofl: Its back in and mounts are in place, gonna spend the evenings over the next week plugging it all in and getting it ready for action next weekend. Then the real fun begins, I'll have a Z1 lightweight flywheel, exedy paddle clutch, uprated intercoolers and new exhaust system to fit :hyper:
