  1. its really simple to get rid of the cooler in the rad ian, just connect up a uk spec oil cooler. could even just pass it through some copper pipe temporaliy to test.
  2. well i suppose you need to go through a list really. ;coolant system circulation, you know the pumps good but with the crap flaoting about, you where talking about we dont know if the system has become blocked. a blocked rad will so cause issues. ;i would agree with your thoery on the whole over heating via headgaskets, however like jimmer said if its a slight leak it will only leak and pressuirise the system when the engine is under load whic explains your higher speed issues. youve checked the thermostat and the pressure. i think a sniffer test is due this can be purchased cheaply and they are simple to use, they change colour when they detect excess co2 which indicats exhaust gases leaking into the coolant system. this would also tend to blow water pipes like the small ones at the back of the block etc. you could also do compression and leakdown tests, sure you could borrow the equipment. try for starters running a hose through the rad see how much and how quickly it comes out. these standard rads are classic for blocking up and they werent much cop when it worked properly. process of elimination buddy.
  3. i have some lol brand new set of two lower ones.
  4. Dont get me wrong I do quite like them but theyre a bit soft. The z32 makes them look silly in a straight line, theyre about the same on fuel, more to tax and insure. Not to mention the deprication on them, will be buying tbey to brake for the wheels and gh he brakes if they get any cheaper. If you want a daily theyre plenty out there in that budjet that will be better value for money, snd you dtill have the 300 for driving pr.operly.end
  5. Box itself is the same an extra bump to do with the starter ispresent, and obviously different speed sensor. Rear diff is shorter geared for acceleration, very good for quarter mile times. And the prop is different on the diff side. The half shafts are 4 bolt rather than 6 but that is irrelivant for most of us, a gtr diff can be mated in inits place to gain extra strength should you require it..... Im very tempted to buy a series 2 na manual to break, just got no where to do it atm :(
  6. First things first do a compression test, sniffer etc. however it def dont sound great, but it doesnt automatically spell the end. If the money etc is there see it as an opertunity, simply buying another will leave you with new unknowns. You could potentially spend engine rebuild money to be no further forward.
  7. Always best to be looking forward when pushing the lightspeed button
  8. Hrm if you could get it moving to test the box its probally a cheap way to getting manual and na gearing on a tt
  9. they do run rich on boost for safety, there are some tests you can do like decelerating from x revs in 3rd etc. could be something moire sinister but if it was just alittle bit an dyou where gunning it then thats probally it
  10. theres a trick you can do by using the alternating current setting on the multimeter what ever the reading is shows what your powerdrain is, or osmething along those lines sorry i cant be more specfic
  11. Ianl was talking bout this a while back im sure and said that even with the bigger disc they overheated witgin 5 laps, the brembo conversion is apprantly the way to go.
  12. I was planning on cutting the horizontals out anyways. But yeah need to see more pics
  13. **** yeah, there is a direct corrolation between front splitters and baby safety. proven fact! also more importantly, they look cool. Congrats on the baby man
  14. here bazzer i hear your gonna be a daddy?
  15. just seen these on the mighty bay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300ZX-BX-STYLE-FRONT-LIP-SPLITTER-BUMPER-bodykit-body-kit-/350508562792?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4381736259405314155 nicely done dave, i like these and its been needed for a while. obviously thats janus's old car and marty has changed the front bumber now so has anyone got one fitted to a tt yet? be nice to see some more pics.
  16. i wish the tt's sounded as good as the na's. the 350 sounds pretty nice on the overrun. those turbos dont half mask the over rev, does decatting help improve that?
  17. ive not washed mine for er a while :/ and there is a definate film across the rear bumper etc, tbh the cars are mapped to run rich on boost in any event, so a little bit of build up unless you never boost is normal. also its a 20 year old engine so some oil etc is gonna seap by now and again, carbination will fall off blah blah blah, unless its actually smoking or the back or the car is black with soot aftera few miles i wouldnt worry too much.
  18. the yanks warm it up and stick tennis balls between the dash ad the windshield so i hear.
  19. on eof my mates fell down a 9ft empty swimming pool when we were riding bmx when we were younger shattered his eye socket and his elbow. ended up with 70 odd sitches and over 30 staples. as said chick loves scars..... :) chin up ey lol
  20. shine a torch up there either the rocker covers have gone VERY common, or it could be a oil feed line from the turbo. also worth checking your power seering fluid level. a littl eoil can go along way...... i have have the same issue and im pretty certain without pulling the block i will be chasing it around forever. if you can clena it all off then get it running see where it comes from...
  21. i dont think the front steering rack is much different, all the extra gubbins the extra impellor and lline on the pump the extra take offs on the pas pot etc are all related to the hicas. the front rack you simply have a high pressure feed and low pressure return. both about 10mm internal diameter, and a 22mm odd i/d main feed pipe from the res to the pump.
  22. i dont know how confident you guys are going to be but it may be worth using a spot welder just to tack things inplace when your doing the inner sill etc, take alot of the hap hazard outta things, and give syou a solid base which you can then get the mig into.
