Pretty much as you say, I can see where he was going it just wasn’t executed well. From 10m away or passing you at 50mpgh it probably looks pretty good. I like the wheels. I like the fender flares, the fronts are missing in this video. If the skirts and front wings were finished properly they would also look good. If he spent the time he wasted making that rear spoiler finishing the skirts and stuff it wouldn’t look half bad. Cheers for the experienced advice there, it’s definitely owned by us I remember that but quite distinctly. I can’t recall the exact name but I basically took a loan out with a company as a third party. So I guess it isn’t a PCP. It was three years ago now so maybe I’ve mis remembered some of it. I had three options at the end. I’ve got to look at it later anyway because the mortgage advisor will want to see it tomorrow. I’m very much expecting to chop it in, not because it’s done but just to keep the ball rolling so to speak. I’ve been very anal with it for obvious reasons, it needs an allot returned before I hand it back but it’s otherwise unmarked. They’ve started sending me invites etc, I gues they want me to chop in early.

The Skoda is up next year, interested to see what they offer me.

Oh Christ, the amount of people that chop a car in for minor faults because “well it’s getting on now” at three years old is crazy. Still there’s plenty of people out there with too much money and not enough common sense, only got to look at house prices for that to be clear.

With all due respect your friends have shit implusive deals. A few of us have gone this route and it’s worked out very well, if your sensible. My wife’s car is on a PCP plan I think it is (basically a loan). So we do own the car, we have a guaranteed value if we sell it back which is higher than the outstanding loan. The deposit was the value of her old car, not much. Works out about £150 a month over 46 months, with 0% interest, then we have multiple options. Cars worth just short of 20k. This equals safe, reliable motoring and if it breaks it’s going to be a warranty job which gets me off the spanner’s. £150 a month isn’t nothing but it’s not much. I paid more than that for my first cars insurance :pinch: people rinse that on crap like mobile phones and sofas on contacts. The point I’m making is it can work very well if your sensible.

It was over £1.50 a litre not that long back for a long time don’t forget. We’ve had a nice holiday last year or two on petrol prices.

Maybe he is crazy crazy wealthy, maybe he is just rich but unless £1m is pocket change I’d be pretty sad myself if all I could think to do with £1m was buy an old merc. :lol:

Neither does a soldered joint Si... it’s the heatshrink you apply afterwards that does that.

Your testing my memory now. I believe it’s to do with the acid content of the flux but more importantly in applications like automotive and aeronautical it’s preferable because a crimped joint is far less likely to suffer from vibration fatigue. Solder is tidy and convenient but not necessarily best. Tbh as long as the joint is properly insulated, I doubt your going to notice a difference in most automotive applications. And yes, those scotch clip things are pants. They work, ok, but not great. Some old control panels I work on have a similar connection and they are bloody annoying.

A crimped joint is actually superior to a soldered joint btw.

Lack of funding and interest in us from the big smoke I’m afraid. When your main instrustry is tourism it’s a bleak winter. As you know The North get funding but the southwest is assumed wealthy because it’s all about the “north south divide”. There is very little infrastructure or industry down here, lots of poverty. The wealth in patches is mostly held by rich in comers with great inequality. But hey, the suns out today and it looks nice.

It’s about 90% A road from my house. A busy A road that regularly comes to halt.
