  1. Iwould double check the blue ecu plug mate make sure its properly seated in the connection common cause of probs when ecu has been removed also was it just the chip you changed or did you have to fit a chip carrier as well. make sure chip is fitted right way round , notch in end of chip towards middle of ecu iirc, if you had to fit chip carrier double check all soldered joints.
  2. keep her mate you know you would be gutted if you ever saw her running about wi someone else driving.
  3. fitted mine last night quite an easy job just make sure the key on the crank is clean and fitted properly, an impact gun is handy for undoing crank bolt if you can get one.
  4. settings should be limiter 1.10 kg/cm gain 6 ratio 0 = 7psi 35=9psi 47=12psi 58=15psi there is full info for setting somewhere on forum cant remember where i found it tho HTH.
  5. frasergtti ebay exact same ones mate just lucky on the bidding thats all.
  6. just got a set of these will be fitting them this week, they look like theyre well enough made tho, got mine for £90, bargain. Bending pipes and getting them to line up prperly is harder than it looks also requires specialised kit when it comes to stainless doubt if you could get someone in the trade to make them for the price theyre asking.
  7. mechanic/mot examiner.
  8. marcz32 my chip is jwt and it was overfueling by about 15% at tickover and low throttle went through £20 of petrol in two days and that was just doing the 3 mile run to and from work, apexi afr sorted that out tho was thinkin on getting one of andyp,s chips there supposed to be pretty good maybe use the afr to fine tune it to car as well.
  9. picked up new veilside nose cone/spoiler today, what should have been a six maybe seven hour round trip turned into ten and a half hours. bad accident shut down the A9 took over an hour to do 1 mile then to be diverted which added 30 miles to trip.Anyway thats me ready to start pulling the z apart was going to keep a record of actual weight savings made when removeing or replaceing parts i.e weigh the new parts before fitting and subtract that from weight of old parts so you should have a good idea of actual wight removed from car, anyone know the weight of a standard front bumper by any chance or has anyone got one removed they could weigh and let me know cheers.
  10. after a few shots of my z one o my mates wants to build a wide ass z with a difference, a porsche v8 engine. he,s got the engine, gearbox and all ancilleries there and loves the way a z drives and looks, so hes looking for a rolling shell anything considered but idealy without bonnet, wings rear hatch etc as all this will be getting replaced any way doesnt even mind if theres a bit of rust about as long as its not on the point of being terminal, so anyone up this way got or know of one in this kind of condition the closer to moray area the better. thanks.
  11. marcz32 what chip you got mate you got it fitted yet
  12. yeh got the same concerns myself mate you,d probably get most of your money back on fleabay tho odd items like this seem to get good money there. cheap big brake conversion for you mate bmw 330 diesel discs approx 325 mm dia bout the biggest you can fit with 17"s you just need to make an addapter bracket for calipers and a centering ring for the dics stops my z pretty good and can be done for under £100.
  13. Any decent garage should be able to fit a manual conversion, you should be able to supply them with enough info from the varios z sites to make sure they get it right first time. Im a mechanic and will be converting my own z to manuel later this year and ive managed to find all the info i need through this club would offer to do this for you but not till ive done the conversion on my own car first then i would know exactly whats involved im also a fair distance from edinburgh ( elgin in moray ) dont know if thats a problem for you mate.
  14. As yampie dog said, they should have issued you with a 10 day delayed prohibition order which would then mean if you havnt removed the tints and had it checked by vosa within that period you would automaticaly be banned from using that car on the road. iirc it should be 10 days delayed if your tints are below 30% and its instant prohibition if thre above 30% would have to check special notices (mot) to confirm that though. think youve been lucky can be a real pain getting an appointment with vehicle inspectorate.
  15. thanks pk1 thats just what i was looking for.
  16. where did you find the paddle changer mate been looking for one of these, got under drive pulley to fit as well just need one more belt for that.
  17. unfortunatly its now illegal to have any tint on front sde windows of car, rear windows not a problem and mot tester cant sign off ticket for removeing tints, can only be done by vehicle inspectorate, mot stations dont have equipement for measureing tints. just be glad you dont have realy dark tints they could put a prohibition order on your car immediately for that, and it doesnt matter if tints were fitted in another country or not even if its actualy tinted glass they can still make you remove it. and yep i think it sucks too, police round here have actualy started issueing asbos against lads with modded cars.
  18. Doing the same myself got a week off work and in that time ive got a new front spoiler to fit also want to rip out air con, cruise control ,hicas and anything else thats not required and ive got nice shiney decat and tubby pipes to fit as well gonna be a busy week i think.
  19. 1990 j spec auto 115000 km on the clock tt veilside body kit, trust cat back zorsts, imaculate underneath and engine bay a few small marks on body work and front spoiler broken £900 plus £300 for replacement front spoiler and £30 for steering columb u/j thats all i needed to spend to get my z, ok so ive bought a new set of 18" wheels and a set of stainless decat pipes and a jwt chip for it but wheels that wre on it were in good nick just didnt like the style so i still havn,t broken the 2 grand mark and ive got a great z to play with.
  20. got ripped of by this guy on ebay no chip, said he dropped it on the way to post office and offered a refund 2 months on and still no refund and he,s insisting refund has been paid into my paypal account. recieved refund this evening so appologies due.
  21. DAZsw,s wheels are axe ap30,s 9.5" rears and either 8 or 8.5" fronts 18,s all round. got same wheels on mine.
  22. store with fluids run engine until its properly up to temp at least once a month and make sure park brake is left off place something in front or behind a wheel to stop car rolling if necessary. antifreeze is also anti corrosion alloy blocks wouldnt last very long if it was corrosive.
  23. wouldnt say it was dangerous to leave clutch side disconected as it only helps with amount of presure you have to aplly to clutch pedal servo only acts aas a helper making clutch pedal liter and therefore easier to use if you are happy with thje way it worlks without the booster then disconect vacume side of things , clutch will sxtill work as it should but without assistance and bgrakes should be back as they were please scuse spelling and lack of punctation etc blame it on 1 bottle of spicy and a bottle of baileys fooook me heads burlin .
  24. Have a look on the sxoc board they will tell you all you need to know about it there mate.
