  1. sounds like safety boost mode... it cuts in when a fault is detected from the sensors. I've never encountered this, but I'm pretty sure you wanna get it on a conzult sharpish... Turning the engine off and on again might be a temporary fix, but you could end up damaging the engine. Its a quick fix but possibly not a clever one...
  2. I would say so - but you really want an air-filter if you're gonna get it chipped and a boost controller.. Help maximise the benefits.
  3. Doh, knew I shoulda kept the Batmobile - woulda been handy for nipping across the Irish Sea :boat:
  4. I'm not normally a fan of vented bonnets either.. But I voted for the second option. Works well on a black car with the vented wings. ANd your front bumper definitely helps pull it all together. To be honest, I think any combination looks good. Why not the carbon bonnet and vented nose panel? Or would that be OTT in your opinion? I demand a mock up! :tt2:
  5. Hmmm, Something ain't quite right there Gary... Lewis and Button might be wondering why they've got only 1 forward gear and 7 reverse
  6. Surely the NSX is the ultimate mainstream Jap supercar? Not the most powerful, not the fastest - but when you factor in it was test driven and developed by Ayrton Senna, that's gotta count for something. Anyone else seen the video on you tube of senna putting a white NSX through its paces at Suzuka? Thats how I drive my work van! Great car Sudesh, you are obviously a man of great taste!
  7.:lol::lol::lol: Wow, never knew they existed. I can just imagine the threads on that site 'Kleenex or Asda own brand - which are the best hankies?' or 'I've just found my cigarette lighter - it was in the glove box LOL!' Good times  Of all the things I wouldn't admit to on the internet, that would have to be well up in my top 10 (along with: masturbating in public places, my attraction to children, tax avoidance, admitting to beastiality, giving elderly people the wrong medication etc etc :surrender:)
  8. Yes, thats right - it passes into the cavity between the inner and outer wing about mid way up, then its left to its own devices and the law of gravity to find its way out
  9. This is why I always bring my car to Zedworld! Thanks Jeff for sorting my embarassing leaky problem! :detective: Such a massive undertaking, for such a simple problem. Why on earth did Nissan think water and fuses were a good combination? Great job.
  10. 'Next time Gadget, next time' :shifty: OK, allow me to explain. Someone on here was on about turning a series 4 interior into a series 2 by retro fitting some of the controls. The problem was, when you come to fit the heater pods, there aren't enough wires or connections to allow this due to a different loom? So (erroneously), I assumed because of Nissan's cost cutting measures, it was not possible to have climate control on a series 3 or 4. I knew a lot of stuff made a return on the '99 spec (like boost gauge etc), but was under the impression the series 3 and 4 were the poor relations - hence why someone would want to retro fit a series 2 interior into a series 4. So, lengthy excuse over - can I fit climate controls to my Zed ('95)? Answers on a post card please
  11. Very James Bond! You come up with a design and I'll place an order now! Only problem is, if its too obvious some Doo-gooder will report you to the filth, ahem, I mean the poo-lice, dam it, police.
  12. Quality! If only kids in England were clever enough to do the same!
  13. I don't follow, You selling them or just doing them for your kids/friends? Those one on ebay look crap anyhow - weren't even made of Nomex. Pah
  14. Well said Damo, You off to Zedworld on sat mate?
  15. Here's a fascinating statistic. Something like 30% of fatal road traffic accidents involve a vehicle travelling at excess speed. Which means 70% of fatal accidents have nowt to do with speed... AND if I'm going to get really pedantic - statistically you are more likely to die in an accident where excess speed is not a factor. So I'm going to petition the government to increase speed limits and, therefor, reduce fatalities on British roads. I'm off to chuck a fire extinguisher off the Houses of Parliment, anyone fancy coming too? :taz:
  16. Thats unusual, It looks like a series 3/4 but it has the heater controls from the series 1/2. Must have been some hybrid crossover or something! I was about to make you an offer for the black one - until I saw that funny looking gear lever and realised it was a auto :hurl: Great purchases - truly, you are a man who can have your cake and eat it! :censored: Welcome back to the fold, hope you enjoy 'em And leave the version S exactly how it is - immaculate and unmolested :tt1:
  17. ZX - TT has/had an TT engine that was running for sale for £200. I'd speak to him and see if its still available. There were a few issues with it, but nothing that couldn't be sorted during a rebuild. I'd speak with Jimmer or Jeff TT regarding an engine rebuild - they seem to be the best at that sort of thing.. Reckon you could probably get an engine back in your car for about £1500 (without having too many mods). Best of luck pal.
  18. If it were a choice between a lady purse and a man purse, I'd definitely have the man purse - christ, I am gay after all :scared: :offtopic:
  19. I was considering removing my spec 3/4 rear wing. I like the '89 spec rear wing and the '99 spec is alright - but the wing my car has doesn't do anything for the lines of the car. Looks a little clumsy, especially where the edges of the wings meet the tailgate. The more I look at it, the more I'm tempted to have it removed. Ultra clean car  What about the Turbo? Surely thats pretty good condition to? Or has it been, ahem, modified? And why do the Japs like rear tints so much? I'm not keen, but I wouldn't want to wreck my rear de-mister by trying to peel it off.. Do you import many cars Sudesh?
  20. Less of the Gaylines, bolty boy. Unless you want me to come over there and bum-rape the living daylights out of you  Sorry, did that sound a bit... I think it did. Just for the record: I'm catagorically not gay... (I think) :hammer:
  21. 2004 was probably when it was imported yeah?
  22. All Jap cars are officially 'Fairlady Z'. You will have to tell the insurance company the right one, but then again, they should know when they check your reg - providing it doesn't come up as an Rover 414i or something daft! Worst luck mate, welcome to the pain of imported cars.
  23. Strewth Sheila, First you buy a new Zed (without selling the old one), now you want some BOV's and Pillar gauges!! Any jobs going at your place Rob? Or is this somtething to do with the hundreds of people who visit your house in the wee hours of the morning? And why did you need 100 heat lamps for your garage? And why does your house smell so sweet? Hmmm, so many questions :hammer:
  24. And who exactly wants this? Do I hear road safety groups crying out for even more draconian measures? Nope. Do I hear green parties saying it will reduce emissions? Nope. Its the fooking useless sods who we vote into power, so they can piss people off with useless fecking schemes, that nobody wants. Bunch of toss pots blowing millions of pounds into a system they hope will become the next golden goose for the government deficit. As if bloody motorists aren't persecuted enough. They still won't catch me hitting a ton and a half down a backroad though. :tt2: If it does come to this, I for one will arm myself with a Stihl Saw and hack the fookin things down. Once it costs em more to put em up than they make in revenue, they'll soon stop bothering. If only, as a nation, we weren't so spineless and stood up for ourselves. I'm off to Egypt :2guns:
  25. Done. You mention ease of driving, but that isn't the same as driver involvement. My mates caterham is actually quite hard to drive (tiny gear stick and heavy steering, pedals very close together etc), but the rewards are fantastic. Does it make it any less fun? Not really, more challenging defo - but more rewarding when you nail a really sweet downshift, corner or lap. Ideally a car should be easy to drive, but it isn't nearly as important as driver involvement. On a similar vein, cornering ability suggests you're referring to the outright speed at which corners can be taken. But on a trackday, only sad fools worry about who got the fastest lap (timing is usually banned and severely punished), normally the same people who worry about who has got the largest motorhome... Again, this isn't nearly as important as having a car which is easily adjustable on the throttle (and therefor catchable if you exceed the limits of grip - which normally does happen at some point). On another note, you don't specify driver preferences such as 'do you want: Fwd, Rwd, 4wd, mid-engined, rear-engined?' etc, etc. As each format has different characteristics should this not be given consideration? Or is it a traditional approach with a MR layout? Think I've probably answered my own question there.. Anyhow, sounds like a really cool project - good luck with it, keep us informed with what happens!
