After a SWB boot mat as mine is starting to look tatty.
  2. If you no one gives you an answer in the coming weeks, I'll remove my wheel and cowling so you can see the set up (wiring totally unchanged between the Momo wheel and the 350z one). I'd do it sooner but it's in for MOT retest tomorrow then off to LakeZ.
  3. http://www.eyermotiv.com/images/Picture%20034.jpg This is what I have ^^^
  4. If it's a 96 car then it would have had an airbag originally (mine is a 95 na). So yeah, clock spring missing. There is a guide over on a yank site for wiring the clock spring to ensure that srs is disabled and light doesn't come on. I can only comment on what is on my car when I removed my momo wheel to fit the 350z wheel.
  5. Hold up. Is your car an airbag model? Not sure if pre airbag cars have a separate arrangement. My answer is based on my own car. - - - Updated - - - But since there are choc blocks in there, it's definitely been gypo'd at some point in it's history.
  6. You're missing the "clock spring". It's the rotating part that allows the horn wiring to rotate around with the steering wheel.

As a rule of thumb, complaints and criticisms are handled better when they are legible. Glad we got this month's spats out of the way in a 24 hour period though. Now can we all just get on with trying to keep our cars on the road for another year?

Just a reminder to those who are doing the convoy. 0945 meeting for 1000 set off. At the HOLIDAY INN HOTEL car park. (This is NOT the services!)
  9. Check in the fuse box. Abs cars have a fuse and wiring. It's completely missing on non ABS cars.
  10. Looks good from a distance! The niggles show up when you get close!
  11. No can do. Failed it's MOT on Friday. Retest on Wed.
  12. This is my VIN plate. Worse than yours!!
  13. Up to 95 base NA is non ABS. (Which is why mine doesn't have it)
  14. With LakeZ and the Z32 25th anniversary meet coming up, I thought I should give the 300zx a good polish. It really needs a respray to be honest as it's stone chipped to buggery. Since I don't have the time for that at the moment a polish will have to do. Fished out all my detailing gear, and set about figuring out which stuff to use this time. Started off with Blizzard snow foam. This came with my Snow Lance, and I'm just using it up before starting on Bubbly Jubbly. It looks good on first application. But it has to be applied neat to get any decent foam, and it breaks down too quickly for my liking. The car had been given a full clay only 3 months ago. So a once over with some Tardis was all it took to remove a few contaminants and the previous wax. That left me with paint that looked like this. Started of with a Lake Country Finishing pad and Menzerna 85RE. Couple of passes with that proved ineffective. Time to up to Lake Country polishing pad and Menzerna 203S. This worked well although some RDS remained. I didn't have a harsher pad/polish available so that had to do. Went over the whole car with 203S and then again with 85RE. Next was Poorboys Black Hole. Amazing stuff. And so easy to apply. Topped with Poorboys Nattys Liquid Blue Finished with some Nanolex trim rejuvenator. Amazing stuff (Half and half pic) - - - Updated - - - Finished!
  15. Ok. So the people I was waiting for have now lost their space. This means there are 5 spaces up for grabs on a first come first serve basis.
  16. £140 for the centre rear section of brake pipe (inc labour). Had a chat with the main guy afterwards. He said he's very sympathetic towards older cars with HIDs fitted properly as they increase safety rather than decrease.
  17. Failed on a corroded brake pipe. Just say waiting on their quote to fix. Everything else ok though.
  18. Mine looks really aged. Someone has taken a polish to it in the past and removed most of the black (unembossed) lettering. If you manage to find somewhere I'd be interested too. I'd keep the original one with my paperwork as proof.
  19. Been up since 0600 fixing a few niggles pre MOT. Booked in at 1000. Fingers crossed.
  20. Speak to someone like Jurgen at JM Imports. Helpful guy and sure he'll talk you through what you need.
  21. Sign up on the 350z-uk forum and PM a user called NeilP. Tell him I sent you for advice.
