The fact you were getting 180 across cylinders does not lend to stuck rings or ring land problems Rich but having said that a motor thats been laid up always benefits from a hard workout to seat the rings again ect...Also checking the oil on these motors via the dipstick can be misleading iff its a fast dip and straight out with the stick,i find it much more acuruate if you dip and count to 5 seconds to let the plastic measure end pick up the oil on 4 sides then pull.

  4. Them ones are the divorced type for a turbo fitment Ian...4 bolt on turbo to replace the elbo.Yours being an NA will need the 3 hole type the same as what Dicky has listed mate.
  5. Tom (mogsy) they will fit yours...Richard as long as you have the pre-series 2 elbo,s on your tubs they will fit yours. They wont fit the late 93 onwards with the pre-cat in the elbos.Ask jeff or mark which type you have.

  9. "hold" it pulls away in 2nd gear..."power" it pulls away in 1st gear and also changes the shift points higher up the rpm range..."middle" it does nothing except takes orders from its last fixed position either hold or power.

  12. your PCV valves should stop that..thats what there for. And anyway you would be hard pressed to spot leaks at 5psi never mind keeping it at that low pressure.Working boost pressure is what it gets every time its run so all,s good.

  18. after fitting new seals and a full flush and re-fill with new fluid the OEM j-spec calipers are fine on my car,whats the weak link is the very small sized front discs imho.
  19. yea ive always liked the japspeed system look myself and imho a good choice of system for not a lot of wonga.

Ide drive for a hundred miles to clear and burn oil out of zorst before anything else....take off the oil filter and cut open with a ring cutter not a hacksaw and take out element and un-ravel on clean paper,any blasting grit will be in filter and self evident before it finds its way to bearings after draining to sump (long shot) but i personly dont think its injested any blasting grit myself
