  3. I had a 92TT series 1 with no bong..i now have a 93TT series 2 with a bong. Series 2 iirc started late 92 so maybe the bong only appeared on series 2 zeds bud.

  8. What team does Ian Botham play in these days?
  9. And dont buy a cheap gauge like i did and have the needle bouncing around on vacume...
  10. Yea been put back a week or so Steve and including machining work and parts around 300 gold coins:crying:
  11. Recently i bought a truck with a tap on the motor for the right price so i thought ide have a bash at an easy fix and replace the camshaft that had a flat lobe,also removed the front engine cover and replaced the timing chain along with a few other small bits like valve stem seals ect. Built the motor back up and she started first time like a good one BUT still had the tap:confused: Thats all i need for an excuse to get dirty so out comes the motor and tears it down to be greeted with this:eek:...Reason being some knob jocky had used too much jointing compound on the block to mains crank cradle and had blocked up number 2 under crown piston oil squirter and over heated the same said piston. Luckly a light hone will bring the cylinder back and the crank needs a polish. Full rebuild kit including 4 pistons..all the plain bearings..oil seals..rings and gaskets to OEM quality only £260,lot cheaper than a zed i hear you say:tt2:
  12. :pint::pint::pint: about bloody time;)
  13. thats why i mentioned sitting for half an hour mate...classic PTU problems with what your confirmed here..iff it was accesible and not under the light then wrapped in a bag of ice would get you further.
  14. the banners look great guys
  15. Could be the PTU....sit for half an hour with the bonnet up and see iff its better when i cools down. Hope you get sorted mate as thats situation your in atm sounds a mare:(
  16. i agree...it just does,nt look right:confused1:
  17. that will be the little toggle valve moving on the back plate of the stat.... when you fit the stat the toggle pin should be at 12 oclock
  18. i had the same thing Ian...turned out to be the fuel pump controll box behind the rear seat on passanger side.replaced that and never came back mate.
  19. looks like all the plastic cladding was an issue there in providing fuel for the fire:sad:...you seem very lucky mate to have somewhere still to live.
  20. Sorry Andrew my post should of been clearer...what i mean is the shims only reach half of the pistons so lets say they are 0.5mm thick then that means the bottom half of the piston not covered by the shim is not reaching the pads by 0.5mm iff you get my drift:wink:
  21. my side exit is a modified Kakimoto bolted to a pair of stainless 3 hole decats...after 4000 rpm it screams like a GSXR. i love it and it turns me on hence why i always drive with my window down:w00t:
  22. I must add but its your call but i left the shims off and let the pistons press directly on the pads...iff you look at the shims they have "witness" marks from only the top half of the pistons so i see it as they have all the clamping force not at a true 90 degree to the pads/piston sides and could or may cause the piston to not come out square causing binding. Ive always done this to my zx calipers with no rattling or adverse effects to the pad operation. I dont want a 10 post shout down from the "but what iff brigade" guys its just something to think about on your brakes;)
  23. low pressure Dan...i done the very same thing in my current zed cutting off an old bolt with a 1mm wheel... cut the pipe through and piece in high pressure fuel hose and clips and its all good.
