  1. meh just carry on with it and tell people you have straight cut gears :p
  2. Don't have much luck with that car eh :(
  3. White with black bonnet, just like a stoke taxi :nelson:
  4. yeah it will make a noise when revving, and at idle. Varies with speed not rpm then? If so then err, gearbox?
  5. likely culprit then, easy to quickly whip the belt off and see if the niose goes away then.
  6. will be the fan belt like you say, when was the last time it was changed? Tightening is an easy job, much easier with the car up on a ramp though :p I'm usually an advocate of doing work yourself, but for the effort and especially if you are not the most mechanically minded then any garage with half a brain between them will be able to do this very quickly. Anyway here is the page from the manual you will be interested in.
  7. should perhaps have thought before posting that. AC will cut out when accelerating, if you even still have it fitted, and PAS rarely go wrong unless run dry of fluid, so yeah, ignore my last post :p
  8. knackered AC or PAS pump sound just like this.
  9. think I just heard a tin of worms bursting open :nelson:
  10. wasn't going anyway but yeah the weather is shite, was disturbing my BTCC viewing this afternoon when the picture was breaking up on the telly :/
  11. wondering, is the engine mounted lower than normal in that? I didn't think it was possible to fit a single intake collector like that under a stock bonnet..
  12. My guess would be brake bias adjustment, quite what it is you are supposed to turn I can't see though.
  13. that aint the disc you can see, its the mounting bell, the disc is much larger
  14. might be good but it looks like a right mess :/
  15. you only get full boost and ignition advance once you reach a certain coolant temp (maybe 65 or 70), your temp sender is almost certainly the cause of the problem.
  16. Sounds like its definitely misfiring. And going on the 'pure petrol' exhaust smell, that rules out injector problems (well, unless you have one stuck open) so must be either the PTU, a coilpack or a plug, or the wiring to one of these. What have you done to check them? What other mods have you had done too, you can't just stick t28's on and hope for the best.
  17. messing around with electronic gadgetry to lift the speed limiter is a bit of a waste of time, money and effort. Just take it along to the likes of John Dixon or AndyP and have one of their chips fitted, then increase the boost, then have fun, then realise the brakes aint worth a damn :p
  18. Router will use bugger all power, turning it on and off is more trouble than its worth and kind of defeats the point of an always on connection, hence why it doesn't featuyre an on/off switch.
  19. Some guy is trying to claim this He is talking a bunch of bull, right?
  20. Markzx would recommend a pacet fan or two, apparently they are the dogs *****cks of electric fans.
  21. Same as always, Technics SL1210's for vinyl, Pioneer CDJ1000's for CD's.
  22. lol whats the point in having antenna control output if it doesn't actually do anything
  23. lol just messing with you ;)
  24. few knockoff nigels in here eh ;)
