Really sorry to hear, but if you keep her at least you will have something fantastic to look foward to when you come home. You would'nt make back hardly anything you've spent on her, so does'nt really make any financial sense to sell up. Be sure to post up all the pictures and spec before you go though. Would love to see whats been done.
  2. Right, I've just done the mod. Mine had the big metal stop, instead of the screw. So those with the screw can just adjust it(or remove screw). Those with the metal stop can just bend the tap out of the way of the metal stop. See pic. With the aid of my Datascan tool, I noted the before and after reading for the TPS at Full throttle. Before : 4.16v After : 4.5v I have'nt driven the car yet to tell it if makes any difference to performance.

  4. Same here....can anyone convince us why not to do this :D Quality video btw
  5. LOL....here is the post I made at the time : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=41621&highlight=headrest The clip was at the bottom of the black plastic headrest mounts, (underneath the cloth/leather, which should now be accessible with the cloth/leather removed) Ignore what I said about button.....I think that was an imaginary one ;)
  6. I had exactly the same problem. Its been a while, so trying to remember, but I think there was a circlip underneath the cloth, that u have to pull out, then you can press in the little button on the headrest mount and pull the whole thing of. ..or something like that !
  7. Thanks guys :D Jeff, that helps, I have an auto electrician friend who is going to take a look tomorrow, and that info will come in handy, thanks :)

    a big pink sofa ?
  9. "300zx" is written in red instead of white, and the inners of the reversing lights have chrome edges to match the 99spec left and right panels.
  10. Thats what happens when u get lost on the way, and arrive late
  11. Hi, Its a Series 1, Jap Import, First Registered in 1992. (possibly manufactuer in 1991, according to date stamps on seat belts..etc)
  12. Hi, Recently purchased a Car Alarm with Remote start. I want to fit it myself, as I have a lot of other Interior stuff to do at the same time, and having studied the instructions and wiring diagrams Im confident I can handle this myself. However there is one problem with the installation, that I guess is down to the relatively unique zed ignition setup. Please see wiring diagram below. It refers in two places to the "High coil", which I take means Ignition coil. But with the zed having 6 individual coils, and a PTU..Im not sure what to do. One wire must be wrapped around the coil, and another needs to be fed to the positive connection on Coil. My guess is that it uses this connection to the Coil to check when the engine is running rather than to actually start the car, since it has a direct feed to the igntion switch to be able to remote start the car. Anyone got and ideas on how to deal with this for the specialist Zed ignition setup ? Thanks
  13. I wont even drive mine to the local shop unless its clean :D ...the water bill in my house has risen since purchasing the zed
  14. The Blue flame item is as far as Im aware, identical to the Mongoose item (and with twin 2.5" tips either side), and is good quality Stainless steel. In fact I read somewhere that Blue flame make exhausts for Mongoose, although dont quote me on that. The 300zx is tested as non-cat fitted car, as there is no Data for its cat emissions. Removing the cat will not cause it to fail emissions. Based on in being very similar (at least) to the mongoose system, you can expect it to be a fairly quiet exhaust, but that gives a nice deeper sound than stock. It will give improved breathing, and consequently a Power increase, with an improvement in throttle response and spool up, especially if decatted.
  15. that does look very tidy, and a decent retrim. £2600 and reserve is met  Another vastly underpriced zed, bringing down the value of others :slap:
  16. Metal Mickey...thought u were talking about my Missus's vibrator for a minute then
  17. Really looking forward to the results on this one, its being fitted at Ztech tomorrow? , let us know what its like :)
  18. Nice...to which address should I send u mine ;)
  19. The little white boxes, are showing that they are unchanged for those years. if its P-reg then it would have the series 3 onwards spoiler..if the car you saw had a standard fitment spoiler : The non-digital aircon - There was mention of this before, and it was said that it was pre-production only. I've never seen a Zed in real life without digital aircon, as it was standard fitment. Perhaps they changed it to an option in later years :(
  20. All I can find is Timing for 90-95 Zed listed as 15 +/- 2 degrees BTDC Which I know is correct for the TT, but cant find anything mentioning that it would be different for the NA. Better wait for something else to confirm.
  21. whats the questsion ? ;)
  22. There are many, many posts/argument on this But, To Quote Ryan from Ztech : "I use a 10/40 running in oil to run the cars for the first 1000 miles by millers , then change it to 10/60 millers or castrol"
