  2. Count me in.
  3. I have'nt owned an Auto 300zx, but I test drove 6 Auto's and 3 manuals, before I purchased my Manual TT, so have a pretty good idea of how the auto feels compared to the Manual. I preferred the Manual gearbox compared to all of the Auto's, in felt a lot more of a drivers car. There was certainly nothing wrong with the Auto, but I do feel that a lot of it comes down to your own personal preference. I owned an Automatic Performance Bmw for 4 years before I got the zed, so im not prejudiced against them, its just IMO a car like the 300zx suits a Manual gearbox. Its a High performance Sports car (or a Supercar, depending on you perspective). You would'nt buy a Ferrari or TVR with an Automatic box. Plus there are so many bad experiences reported with Autobox failures and they are not able to handle as much power as the manual box. It also avoids having to defend it when everyone who gets in your car goes "oh..its an auto" ;) All my IMO ofcourse ! ;)

The Tatsu Club have invited us along to a meet in Bristol on Tuesday 17th. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=49255 and then onto Jafest on the 21st. :hyper: Marcus has kindly arranged the Intepro rolling road meet on June 19th, but we could arrange small meet another time in June also to get together for a few drinks ?

Cambelt should be done at the 60k (miles) service along with a lot of other items. Its the biggest Service, and its not cheap. (Around £400-£500 from somewhere like Ztech, or over £1k for the 60k service at a dealer(avoid dealers;)) You've registered to the forum. The next step is to Subscribe to the club. See the first few threads in here for instructions : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41

Welcome :D Basic but significant Modifications - Cat Back exhaust - (£500'ish) - Decat (£150) - Induction kit - (£100) - Chip (under £100) - Boost upgrade (couple of Pounds for Boost jets or about £250 for Electronic Boost controller) However I would recomend concentrating on Braking and Handling either before or immediatly after the above Performance upgrades.
  7. :headvswal Damn stupid me
  8. here ya go http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=48809&highlight=tesco Its currently on trial in the South East.

  10. I'll be there too :D
  11. There are a couple of us on here running full in-car Computers with Conzult/Datascan. (see my rides) I dont have a lot of linux experience but would be interesed to see how the Linux system works out.
  12. The Apexi comes as the most recomended filter, but you dont need the Twin setup. Just the Single Apexi Induction filter. Danny at DTA (check traders forum) sells them for around £85 I believe.
  13. err...its a white box with a red cross in it. Not very original ! ;)
  14. SE Nissan would (should have, and they certainly have the experience, so I expect they did) have already remapped your ECu at the same time as fitting the boost jets. The ECU does not increase your boost, it remaps the fuel and timing to handle the extra boost. Then you use Boost jets or a Boost controller to give the increased boost. How much boost were you getting ? Perhaps the Boost jet size was too small, and giving too much boost?
  15. yes we do ! c',mon dont be selfish ;)
  16. look forward to seeing her. What all the work thats been done ?
  17. No adjustment or tweaks "needed", but you could get the car remapped to make better use of the high octane rating, but then you would need to ensure that you always used that fuel, but I dont think a remap would benfit too much if its already mapped for 98 Ron fuel.
  18. Lmao  :smash:
  19. Oil cooler. Uk cars had bigger oil coolers than the Jap imports.
  20. forgot about the datascan, yep I have mine on permantly in the car on the in-dash screen.... so thats Oil pressure Boost RPM Air Flow Water Temperature (C or F) O2 Sensor O2 Sensor Right Hand Speed Battery Voltage Throttle Position Sensor Injector Time Ignition Timing AAC Valve Air Fuel Base Duty Cycle LOL....it should do ;)
  21. Boost, Oil pressure, Water temp, Volts Recognise the Pillar-Pod Chopper ?;)
  22. lol..that was brilliant ...oh the good ol' days
  23. Congrats, glad to hear its on its way to being sorted :D Everyone....Aftermarket Water temp and Oil pressure gauges !! ;)
  24. I've just finished putting mine back on, you need to push them forwards (towards front of car) then you should be able to lift up. Took a bit of wiggling but they come of eventually.
  25. You can buy the precut kit from Zcentre. ..or you can buy the Vinyl from any material shop at about £7 a metre (you will need 3 metres). You pull of the old tweed, use it as a template, and stick on with a good Solvent based brush on Instant contact glue.
