Please convince me to forget about a 300zx
The NA and TT are the same insurance group. However some insurers make exceptions, ignore the ratings and take the difference into account. Although with many insurers who are "scared of imports" its very easy to insure a UK TT for less than a NA Import :headvswal

Remove rear spoiler?
it will also be fixed with Mastik glue. Can be very tough to remove. Some have used Fishing line to cut through the glue in the past, other just use a LOT of brute force.

Please convince me to forget about a 300zx
Welcome :D Expense - Well parts are more expensive that a Ford mondeo, but there is an excellent resource of Suppliers in the Club. - Fuel economy is never going to be conservative. With my TT I can get Low teens when playing, but as much as 30mpg on a long motorway run. The NA will be more economical when playing and around town than the TT. - It will eat more tyres than regular cars, and they are more expensive. Although if your not doing high mileages, its not really a concern. Praticality - Loads of room for Driver and Front passenger, and conformtable too. But forget about rear passengers, unless they are children or amputee's. - Luggage space - Better than you would think. Its a shallow boot, but still pretty large. Plus as your not using the back seat, there is all that room too. Wish I had a cheap runabout instead ? Like a of zed owners, I do...as the Zed is just a 2nd car...and the Wife, 2 kids, Dog and luggage cant all fit in at same time (could get away with it without the dog) I've had my zed for over a year, its cost me very little in Maintenance/repairs...they do tend to cost a lot in Modifiying though....its addictive. You will naturally hear horror stories of expensive repair bills and unreliablity, thats pretty much what you will get posted on any forum about any car. However they are inherintly reliable, strong cars but like any High Performance car, they do demand regular Servicing, care and attention.

Should i go to the dealer
Took one of my previous cars to dealer for a "checkover" becuase of a poor idle. They charged me £110 and told me they could'nt find the cause of the problem. :headvswal As for their ablities, my local Nissan dealer wanted to know if I had a Petrol or Diesel 300zx  :mac1: . Not all dealers are the same though. If you want to use a Dealer then you need to find one that was Trained for the 300zx back in the early 1990's (only a few were I believe) and still have the trained mechanics working there!

Drivers seat is 27kg. Passenger seat weighs about 18kg (If I remember correctly) THe rear seat weighs very little at all. Your looking at around 50kg

Huge turning circle dilemma
245 is too wide on the front IMO. Its affecting your steering too much. I'd go back down to 225 or 235 wide personally. However the zed turning circle its very poor, but a bit of heavy right foot and you'll soon have the car facing the other direction ;)

Window tinting
To be honest all those licenses make sence, and are there for good reason. There not nessarily "permits", but a way of charging for those services . However, Dog licensing was abolished 20 years ago. ;) (and was in place to assist with finding owners of lost dogs)

you dont think the manual gearbox is strong for being able to handle 600bhp+ , and there are many examples in the US handling far more than this. In fact until Mac had problems, a failed manual gearbox was virtually unheard off. The large majority of car gearboxes would disintegrate with just stock zed power going through them.

If your concerned about its performance, get it checked out. Its more than likely in Safety mode (boost only to 7psi, and retarted timing). You can do an ECU check yourself : http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html

Top gear back on tonight..
Love Topgear, its great entertainment. Although I do take every opinion voiced on the program with a large pinch of sale, especially from clarkson.
