  1. no, it dropped to 18 degrees when he was at a higher rpm. Its 15 degrees only at idle. The autobox retards timing on gearchanges to make the change smoother.
  2. 248bhp will be at the fly, otherwise your looking at 330'ish at the fly which would be a 100bhp increase and the most powerfull NA VG30DE in the world ;) Still, both are very good figures. The wifes NA is complely standard, would be interested to see what figure it puts out, and then try out some of the basic mods (induction, decat, catback, headers, chip..etc)

  4. J19 M5 bud, the services are approached from both directions. All the details in 1st post.
  5. Dont worry about speed humps, that was at Ashton court, but we cancelled that bit now. 12pm Services, 1pm Pub.
  6. Its very simple, and every alarm engineer should be able to do it. Like most Japanese cars you need to install a Central locking selenoid motor for the alarm to work the central locking. This is basicall a servo motor that moves a rod on the central locking. I cant understand why the enginner had trouble with this, unless the problem he was something completly different.
  7. looks like the current version with a max power bodykit fitted

The screw should be for adjustment (the same affect as manually shortening the spring). Try screwing them in more.
  9. A few imports come over with the Central 20. Its map will depend on exact version, from mild to aggressive and will be mapped for 100+ ron fuel which can be a risk in the UK.
  10. Bump. See you all sunday.
  11. mike @ MJP in Traders section. Im pretty sure Hicas arms are the same for all, but mike will me able to confirm that.
  12. Fairlady is just the name the 300zx was given in Japan, but to the rest of the world they used the name "300zx". There are differences between UK and Import, they can be found here : http://www.300zx.org.uk/mod_comp_1.htm

  14. I agree, the new 452's are mighty impressive, and at a good price too.
  15. In my TT. running 13psi I get around 19-23 mpg around town, and up to around 33mpg on the Motorway. In the NA, Im not sure, but prob not quite as economical on the motorway (it revs higher for rpm vs speed) but more economical around town....although it tends to get thrashed more...so maybe not LOL
  16. Spend the money on a properly mapped ECU Chip. Your only looking at £50-£100 from one of the Performance parts/services Traders here. If it is currently running lean then its nothing to do with the Air filter.
  17. That cable is for the Cruise control, not the throttle pedal.
  18. Dont ask her that !, it will remind her of why she has been nagging me so much and Im in her good books at the moment  But it was about 4-5 months  with me doing lots of little bits..s..l..o..w..l..y, and then finally taking it around to SouthwestZ and getting it properly sorted.
  19. Sorry, meant to update this the other day. Ashton cancelled, becuase we have a few cars coming that wont get over the excessive speed bumps at Ashton and becuase the Pub itself is a good location for pictures. so its 12pm at Services, and 1pm at the Pub.
  20. :( Headgasket Cracked block/head Turbo Oil seals (they can burn white) Has she overheated at all lately ? Get a compression test done.
  21. There is no comparison between 100w bulbs and HID's. HID's are more than worth there cost. However the biggest problem with stock zed headlights, as that they quickly gather dirt inside the lenses, and if your finding the stock High beam poor then that is definatly the problem. Taking apart the headlights and giving them all a good clean will give you comparable headlights to most non-HID cars!
  22. Yep, very economical on Motorway journeys when cruising off-boost......however, thrashing about town is completly different story.

  25. The U.S Shocks will have the Actuators on them for the electric adjustable suspension. Jap cars never had them. http://www.zcentre.co.uk can supply original Jap shocks, as can MJP (see forum traders section) If you want aftermarket, then any aftermarket shocks will fit (for US,UK or JAP)
