Brake Calipers
Pistons seized, very common. You can buy a caliper overhaul kit, although you may be able to unseize them manually by removing caliper and forcing piston in and out yourself. This can cause Master cylinder seal failure though from forcing brake fliud the wrong way past the seal so its worth clamping the lines first to prevent this while trying to unseize pistons.

Electric Fan under headlight panel
Its there for added safety. It should'nt come on if the Viscous fan and rest of the cooling system is doing its job. It comes on if temps rise above 105c (or 95c if you have aircon on at same time)

Leather seats?
just over £400 with the VAT, yeh. I'd speak to Pete at nipponauto.co.uk if you wanted to go that route, the leather is very high quality and so is the workmanship. Its a solid weekends work fitting though.

Leather seats?
£300  Zcentres kits are just under £600 with vat for the 2+2 , and another £250 if you want the panel kits too. A popular option is Leather kits from pete at nipponauto.co.uk, his kits are around £450, but many pay between £1000-£2000 for there leather retrims to be professionaly done. There is a Guy in South Wales doing them very cheap, that quite a few members have had but its in Vinyl instead of leather. Cheapest way would be to buy a 2nd hand set of Stock Black leather seats, they tend to go for £200-£300 depending on condition.

Aftermarket steering wheel.
It fits in same way the stock wheel fits. Big (27 or 32mm cant remember) bolt goes through the middle to bolt the hub onto the car. You then attach steering wheel to the hub with the allen key screws.

White smoke problem
Is it very thick white smoke that hangs around a lot ? unfortuntly it could be turbo seals leaking oil into the exhaust when its parked up. Oil will produce white smoke if it burns in the exhaust, and blue smoke if its burning in the combustion process.

power loss when engines hot?
Do an ECU code test : http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html You could also do a Auto gearbox test for electrical faults : http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/autodiag/autodiag.html

will a uk ecu go on a jap car?
Yep, it will work fine. Also, Auto ECU will work on a Manual car, but a Manual ECU will not work (properly) with an Auto car.

Anyone know this car?
sorry guys, but having owned both and driven at least another 20+ of each, including half a dozen that were being converted from auto to manual for a true before and after comparison - manuals are definatly much more fun and noticably faster. Would that be becuase your Manual had a very iffy engine with zero compression ! lol ;)

Where to service your 300ZX in Hampshire?
There is only one 300zx specialist on the forum and thats SWZ Performance, located near Burnham-on-sea in the South west. Owners will travel from all over the UK to take their 300zx to a specialist, but it also depends on what work you need doing. Basic servicing can be trusted to most competent garages, but more extensive work is best left to the experts. A Cambelt/60k service which should include Cambelt, Waterpump, Thermostat and repalcement water inlet pipes will typically cost around the £400 mark from a specialist (or over £1k at a Nissan dealer  )

Modding standard BOV
Most dump valves include a degree of adjustment to ensure that the valves are not opening at idle. It would appear the stock recircs are partially open when in vacumn, hence the poor idle.
