  1. from arch to arch its 1.72 meters hope that helps
  2. Last week, when it was hot I tried my aircon but it was rubbish, just as I thought it was as I have tried it briefly previously. I said on Friday to my local garage how much for re-gassing, they replied £45.00. I thought that cannot be right too cheap!!!! I went across this morning and as they were not busy they said bring it over, so I did at noon. About 2.30pm I went across to see what was going on and I had R2D2 with a pipe drawing the remnants of the old gas out and then it pumped some fresh in!!!!!! at least I think that's what they said. I didn't know they did it like this, thought you had to buy canisters. I picked the car up at 5.15pm and had the aircon blasting all the way home and it is suuuuuuppperb, icy cold, money well spent. Thank you friendly metal droid!!!!
  3. Further updates on my obsession with smd and led bulbs everywhere!!! :tt2: I have fit these amber smd's which are the same as the red ones I have fitted everywhere http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320516287088&viewitem= these I have put in the side clear indicators and as usual they are bright and recommended. :tt2: These next ones, T5, I have fit in the two map lights and are white not a yellow colour and again recommended, just as bright as the filament bulbs that were in there http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190364693816
  4. these were on the other site before the weekend. i am very tempted, would you not have the fog lights on the top in line with the rears and the reverse underneath though, ideally in line with clear indicators? and what about some red lenses for the fogs anyone or will that spoil the look too much?
  5. http://www.redhotstyling.co.uk/carcept-nissan-extreme-rear-window-spoiler-p-1497.html?osCsid=bb473cea6b6de978a87e8336627a97ec this is what you need my friend, might put it on my xmas list!!!! :sneaky2:
  6. Seems like a good spot to just say as anybody got the top right screw cover? I have had one but have looked high and low for it and its nowhere to be seen!!! Over the months I have acquired a spare for the top left and the long centre screw cover though. Some money of course awaits. :tongue_smilie:
  7. One of my tenants said to me late last week that he was going to bring his washer to work, we have a place where everybody puts bits of metal and cardboard. I said to him what make is it? He replied Hotpoint, I thought mmmmmmmm good as I have been known and he knows I like to fiddle with them, one of my tiny talents. :shifty: He just wanted rid of it as he did explain it was not working properly and he had bought another very similar for £300. On Monday it appeared and very nice it was too, I quickly removed it from the 'scrap' pile and put it under lock and key in my bit. First job on Tuesday morning was to look at it, always the first port of call is the rubber hoses underneath, see pic, I removed these and about £3 dropped out in loose change. Then round the front is the filter which is easily accessable for the owner, again see pic, I tried to screw it off but it would not fully unscrew because of even more loose change!!!!! Eventually after tipping the whole machine on its side I got it all out. In total about 15 coins and nearly £6.00 was taken out. As you might imagine this was doing the washer no good and stopping the pump from going round, hence why it would not function properly. So I got out of it £6.00 which paid for elevenses and the washer now functions perfectly. That is certainly a win win in my book!!!!!
  8. Although the EL panels are on ebay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380162545632&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT you need to go and order from their website here http://www.glowhut.com/el-strip--el-panel.html I have bought the red one and its just over £21.00 with the postage. Furthermore, there are plenty of comments about the opening up of the rear panel, what about putting it back together? Do you remove all the gunk and re-apply something? Do you just heat up what's there and squeeze together? For those that have done it please advise, I thankyou.
  9. thanks graham, I directed that question to you really. I will order a red EL card as that seems to be the most popular colour. :flowers:
  10. Might be an old post but when people search back there is usually help/advice that is current to their particular problem at the time. It saves posting threads again and again on the same problems. I have just added to what there was there, in this case from daz, in an effort to aid somebody through what as been puzzling me for a day or so.
  11. Finally got round to bench testing first the illuminated rear panel and cannot get it to even flicker!!!!!! The inverter I got with it does work perfectly as I got it to light up my kick plates. :balloon: I have been in touch with the seller but he just says it did work when removed, I will not be letting it lie and will be back in touch with him. I have had to take it apart and with the EL card in my hand have tried again with the wires directly and visibly sparking on it but absolutely no illumination!!!! :tongue_smilie: So I have to buy a red card from the states as in this thread and fit that. I might as well of converted the one currently on my car, so much for a 10 mins fit!!!! :surrender: The Jap inverter I have that came with the panel will work on the red EL card I am about to buy?
  12. just took my to bits and you do need to pick away/remove the plastic gunk, i just used a small screwdriver, that is around the four screws or heads which enables you to get some purchase on them with small pliers and they will turn. prising it apart after is not easy but get it warm and do bits at a time, it will slowly run along and become easier. a little tip, prise the bottom part away first as the last bit on the top you want to keep tidy as is more visible in situ than the bottom, the top just eased out for me once i got a corner starting to come away.
  13. Most kind thank you. :balloon: To be fair they are scratched and scuffed which to me is a mystery as to why someone as not looked after them before my ownership but I am having to work with what I have got, for now though at least I have them working. I have fit bullet connectors so I can easily remove and refurb somehow into the future. Thank you again.
  14. All fitted now, :sweatdrop: just followed the smithy 'how to' and it is simples if you take your time and give yourself good access. 3 pics attached just to show. Of course comes off and on perfectly with the courtesy light. Many thanks to all concerned as always. :) Andy.
  15. http://www.bannerbatterien.com/banner/files/ZuordnungslistePKWUK.pdf i have just had one of these fitted, a 562 05 my local garage got it and fit all in for £75.00, they did too a touch other work in with that price also. do not know anything about these batteries but i am happy as it is called a 'starting bull', how butch is that!!!!
  16. if i buy two graham and the sills do not light up for me. can i use the inverters with the work you do at 110v on them?
  17. i have viewed the 'how to' so many thanks for that. on that there is only one inverter, don't know why i need two now? i am thinking of getting the one or two from you so whatever you suggest. if you pm me your paypal address i will pay that way? andy.
  18. oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh £12.00 thats tempting like a carrot and i will not have to wait, £8.51 from hk for the pair, decisions!!!! yes you are correct alloy but very scratched!!!
  19. thanks graham i will get a couple, seems they are practically the only ones on ebay. i have had a good look in the car while hoovering it today and cannot find anything. of course me be in touch. regards.
  20. i think for 100% certain they are not under the rear seats, you weren't to know i have a swb :rofl::rofl: will go out in a minute and have a good luck round for them, no wonder they don't work i have only been putting 12v into them.........i am one hell of a numpty it seems!!! :headvswal
  21. the wires do not touch the body when i am testing, i am not that much of a numpty!!! :tongue_smilie: i have jiggled everything about, tried every which way on both and get nothing. :sweatdrop: i cannot do it - i don't even know what an invertor is!!!! i have read though that these do suffer from dampness and many fail. suggest when you do the seat switch, i send you these for doing, i know i can count on you to do a most excellent job...just name your price. slight concern for me is the condition of them, they are badly scratched, if they are going to be lit up then to do them justice they need badly improving, will look into that. :balloon: can i start dismantling???
  22. c'mon graham i want your views on these? i have now taken both off and no life out of either!!!! i need a new build, in blue i guess but i do believe these are green to match the green 300zx rear panel?
  23. good lad, i am sure for you it's simples :thumbup1:
  24. well i want one so somebody please tell us the dimensions and they can be made up. i want exactly as this piccy please and i will not be changing my mind!!!! not sure pablito what you have, can you put a pic up?
  25. i could do with especially the 'nissan fairlady z' for the left, and not so bothered about the 'twin turbo' for the right. these seems to be the internet best price, not sure what UK postage on top is http://www.carbeyondstore.com/auto-parts/Nissan-300ZX-JDM-FAIRLADYZ-Rear-Decal/ if you pm me and offer it for a fiver less than you paid I will definite have it if still available????????? hopefully, andy.
