Handbrake Removal Help Please?
Since I posted this thread I did some research, I was going to buy a MOMO Pitstop but thought they was a little expensive and come without a depress knob :crying: I could not be bothered with all that so I bought this from HK. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lane-Leather-Handbrake-NISMO-NISSAN-Skyline-R34-M-/330478629731?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf20fb363 I fit it in less than 5 mins. Sliced the stock handle with a knife and peeled it all off - like a banana :sneaky2: Slid on the new handle so it was just resting on the stock depress knob and tightened up 3 provided grub screws at the bottom. Attached some of the provided double sided foam tape to around the base and then wrapped/stuck the gaiter to it - simple as you like :tt2: It is a perfect fit and I am very pleased, it does not rattle at all on the original shaft and feels top notch. Pictures not so great but you get the idea  Much better than a tired original handbrake and for under £18.00

Rant about insurance companies
You can get cash back if you initially go through Quidco, even if its 20 notes its better than a poke in the eye. You just need to register - simples :winkiss: Took a bit of time but just done the wifes car and renewal with LV was £302, got it still with LV FOR £304 but I will get £20.00 back in a month or so :cool3: These £20 and £30's all add up you know

Imported by the same Kent guy as far as we can tell as the red auto I mention, hence why mine and this one had similar plates. I have no further info than that I am afraid :crying:

I have looked through the emails and the conversation I had with mine's previous owner and although it was remarked how similar a reg it was to mine, it is just not stated what the number was, and the pistonhead link of course no longer works, shame that :hammer: All i know is that it was a Kent car, auto with a scorpion badge on the bonnet (mine had one I believe when it came over as well), i think it was red and had a GTR badge on the rear, was for sale about a year ago. Sounds to me like its another M*** SMV that is out there :cool3:

Chap arrived 14.20 for the am appointment!!!! He took the wrapper off the glass and very lovely it was too, all bronze with a green sunstrip - beautiful  I proceeded to take off the wiper arms to help him whilst he was having a go at the top strip, see pic, he could not lift it and broke both sides  Would of thought some heat applied would of help lift it but too late  He rung his boss and I now I have to wait again for this strip to be brought with the glass on another day :headvswal

Another 99 Spec Rear Light Thread!!!
My lense was dry and warm from being in and out of the oven all day, plus it was also a warmish dry day also. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260653503652&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Looking at these now just for masking purposes and black paint in the middle as you say Vod, just as long as that gap is around 2mm - it looks about that :cool3:

I will look tomorrow through my old emails as there was another car at the time I was buying mine with another similar reg to ours. Similar car to mine also. The small plate on the front of mine just sailed through the MOT

Got mine from Medallion Man, but diffuser from flourescent tube fittings will do I suppose, as long as the pattern is right. Ask him unless he posts. Polished mine with G3 compound, come up a treat

Another 99 Spec Rear Light Thread!!!
Been busy Saturday with the rear lights. Having already had some clear indicator lenses bought a while back from Medallion Man (Gerry), I then saw a thread the other day where Gonzo was selling his that he had made up himself. The penny dropped and I decided that was the way to go for now as the full led conversion from zedwizz is still under consideration. Firstly take everything and interior panels from the car Now a picture showing them apart, not difficult to do this, just take your time and NEVER RUSH. The best advice is to keep slipping the complete unit in and out of the oven, just a few mins at 90 or so degrees is enough to keep softening up The two inserts were not the same colour, at some point a new rear lense as been fitted, I did not notice this when on the car, both now sprayed silver As the new clear lenses are not a tray shape like the oem orange ones, you just need to spray up the bottom lip as shown in this next pic, I did it in the same silver colour as the inserts. Put the new clear lenses in with simple blobs from a glue gun. Then I used this 2mm tape http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260667923971 and applied to the inside of the lenses, because it is the sticky side out that is showing, it gives a grey colour as opposed to black, you may want to locate something different but I was happy with it. Make sure everything is spotlessly clean and re-assemble, again if you keep warming in the oven you can just keep going round the unit squeezing with your palms, eventually it goes back as it was before After giving them a good polish, I did fit them at this point, don't forget the orange coloured 21w indicator bulbs!! After looking at them for ages, the idea came to me to open up the centre panel (again) and put the 2mm tape on there to match Now all back together with no fitment issues, showing the fog and reverse lights lit up bought from Zedwizz(Martin) The job took me a full afternoon but is very worthwhile, I am pleased with the end product Total spend = £10.00 :thumbup1:

These might be better/brighter for the front fogs, that is if they are not too long :tongue_smilie: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-Car-H3-3528-SMD-26-LED-Head-Light-Headlight-Bulb-Lamp-/150493478628?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item230a1c3ee4 I have just bought some :thumbup1:

Hobbies other than cars?
Well I buy and sell 2 stroke lawnmowers, buy broken, cheap as I can and mend and sell for as high as I can, go for good money these days seeing as they are no longer made. Mainly L300, and L400 Flymos, both use the same 49cc engine. Here is one I made earlier :clown: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130423752292 A hobby that pays - win win :thumbup1:

Why not do what I have done, remove the sidelight bulbs from the front fogs(keep them in if you like) but crimp into these wires and use the 'kerb lights' as your new always on side lights. Also give you a wider looking stance  Pic of course shows fogs on with the sidelights, both come on when you just hit the front fog button

Hammond Top Gear 300ZX
It was on BBC3 last night at 7pm  I first saw this Top Gear when it was brand new and it was this very show that alerted me to a certain Nissan, 'I will look into those was my thought'!! About 6 months later I did get myself one. After viewing it again (I recorded also) last night for only the first time after the initial, I must admit I now know why I fell in love :flowers: I enjoyed the show very much but was not happy at Jezza throwing the Targa away and all the bumping that was occuring :mad2:
