please help!!!
The alternator is not charging the battery it seems to me, check fan belt is not loose or goosed. Battery could not be taking or holding any charge but I think this unlikely.

car tax
I think you can tax it one or two days before the start of the month, but with the weekend I am sure you can do it on Monday for March onwards. Certainly not drive it before you tax it - I cannot condone that :tt2:

God damn old bill
There are lots of people that show no interest at all in overtaking and they do my head in :gun_bandana: Why would you be happy at travelling much slower than you would like for mile after mile after mile, and these people travel close to the 'slow' vehicle which makes it a very long vehicle for overtaking and therefore you are forced to floor it to get round and through briskly, in a van this is not always possible

God damn old bill

Relocating sidelights
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-MR2-SW20-TURBO-NA-IMPORT-SIDE-LIGHT-BULB-HOLDERS-/280572633938?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41536ea352 These fit our cars but you can only use T10 bulbs, ideal for the side markers but really for the front indicator sidelights you need the same bulb holders as the indicators, then of course you can buy the 382 bulbs that will give you 21 watt, a reverse bulb or the led, smd equivalent :thumbup1:

Stereo surround no'2!
Must be honest at first I thought you had butchered it (well you did :crying:), but I am liking now. Just under the gauges and above the screen if you get something like a smaller 300zx steel din plate or even just a nice sticker, might just fill that gap, to my picky eye it's just a little too large :cool3: Something subtly backlit would please me even more  Top work  Now get it fitted!!!

Annoying insurance companies
http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=140710 My experience is all in this thread and Jeff please pass the details onto your customer I am very happy but as in post 30 I do not have an OEM screen, did not notice at the time of fitting and was never informed that it was not OEM at all during all the liaising, I think though to expect a Nissan one after all these years could be a bit much :mad2: it is not a 2008 plate Ford Fiesta screen we are after here but the insurers should not offer replacement if they cannot or will not honour, could be there databases need a tweak to take into account where some screens on cars like ours are difficult and pricey to get hold of :cool3:

Number Plate Dimensions
The more days pass the more I feel how petty this 'offence' was. I make every effort to make sure my z is in tip top shape when it goes out and mainly I am talking about the lights - they are without fault. If I did spot a fault I would endeviour to mend immediately :detective: Then I spot this tonight on the way home :mad2: Some brakes lights stuck on and no light at all on one side - now which offence is the worse I say bitterly? :confused1: This fiesta/owner will drive around obliviously for weeks if not months and no doubt never get stopped and why should that be - because it is such a run of the mill bland car :taz:

U.S lights??
Just want to correct what I put in post 7. I cannot even remember fitting these - oh dear, it's started :crying: but I have these bulbs in my indicator housing for the sidelights, proving very reliable so far  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-x-382-1156-BA15s-R10w-245-13-SMD-LED-Fog-Light-Bulb-/250753326467?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a62101d83 With the indicator on which a strong orange colour :cool3: You can also see the side indicator very clearly through the clear lense and this is in daylight. These T10 Bulbs are here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-194-168-T10-SMD-5-LED-Lights-Bulbs-Lamp-Pair-Amber-/300435750896?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45f35dbff0

irish lottery
Much, Much, Much, Much and a load more infinite number of muchnesses better than the the National Lottery  I play on the Saturday for that evenings draw and then the midweek Weds one. For a small outlay 50p you can win well over £100 if your luck is in, I pick 3 from 7 numbers so even your chances of winning are higher, don't miss the outlay and when you do win it is happy days - nice little bonus. I play on Betfred and also this is where I have a little Saturday speculation on the geegees :cool3:

Number Plate Dimensions
Oh, I have not paid and can go to court to argue the toss. Import plates is something like if there is not enough room for a larger one then it's ok to have it smaller but clearly I can have full size. The bottom line is in law  the letters are too small I'm afraid - you will done if the old bill haven't anything better to do

Number Plate Dimensions
Tiny wheels with the deep deep dish lushy rears  My 'illegal' plate letters are 35mm wide and 52mm tall, they need to be something like 50mm wide and 78mm tall, so way off really. I am not happy with the fine at all  next thing the cops will want some help from the public over something

Number Plate Dimensions
I forgot to mention the most important thing - I got a £60 dealt with at the roadside fine whatever that means, no points though - good times :surrender: and I passed the latest MOT with it

Number Plate Dimensions
I had a dental appointment :tooth: this afternoon and shortly after leaving work I spotted a panda car parked facing the other way. I joined the motorway and flew for about 2/3rds of a mile and then got held up and was travelling at about 70mph. Noticed in my rear view a white vehicle with headlights on and it was gaining very rapidly :nono: Yes it was the same rozzers vehicle I had seen about 3 minutes earlier. Pulled in on the hard shoulder :confused1: Officer came to my passenger side and I expected him to have a word about my speeding - perhaps, although I was not sure what he wanted. Turns out all the fuss, blues and twos was because my front number plate is a little small  Admittedly it is illegal I will hold my hands up but would a warning and advice for me to change it of sufficed? I have popped the 'legal' one on there that the previous owner did leave in the boot, obviously I do not want fine upon fines. Just a warning to others - they are clamping down but I have seen a lot lot worse, spacings, fonts and all that See the pic to compare the size, both are white just the flash as shown up differently This is the smaller one on an earlier pic- is it really that bad

Recovered door panel with a mod
Well, Graham did send the lights on to me as we stated in post 21. I finally got round to fitting them over the weekend  Getting the wiring through the rubber hose into the door was difficult for me as I have some thick speaker wires already going through  Anyway with much fiddling I did get a feeder wire through, the red wire you see in this pic, euphoric when I finally did this  taped up very very well my two white wires for the pull through Got the wires coming from the interior light relay (behind the passenger seat for those that don't know) and through and a quick test now to see if all is working :thumbup1: A couple of pics now of the finished job and I am well pleased with it, I have fit one of my favourite red T10 smd bulbs and these as you can see are very bright. A big thank you must go out to Graham for the idea and inspiration - hope I have done you proud  I also took the oppurtunity to put a 'lights on' feed into the passenger side to illuminate the window switch that you did, before it was permanently on with the ignition you might recall

FAO Qauvey
I can recommend this basin and wc, no bath though of course. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8350611/Trail/searchtext%3ECLOAKROOM+SUITE.htm We have it admittedly in the cloakroom and apart from the flimsy toilet seat (we have bought a soft close one) it is absolutely faultless, read the reviews for it and they are spot on  great value for money
