  1. 'Cos my car's slower than yours and I thought you'd be offended ;)
  2. MAC1 was already taken :headvswal and I'm a "Mac". I once saw the reg plate MAC 1V and thought "that's cool and expensive" until I realised it was on a Ford Probe.
  3. Dude, just get a HD projector. My "TV" is 110" (at the moment) and I love it.
  4. Light is a damn sight speedier than sound - 186,000 miles a second vs. 770mph (in air).
  5. examination Eleven xylophones are my incredible new attempt to install on Neptune
  6. Cuban cigars and pipes.
  7. Unfortunately, I didn't really get a choice. My dad was in the Irish Guards and played bagpipes in the band. He piped the lament at Churchill's funeral. He's one of the best pipers south of Scotland and he'd cringe at the way they've ruined "The Hills Of Home" in that vid. I had a go at playing the chanter (bagpipe practice instrument - like a recorder with a reed inside) when I was a kid but soon got bored.
  8. Pipes used to be used as a weapon of war. Imagine you're an enemy in an underdeveloped country who doesn't know much about the outside world. Now imagine the racket of a pipe and drum band wafting towards you through the early morning mist.
  9. Look, supper and tea are separate meals from lunch and dinner - not alternative names (although I accept that a lot of people incorrectly call lunch "dinner" and dinner "tea").
  10. Breakfast 2nd breakfast (if you're a Hobbit or Wizard) Elevenses Lunch (or Brunch if combining breakfast and lunch) High or Afternoon tea (which is tea and cakes/biscuits) Dinner (main meal) Supper Nightcap
  11. I'm still stuck on Haddock3.
  12. Driller Killer, Hellraiser series, Rosmary's Baby, Nightmare On Elm Street series, Hostel. For some weird reason, though, "The Village" creeped me out more than any of the above.
  13. It's a program you can install that runs tests on your PC and gives all sorts of results. There are quite a few downloadable for free. If your RAM is working, it should be significantly faster (give better results) with all of it than with half of it.
  14. Have you tried running "dxdiag"? Go Start/Run/type dxdiag in the box and click OK.
  15. FWIW, I've got one and I'm very happy with it - but I've never used another SatNav, so have no comparisons.
  16. What OS are you using? Some of them don't report the correct amount of RAM even when it's functioning correctly. Try a benchmarking util. with and without the extra RAM and compare the results.
  17. And there was me thinking flocking was nasty 1970s wallpaper. And cheap dartboards in the 80s too.
  18. The Countach always looked best in white:
  19. My favourite ugly wave still has to be Waimea shorebreak:
  20. They say about a ton per metre of lip, but it doesn't work like that (fortunately) when it hits you. I used to live in Newquay and my biggest wave was about 12ft - I was on a bodyboard. Also out on that day, was Russell Winter when he was just a grommit. I was also lucky enough to see Mike Stewart (9 times world bodyboarding champion) pull off a 5ft aerial from seemingly nowhere off a 2ft wave on Towan beach. That dude is the real king of surfing - even Gerry Lopez looks up to him!
  21. That's nasty. Do you know if he made it?

  23. I always said that if I won the lottery I'd get a classic Rolls, do it up with the tackiest things (eg, Seymour Bunz, Garfields on the glass, "Kev and Tracy" sun-strip, "trapped" fingers etc.) and then go banger racing in it.
